"how well did you sleep?" "how well did you play?" "how well do you understand this?" "how well did CLG do?" "how well is syndra played?" (often she is playes poorly)
"did you play well" would be the more common version but "how well did you play" is not incorrect. :D at least unless they changed that in the last 4 years. We have people who go "k" "who dat" "y u no" and "real" complaining about grammar lol
Haters gonna hate. Also, gandhi talking about grammar lololol.

Correct.

I don't see the problem with Akali. You just push her and it should be at least even. Oh and don't forget to spec defensively. Morg is no counter at all. She's easy for Kat.
Viktor is among the hardest counters to Kat. Can't outpush him, can't trade with him. Tryndamere (simple AD) seems to hurt her pretty badly too. Ahri is very strong against her if she abuses the first few levels. Diana is tough too,
I don't know all the matchups in deatil obviously, but there's still plenty of options to deal with Kat.

i just played as fid against her at 1700elo. was pretty funny how you can just zone her out of lane and then in team fights have 2 cc's to go against her. just totally shut her down.

I suspect some really dumb laners like Yorick would do fine. Sorry I'm late to the party, I just wanted to share my 2 cents on countering Katarina. I play Katarina any chance I get (surprisingly often if I ask nicely in chat) and I'm low-as-fuck-elo but I cannot contend with Akali in lane. Akali Q > Kataina Q Akali mark proc > Katarina mark proc Akali AA > Katarina AA I feel that in lane, there is no way for me to trade with Akali as long as she saves her Q for me. If i get close to minions, she QE me, i QEW retaliate and she comes out ahead. If we trade close to minions (usually when I go for cs) my QW pushes minion more than her E. When we hit level 6 I become even more desperate for her to waste her Q before I can go in because her QR does more damage to me than my QEWR to her (granted that she doesn't wait around for my full ult to finish). And 10 seconds later, she's ready to trade again while my R is on cd. So, basically I sit waiting for ganks and trying my best to cs without getting chunked by her combos. That's said, if I can keep up in cs decently i feel I have a stronger contribution in team fights mid game, but that's on account of Akali being even more niche than Katarina. Also, Fiddles mid is terror as Katarina. REAL TERROR!
Akali probably still counters Katarina in lane. She definitely was a Katarina counter before the Katarina remake... As Akali it used to be possible to destroy a Katarina in lane as soon as she hits level 9, regardless of farm (almost). I don't think this has changed much even with the new Katarina, however Katarina is now more useful than Akali outside of the laning phase, so it's kind of hard to say if Akali is still a worthwhile counterpick to Katarina.

People always leave out swain =(. Every auto'd CS is a E+auto(s) from swain at level 1, and only gets worse from there.

Yes, Fiddlesticks is a pretty big counter to Katarina, but she can still shove the lane in your face and then go get a double kill bottom. Also, I hate how Fiddle has such poor defensive stats. Feels like RoA + Zhonya's is mandatory, or you're dead.

He starts channeling an ult while we're both standing behind wall and I flash rupture scream an ez into fear silence drain. One ult cooldown later he walks into bot lane and starts channeling in plain sight as they're "counterganking" us as 5 and we both flash dive in, silence everyone, hit with rupture, and ace them as I tank tower. SO SATISFYING.

Kat is ridiculously op right now.
Malzahar does ok. Swain good for trading but still very bad if ur disadvantaged cause you can't stop her hen she all ins you. Galio is galio just farm. Feels like no aps straight up counter her and can only tie/punish blatant misplays.
Send some op bruisers mid for Kat :d

thats cuz u make the mistake of playing sc2 instead of BROODWAR the game of kings.

Wouldn't Mordekaiser do well against Kat? Siphon has the same range as Shunpo and with shield you should out trade her. Morde also out scales and out pushes Kat, only problem is Morde is super vulnerable to jungle ganks.

Diana straight up rips kat apart.

am I right in thinking at lower skill levels if an ADC is not good enough to make use of a support, the lane and team is better off duoing the ADC with a champion that can do damage & some type of CC for better killing/gank potential?
example: I've played Galio a few times because of the free champion week and duoed a lane playing as the "support" role using Q to soften and E > Q for kill/gank attempts, and once I'm Lvl 6, use R for CC and burst. these tools seem a whole lot better to me than Soraka can provide at my competition level where CS rate is at around 50-60% of pros and decision making is much more inconsistent and shaky.
obviously, at higher skill levels Soraka + ADC would be able to out sustain and trade though because those players actually know how to play and push the edges of the game.
had a vayne player ask for a support and got someone to duo Soraka with him. the Vayne ended up starting 0/4-5 and would always tend to be at the front when team fights were initiated.
got the typical excuse of having a bad game when it was really poor fundamental habits causing all his deaths. in other words, he played like an aggro retard and probably thinks he plays well when he can 1A because his entire team stomps on the other team.
I recently bought Soraka since she's only 450 IP and been thinking of playing more of a true support role, but duoing with an unpredictable ADC would just aggravate me.

I don't agree with Diana ripping apart Kat. I think both can lose the lane depending on their knowledge of the match up.
QEW is extremely strong vs. Diana becuase the movementspeed from W makes it ridiculously easy to dodge Diana Q. If she tries to hit you with Q before you jump her, just jump over it, QW and get away. Diana is annoying in that she has an easy way to stop your ultimate but as with everything with Kataraina, you have to wait for them to use it before you ult.
QEW and run away dodging the Q. If she does nothing more, you won the trade big. If she pulls you back in when you try to run away you ult. If she runs away from ult you come out ahead. If she stays, you W again after ult and then get away with a very good trade. As long as you dodge the Q there's no way you can lose the trade imo. You're not going to 100-0 her and it is never the goal with Kat in lane, against any champ. The reason she is strong is because you can trade well and get out so easy.
If you headbutt every Q, then yes, you are screwed.

Galio is a perfectly decent support. Chauster (i think) has ran it in scrims before and maybe some online tournaments.

I've had great success using Leblanc vs Kat.
The biggest problem I find with using an unorthodox lane combo bottom lane is that the AD carry (and rest of team) would cry like a little girl in champion select and the first 5 minutes. ADs are really protective of anyone merely thinking about taking a little of their farm, even if they miss half of it. Personally I love some kill lanes.

Its not even about hitting Q. All you do is zone her from creep with your presence and if she ever gets near you to w, you e and you AA. That's how you win. Auto attacks makes every trade an advantage for you. Also did I mention that once you hit 6 kat has no way to deal with you?
