.... just tuned in to the CLG game. Of course, the game is paused longer than the gametime again. i think they should just start to disqualify CLG and TSM for this since they clearly lack any motivation to change their gaming house internet security. haha i like how irelia probably stream cheat punished clg for this 20 min break :p

Or they have actual plans and actions they enforce to not have said problems. There are just as many people who hate Curse as any other team. They have SaintVicious being a dick on camera and a cheating scandal to their name to name a few reasons. Likely they are just either luckier or better at protecting their IP address. Teams houses ought to get two dedicated Internet lines and use the second only during tournaments and the first for everything else (i.e. never be vulnerable to having your "this shit is important" IP available to get DDoSed.) I'm sure ISPs would be happy to take your money for a double connection. If you use it for things you aren't streaming, you don't need nearly as big a connection. Yes, it would be a pain in the ass to swap everyone over correctly each time.

Yeah, no matter how many people like you there will be people that will fuck with you if they get the chance. Even if EVERYONE seems to likes you, people will get mad that everyone likes you and screw with you. Curse probably just has better security. Kinda silly that TSM and CLG don't though. They're in gaming houses ffs. Dignitas all live at home and they never seem to get DDOS'd.

But yes as curse is a fairly competent organization(what with the whole network of gaming sites) it's likely they just have a solid means of making sure the house IP is protected in some fashion.

It's like STDs: the only surefire way to avoid the DDoS is abstinence (i.e. don't let your IP be known). With all the Skype vulnerabilities and people logging into IRC without auths / masks, it tends to get out pretty easily. i dont know whats so hard about quitting those programs and then resetting the IP before important matches, i really dont.

Normally you'd have to call them up to have it reset "on demand" -- you generally get leased an IP for a given period of time (e.g. 48 hours) and your hardware automatically renews that before it expires. I don't know enough about acquiring a dynamic IP that you can constantly change to comment on that part. Quitting Skype before a match doesn't make much difference. They already know your IP.
