TBH I didn't really pay too much attention to the gameplay. But the way he talked about the champion was a lot more entertaining than the rest. | ||

I feel that junglers and supports can't make a lot of big plays; the stronger player simply performs small plays with higher chance of success - which is kind of sad because the audience cares more about pentakill than doing small plays to perfection. | ||

Nami/zyra/lulu are really the only big plays support-role characters that are played(added nami even though she's not really played professionally yet) stuff like taric is all background things. shatter debuff and armor as well as his ulti buff win more fights than a good flash by a vayne player, but you don't SEE the effects you only see the outcome. it's one of the reasons people recognize good support plays more in dota than LoL, because riot took an MMO style approach to supporting, giving background buffs and overall making your team far more powerful without showing it. that being said, when you see a bad-ass kill a guy with a gun with a toy sword it makes it that much more impressive. so when you see a taric do something crazy good like flash into a skillshot for his carry to save his life, heal the carry to save him from an auto stun the jungler then burst down the enemy carry before using shurelias to escape the rest of the gank, you go absolutely nuts. junglers can make really big plays, every time you see a successful gank-counter gank mid lane it was the jungler doing the work not the mid player, with the exception of those regi plays where you see him flash into 2 people with karthus and kill both while his jungler is trying to get there. EDIT: part of the problem is riot art department. if they spent more time of the support animations/effects and less on the mid/assassin/carry stuff then it'd be more impressive when taric shatters or when he ultimates. for instance wouldn't it be sweet if you saw the crystals from taric shoot out of him and impale every unit nearby and rather than the blue light that look just like his ultimate and invisible crystals. EDIT 2: though pessimistically i guess we could assume the art department is intentionally making support less glamorous so they can sell skins for supports easier. But just compare Nami to something like leona. they went all out to make nami's ultimate noticable, but leonas" it's a tiny yellow puff when it obviously should be this massive solar beam that smites everything in the area. | ||
