What differentiates a 1700 player from a 1900 one? 200 elo doesn't seem like much, but I feel like i'm miles behind my platinum friends. I can't consistently hard carry games anymore. People are too conservative to die in lane, and junglers are more responsive than they used to be. A lot of my games feel "even" until team fights and then one team pulls ahead and I just feel like a non-factor. What can I change in my play that will elevate me to the next level? People in general just seems to understand positioning and when to fight etc. better, and plat players might also be SLIGHTLY better in the laning phase. Anyway, it's not a huge difference, but it matters. I think the difference between 1500 and 1700 is way bigger than the difference between 1700 and 1900 anyway.
I certainly agree with the part about 1500 and 1700, and I think you're right about the laning too since I haven't had trouble against 2k in the past. I just really need to practice my positioning in teamfights and whatnot, so I guess i'll just keep grinding out games :D
Thanks for your advice
Pick agressive lanes that kill people pre-6.
Hmm, maybe I should stop spamming irelia games in normals all the time. I'll look into practicing riven again.

I don't much like Diana as a jungler simply because I feel she needs the farm to do well. When Diana goes in, she's in. That means she goes in to kill, and to kill as an AP generally means getting someone down asap. Her shield helps her survivability along a bit but she'll still get focussed down quite easily when built AP. When you jungle you can't guarantee the amount of farm that is needed to make her bursty enough, which leaves the more tanky build. I have to say I only have a single game experience with this, but it just felt very, very meh. Diana doesnt have a ton of utility nor a lot of hard control, so if she doesnt quite do the damage there are simply so many better picks then her.
When played mid I feel she's a slightly different version of Akali; more actual caster focussed but with higher risk (the aforementioned; once you're in there's no way out). So far I've found her to be great fun (I generally build her with something along the lines of double dorans into DFG into Athena's and Rylais (which comes first depends on the flow of the game) and a fairly late deathcap. The CDR feels extremely good on her, and DFG gives SICK burst when properly farmed. A fun champion overall, but I don't think she'll be a top competetive pick. Ofcourse, I might very well be wrong, as I still believe Viktor is good =)

Assassins and jungling just don't go well together.

Mundo assassinates who he pleases.

Besides, "assassin" is such a silly term as it is. What slightly differentiates an assassin from a melee dps from a tanky dps from a bruiser is all semantics, and some people use some of the terms interchangeably. Easier to call her a melee mage.

I'm betting that if Riot had made a Diana a huge monster rather than a human woman, we wouldn't be having this discussion about whether Diana should be an assassin, even if she had the exact same kit.

Not yet. Anyways I wish there were more hp/ap items besides just guise and rylais, because she seems to fall off later when she can't insta-gib someone and run away to wait for her ult to come back up. Her jungle kinda reminds me of ww or malph in which you "can" gank before six but it is 10x stronger postsix. Mid is where she belongs, imo.

HP+AP on an item is scary because casters have 100-0 burst potential. Giving them tankiness as well gives them the survivability to cast a next round of spells, and that's not counting CDR. By having lots of burst power, they are squishy as a result. Like a glass cannon. Not fair to have a titanium cannon. Resists on AP is ok since you can only prevent one type of damage, but is still not that great either. (Resists with AD though is just silly.)
Same reason only Banshees has HP+Mres. Both HP and MRes counter burst casters. HP means more hp to chew through to kill, mres lowers the burst. Having both on an item basically screws over burst casters a lot.

Only Monte goes Diana tank

I think randuins is pretty legitimate choice for Diana... Although I agree resistances from FH works well with diana's shield. The shield itself really isn't as amazing as you guys claim it to be, it's highly temporary, also with the low amount of AP (assuming jungle diana), the shield won't add as much health as you think. Don't overlook the utility of Randuins passives, and actives~ they're arguable more synergistic with diana's kit than FH is.
As far as cooldowns are concerned, could just skip abyssal (as a main first item), and go fiendish codex+chalice->unholy grail, and prioritize merc treads. Going unholy grail allows for smoother powercurve, making it so you're more relevant in midgame, than waiting for big ticket item to build.
Jungle build progression just for thought, is: regrowth->philo->boots->hog->boots2->fiendish->unholygrail->warden's mail->randuins->kindlegem->shurelya's->aotl->w.e luxury damage item.

Hm there's a thought, just rushing Grail with Codex first. I'd like to try that, I think I've been too focused on getting a bunch of items all at once, Grail is pretty reasonable to go towards with a smooth curve. Interesting.

if you're going to go chalice->grail, you could probably skip philo from the jungle. she doesn't really need the sustain for jungling anyways because she clears so fast that her shield is more than sufficient to keep her hp up. any incidental damage you take from ganks can be covered via natural regen and pots.
I've been jungling diana whenever possible and so far I'm doing pretty good. I just go boots+3 -> kage -> chalice. From there I finish Grail, Frozen Heart, Abyssal. I tried Wit's for a few games where I needed the MR, but my AP mid/top already built an Abyssal so I grabbed Wit's since it helps you proc your passive more as well. Never got past that, but I'd probably try building a Dcap afterwards.
Honestly, she doesn't do that bad from the jungle. Your ganks are pretty bad before 6, but they're still possible if the enemy's even a little overextended due to your naturally high movespeed. After 6 ganking's pretty easy. Also, Diana clears so damn fast she can hit 6 pretty early, especially if you jack your opponent's camps after clearing your own. Her 1v1 potential's pretty good too. If you're jungling you're not looking for the massive assassin-y burst mid Diana will give you; you play more of a sustained dps/disruption role that can dive decently well.

Dorans Rings, Rod of Ages...Trinity force (I guess) both have HP/AP.
Its not like there is a ton of HP/AD items either. Its basically Dblade + Phage/phage derivatives
