I guess this is as good a place to ask as any ~ I am trying to learn a few champs that I'm very bad at right now - in this case, Irelia. I'm looking for someone who knows what they're doing top lane (ideally who knows how irelia should be played and can coach me) and I'm looking for a handful of 1v1 lane games top lane - until either 15 mins or the lane is clearly winning one way or another.
ELO ~1350ish?
Summoner name: sylverfyre Preferred Role(s): Top, Jungle Schedule: 6-11pm EST weekdays

Now that it's rather popular, can we not invite 30+ people to one room. Stuff bugs and stuff like this happens. I won a ranked game and then saw inhouse game people on the right.

Asking a few times in the chat is usually enough to get 10 people throughout the day.

I did alright against his cho in lane as Orianna until him+milo decided to tryhard roam and gank everything. I agree though. I don't mind the 1800+'s playing their best champion once in a while but the point of the inhouse is to improve. I heavily doubt they're improving their champion playing against people who're 400 ELO below them, ranked is probably the place to do that. As hard as I try, my ~1650 mid isn't anywhere particularly close to their top champions. Okay, those were the first two Cho games i had played since I got my new laptop, and I was playing mid one game and jungling the other in matchups that weren't really my favor both times (vs Ori mid first and vs Noc in the double global comp 2nd). I actually was going to AD the first game but the guy who chose Ashe to trade me totally froze when I asked him who he wanted and I ended up just panic clicking Chogath mid. The second game I was gonna Cho mid but then Milo picked TF which scrapes Cho so I was like f it jungle and let incendio go gragas mid (who was the real reason we won wtf 8-1 start or something).
ANYWAY the point is I wasn't gonna do it the first game, it was an accident, and the second game I chose jungle cho which totally isn't that big of a deal . I FP'd Chogath to see if the other team could deal with draft strategy .
[edit] I am guilty of tryhard panth jungling those other games though. [/edit]
Also, I was trying out this theory Daenius has where, empirically, I don't lose games if I build RCS on Cho so I've just been rushing it every game now and I haven't lost yet.

Ok, kerrDOG2 X17 is on black list now. Absolutely unacceptable manner during and after a game.

I thought the whole point of improvement was to get your ass owned so hard, that it makes you try harder, and exposes weaknesses in your plays that might not be apparent in lower level matches.

My opinion is that incremental improvement is the way to go. If you get your ass handed to you so hard that you can't walk into lane without getting killed by 10 minutes, you're not learning anything, you're just getting frustrated. A good example would be the game I just finished. I was playing kogmaw with blitz against bezelheim's vayne+taric. With no outside intervention, bezel was up ~8-12 cs after 10 minutes (~70 vs 80). Two waves worth of creeps. I know by seeing that that my mechanics need work. I need to last hit better. If my support wasn't so good and our jungler wasn't as effective as he was, I would've most likely lost the lane eventually.
You learn teamfighting best if you're in a full teamspeak since if you can coordinate, call out targets and timers so that everyone's on the same page, you get a bit of insight into the mid-late game decisionmaking that better players do.

I didn't know this, but then again I eventually hid the chat from my stream as entertaining as it was, because I'm trying to promote LP as a fun and helpful place to be so..... I could've sworn one of the people he was fighting with though has been kinda bitchy on another occasion too though...
Whatever, we don't have mods so don't feed the trolls and ignore the guy so we can all get back to our healthy gaming sessions.

Would it be possible to have a blacklist of names in the op? I imagine it would be useful for people who don't want to read all 21 pages of the thread. So far there's only been two (three?) People that shouldn't be invited iirc.
Also, how are we deciding who to blacklist? Is one game of raging enough to warrent it, or should it be more than once?

He went beyond bitchy, though. Just went total 12-year-old soloq rage mode, calling everybody who spoke any name he could think of. I was entertained. :D

Ah, that was me, sorry about that - I think my brain broke trying to figure out their AP Tryndamere strategy/who they were sending where, and I couldn't figure out who was speaking in TS - after a year in Europe then returning to NZ, I can't distinguish North American voices from one another, heh. Glad I managed to end up as support that game.
The two in-houses I took part in seemed to be v.well-mannered, and as someone who hadn't experienced a game w/everyone using voice-chat, fairly instructive.

Ok, so I'm not the only one who thought he was a douche.

I was the nocturne in that second game. I didn't feel like the cho pick was an issue and I don't have a problem with high Elo players picking strong picks. I really like having the opportunity to play against skilled players playing well. There definitely was an issue of the teams not having the same tone of gameplay thoug; It was a bit frustrating to be constantly invaded while my lanes were joking around.

Try hard and play seriously, but do it in game. These games are still essentially pubs though, so that doesn't mean that we want/should see Malph/TF/Shen/etc. every game just because they're in the pool. It's Liquid Practice--practice what's useful to you. Spamming games on a champ you won't reliably see get through bans in solo queue isn't good practice for you or your opponents.
Play seriously when you're in game. Just because people left some strong champs in the pool doesn't mean go all out troll. It's perfectly possible to build reasonable team compositions out of a fairly average selection of champions.
Honestly, the biggest problem is that Draft Mode gets people in a certain mindset when playing this game that's probably not in line with what we want. If there was a DotA style All Pick option where there's no bans/pick order, but still unique picking, I'd say that would be more appropriate for the level of games we're going for. Alternately, unaware to Galladiator, have both teams in same TS channel and ban every champion Galladiator mentions interest in. Results? ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/2oUub.png)
So. Sad. ):
