As to how long the peace will last, I think it will last until people's honor pools start running out (not sure how fast it regenerates) or when Riot doesn't seem like they're going to give any tangible rewards for it. Although all Riot would have to do is to make a public honor leaderboard ...
in MapleStory there was a 'fame' system where you could up or down someone's fame. You could only do it once per day and you could only apply it to the same person once a month. It didn't really do anything at the beginning (iirc there was one quest where you needed 20 fame to start it but that's about it) and people would generally just trade fame or sometimes try to sell it for cash, the typical price was 5k. Then Nexon came out with the global leaderboard for it and the price of fame shot up to 25-30k instantly

Riot would never implement this solely because you could make multiple accounts to abuse first win of the day bonuses and gift all the IP to your main.
Gifting RP is also out because you could abuse the fact that accounts get 400RP at level 5 to funnel it to your main also. Probably at best you will be able to buy RP for a different account, but that's probably open to a lot of abuse and they'd have to think about it carefuly.

Re: New Champs
Isn't it just that Riot seems to have no idea what is going on in their jungle? The problematic champs are ones that are supposed to be junglers (Diana, Jayce, Rengar) but have way too strong of scaling when put elsewhere. Its like they looked at Amumu and said, "Look a jungler can have good ratios without being OP" without realizing that lane Amumu would be a terror if he could actually farm (which he cannot).

To go along with what Yango said, Diana is stupid as first pick. There's really no bad lane match ups that she has mid. And she can be run top lane. I guarantee you won't see Diana picked or banned once at Worlds. As an aside, OH GOD THE WAIT ON THIS RIVEN SKIN IS KILLING ME! I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. I may have overstated how often Diana will or won't be picked but when you see pro players of different roles and different play styles all pick up and learn the same champion and then use her in pro games it's pretty obvious she's strong and will likely see play. Froggen, Alex Ich, and Voyboy all picked her up. All three have played her in a competitive environment. All three have radically different styles of playing this game and completely different champions they prefer playing as. Yet all three play Diana because of just how much she brings to a team. Doesn't hurt that Diana will be the last released champion allowed at S2 since Rengar is disabled. Meaning that no team is completely used to or prepared for what Diana does. If one of the really talented teams has practiced a lot of Diana she's gonna see a lot of picks and bans this week. I think that Anivia roams fine so long as you know what you're doing. You insta-clear waves. You just shove mid and go roam. You're not gonna get caught by the opposing AP mid unless they cede CS (and then you know they're coming and they're too far behind you to catch you in most cases). You shouldn't be caught by the enemy jungler unless you have no wards. Karthus never leaves mid because he can just press R to gank a lane.
I was being cheeky, because Riot announced before Regionals that she will be disabled Regionals through Worlds. That is, unless Riot changed its mind and I hadn't heard.

His AoE damage is on par with Shyvana if you're considering both his Q and W, and I don't find any of his abilities all that clunky. I'm sorry you don't like the clippity cloppity.

And to be fair, I think Draven is one of the best champions' design from the "giving a personality and tying the champ's kit into it". I'm going to assume that's not what Monte meant, because it's wrong. Rather I think he was talking about a scenario in which Hec's ult could scale relative to his MS, which at high MS levels would make it much like Malph's.
From the wiki: Unstoppable Force - Missile Speed: 1500 + Malphite's movement speed at time of cast
There's no listed velocity for Hecarim's ultimate, but it's been my assumption that it has a set velocity. I should probably test it to be sure.

I haven't played any normals or ranked yet since honor, but boy am I excited to start trolling people by being excessively nice!

People just gifting honour for absolutely nothing. I haven't given out a point or said anything in a game since it's started and I have like 5 pts.
Maybe it's because I fed so hard and the enemy team liked that I helped them win.
Edit: Oh wtf, really? Sorry Monte, I looked at the wiki before I posted but I went straight to 'Ability Details,' and apparently they haven't updated those sections like they have the main champ page.
That DOES explain how a few days ago an AP Malph with mobilities just absolutely fucked me every time no matter how quickly I tried to flash....(Or maybe I'm just not Korean or HSGG)

IIRC jayce wasnt specifically designed for jungle but as a champ that could top jungle or adc depending on his stance and build. the problem with jayce is that fact that he can just sit in range mode up top and still trade extremely well

I don't think Diana or Jayce were intended as junglers. They were built to where they could jungle but if Riot gave those champions those abilities and thought, "this is the kit of a jungler, not a laner," then they have no real concept of their own game. Like, Diana's Q is completely worthless in jungle. Jayce has no reason to ever use ranged attacks in the jungle.
I think Riot with some recent champions wanted to create characters that could fill more than one role to create characters who are "less binary." The problem is that it gives champions too much strength because they have to be really good to be capable of filling multiple roles at once. Jayce can poke, can initiate, and is an abusive laner. Rengar can jungle, can top, can be built AD or AP in either position. Diana can be more of an AP carry/assassin or more of an AP bruiser, she can mid, top, and jungle.
I like the idea behind it. I just don't think Riot's ever going to be able to make those kinds of champion designs work without making the champion too strong.
edit: Diana was only banned for regionals. Diana is not banned at worlds. She'll be available at S2.
edit2: If I carry games and don't shit talk I tend to get honor from my teammates for friendly/teamwork and honor from my opponents. I've never gotten honor when I've lost a game so far lol.

You know what would be cool? A movement where its members automatically honor any player who plays support and isn't unpleasant about it.
|
how about getting free elo oh wait it works like that already because supports are op especially when the other dude is a little kid who refuses to ward because he called mid but was last pick
|
Gah, can't play one game without a Rengar, Scyther, or even both.
"Well, we really think stealth champions like Evelynn and Twitch were really annoying to deal with, so we're nerfing their stealth abilities substantially."
Riot proceeds to release two retarded stealth champions, one that you absolutely cannot ward against once he hits 6+has ult, and the other which is just plain annoying. Love the logic.

Dianna was very much intended to be a capable jungler. It was in the spotlight. W screams "jungle me!" Just because she can lane doesn't mean that Riot didn't intend both (since they actually showed both off in the spotlight like with Khazix)

I don't know how I feel about jungle designs. It's like, the ideal jungler for the meta is someone who can subsist on low gold (if they're ganking without getting kills, still helping but aren't useless) and have clearing power for getting the most gold out of the jungle. To that end, the champs whose designs fit this are low-gold tanks with high CC because they don't need items for damage (designed for CC or have high base damages like Skarner/Shy) and AoE.
Any type of offensive bruiser type who wants damage items is better going to lane and getting gold farm (Rengar, for instance). Any type with high sustain can dominate top lane because sustain is godly there (saw this with WW/Udyr top for a while, kind of fell off, Lee still goes top a lot).
I don't know how Riot can go about creating a "jungle only" champion. Used to be you need high sustain like WW or Nunu, but the new Jungle is so easy to clear past level 2. And playing an Assassin jungle like Shaco is just begging to get warded and starved out by a competent opponent. So either they keep making CC heavy, low damage scaling, tanky junglers, or they redesign the jungle again. Dunno.

I was probably unclear in my post. I don't think she was intended to be solely a jungler. I think they made her and Rengar with the intention of making champions that can jungle or lane. Which is fine on its own but they gave both of them incredibly good jungling kits and incredibly good laning kits. So both champions are strong in either role and it's pretty difficult to balance that. Just look at all the balancing Lee Sin has gone through.

I was honored "helpful" in a game where I said nothing but "catalyst, double dorans and chalice on our kass kinda shows where this game is going" and "this is why you don´t firstpick kassadin".
Just shows how little the honor system actually means if you get honored despite being a dick.
