I feel like demolisher nunu was just on sale, since I bought him on-sale recently and it wasn't that long ago since I charged up RP.

Eh I've seen a ton where Olaf doesn't work out. I don't really think its really nerf worthy I think its just a measure of the players skill.
I think its a good idea by riot to put something like this on sale. wouldn't be that unhappy with more of these.

I'm not understanding this Avarice Blade in S3 is bad for gold generation argument.
If it gives 2 GP/10 and 2 gold per kill, and Philo gives 5 GP/10, then in order to make it better you just need to average 2 CS every 10 seconds, or 12 CS per minute.
That's really not that hard to do, is it? It just means Avarice is terrible on supports.

Well yeah, I'd agree that he's pretty knowledge/skill intensive, but I think anyone who understands him well gets past his little hurdles. He doesn't really work in turtle teamcomps, but he's pretty devastating in any sort of dive or standard teamfight comp in the right hands.

Any resources you guys know of for playing Olaf? Bought him when I was low level and trucked a team when he was on free week. Sucked with him ever since TT.

12 CS per minute is 100% perfect CS in a lane and/or stealing from your jungler a ton. That's a pretty unreasonable assumption unless you're a pro playing the #1 farm position on a team, and even then.
Moreover, even with perfect CS you're only hitting 6gp10. It'll still take 22+ minutes to break even, which means buying it purely to increase your income isn't remotely worth it. Hence, it's only useful to buy Avarice (and any other gp10 for that matter) if you intend on eventually building one of its upgrades.

Does anyone know if Ravenous Hydra or Blade of the Ruined King are going to be better life steal options than BT? I guess it'd largely depend on what champion you're playing and/or how many autos you're getting off and/or how many enemies you're hitting with Hydra passive.
Still just the possibility that I might not be forced to go BT for life steal on melee champions is pretty cool.

12 cs per minute is pretty damn near perfect. Even in competitive play the only people who can frequently get that are mids that are farming their lanes and jungle camps.

12 CS/min when there are less than 13 creeps per minute in each lane (6 creeps per wave + siege creep every 3rd)?

Riot said they wanted this item to be the new go to CDR item on mana users, but I feel like people are just going to get the new DFG for that role. Just wonder if this item has a place anywhere.
