Urgh. I've always borne a grudge against champs that are easy to play (however hard they are to master), especially safely/defensively, or have readily available "free life" buttons. Fizz's been in the second category, GP in both, Poppy's passive in the second, but Jayce is so goddamn dumb that it frustrates me every time I see one. I always get the feeling that even when they're obviously worse, game sense and/or mechanics-wise, the simple fact that he's ranged added to his ridiculous manacost, godly poke and easy disengage makes him both easy to bully with, easy to farm with, easy to play when behind in lane, and quite faceroll when you're ahead.
I know there's room for him to get good at and show some really impressive stuff, but his "I'm good at everything, and apart from scaling the whole load's on you to do anything to stop me" tools really grind me. He's so retarded to play against.

Playing Jayce as ADC is like playing Sivir but without all the goodies from Sivir.

I have heard (from here I think) Jayce Soraka is very strong in lane (probably via infinite pokes). I am not convinced that he is a good ADC by any measure.
Jayce can bully pretty hard, when paired with a hard CC it basically becomes a kill lane that can switch to "farm mode" to play safe (i.e. when the opposing jungler is nearby). His hybrid damage and gear scaling allow him to hammer the crap out of any carry that has to farm in range of To the Skies (600).
and if you absolutely need X amount of ranged AD dps on a team you can always accompany botlane Jayce with Kayle top (same goes for botlane Urgot).

I can't speak for Jayce as a primary ranged carry, but he's considerably better than the old school conventional 2nd ranged carries top like Teemo and Kayle. His ranged W is just soooooooo absurd and he gives you a free 10 second CD reverie.

You mean E I assume.
But the speed decays over time and you actually have to touch it, so it's not that broken.
What's to stop an AD from going top in his place, or even something like AD mid (ah, the old days), AP top (not too uncommon with people like Ken/Rumble/Vlad/Swain/Ryze), and Jayce (or a similar bruiser) bot? I mean, good luck convincing anyone in solo queue to switch it up that much, but it's not hard to get lanes to look different but keep bruiser/AD/AP/support/jungler as the comp.
Something like Ken top, Cait or Ez mid, regular jungler (someone like Malph or Hec would be nice), and Jayce/Leona or Jayce/Ali (lol knockbacks) bot is a strong, standard teamcomp, but with a bit of a twist. Ken is a strong and safe top laner, Cait and Ez do stupidly well against a lot of mids (especially Kass or something), and Jayce/aggressive support is an absurd kill lane while Jayce/Raka is pokepokepoke and murder.

I agree with this sentiment, he's good kill lane potential. You also need to win early/mid game like one, but your mid game is usually stronger in general and much quicker than ADCs can kick in. Your late game is not as strong, but I think it's a viable trade-off. Instead of assassination and displacement of Urgot, you get a stronger poke that's highly relevant throughout the game. It's definitely fun though

No, I mean his ranged W is absurd and also his ranged E is very fucking useful to have. Being able to more or less completely ignore attack speed and still dish out insane deeps is crazy strong.

His steroid is only strong if you invest no AS. Otherwise it is antagonistic to other AS bonuses.
His melee is what annoys me more, the knockback is longer than most gap closers, and %max health magic damage on a champion otherwise doing physical damage is so stupid it gives me headache. If he gets ahead of you maxing E, he'll get levels in it before you can get armor to mitigate his basic damage, and he'll crap on you on every trade. And even if you get ahead, you have to build MR too or he'll deal huge amounts of damage anyway. Itemizing against him is so annoying.

Also it is still affected by attack speed slows.
Jayce doesn't build asp outside of triforce and maybe wits anyways

You'll get RP and IP for your first game (if it's delayed just log in and out). After that if you play at least one game a week you'll get RP/IP every sunday.
I'm a terrible PBE tester, I pretty much use it exclusively to try champs I don't own and buy skins/runes for my own enjoyment.
