I'll keep pointing out he's the best pick that isn't Alistar/Naut/Malphite until a month or two from now when everyone starts banning him. I dont understand how people do well with Pony. Every time I play him I just feel awful and do like nothing. <_< | ||

His late game is kind of weird, though. He has one of the best initiates, better than Malph in some cases. Malph better for AoE comps where you want them to stay together, Hec better for splitting everyone and getting free gibs. He can bear down on a squishy and force them out, but he can also peel with E (and a slow if you have Red/Phage). It's strong, but it's not super tanky Amumu/Naut/Mao late game or tanky damage Jax/Yorick/Riven late game, somewhere inbetween. | ||

We also always tease him for getting Lich Bane early on Brand. Tonight I was playing a game with him and we had probably the worst AD Carry I've ever seen. Our MF Claimed to be drunk and fed 0/11 to their Ezreal before the 20 minute mark. To put it in perspective, their teamcomp was Yorick (Top) Warwick (Jungle) Ahri (Mid) Ezreal (AD) Soraka (Support) We had Wukong (Top) (Me) Malphite (Jungle) Brand (Mid) Miss Fortune (AD) (Ragequit around the 18 minute mark) Blitzcrank (Support) So, fast forward like 20 minutes and we're stabilizing, getting really good instagibs on Ezreal in teamfights with the Malphite/Wukong/Brand combo and getting good initiates with Blitz grabs. They Baron a second time and push mid. We ace them and push down mid for the win, but both nexus turrets are in the way and only me/Malphite are up. We get greedy and try to fight them 4v5 off spawn and Ezreal manages to disengage into the fountain, regen, and restart the fight. We all die except for Malphite and he books it back to base. He manages to hold at the nexus turrets the remaining 20 seconds until we respawn. We take down Soraka, Ahri and Yorick, but WW and Ez live. We push mid after stabilizing our base again and try to end it, but Ez comes up mid-fight and we start losing. I go down, Malphite dies, Blitz dies and suddenly things look bleak. I type in teamchat "I think we lost this one" Brand gets engaged on Gets a spell off, and auto's the Nexus with his Lich Bane proc. Game goes to Victory animation. This should probably mostly be in the LoCicero thread, but I put it here because I'm really curious. Is Lich Bane really okay on Brand outside of retardedly specific scenarios like this one? | ||

That's exactly what a nautilus should be doing against a morde, camping you, since morde has only flash as an escape, naturally pushes lane and is a melee mid apart from skills. | ||

Other thing is that Lichbane's extra damage is all physical. Combine those together and you see that lichbane is a poor option early, and not even really that strong late because late game everyone besides their carries likely have 150~ armor so you better off just buying Void Staff+extras on most APs. Thats not to say it is universally terrible, its pretty good on like TF/Ziggs/Nidalee/AP Ezreal because skills with an on-hit modifier that are magic turn the proc into a magic damage as well. | ||

To that end, the only champs that actually fit those requirements are AP assassins. Off the top of my head, the only champs I'd ever get it on, outside of retardedly specific scenarios like the one you mentioned, are Akali, Fizz, Sion, TF, and AP Nidalee. | ||

Cutlass->chalice (for spamming my abilities) ->aegis+phage->glacial One game where I did manage to get full build was one where their AP was a pretty useless lux I ended with triforce, frozen heart, sunfire, athene's and gunblade. Although our top laner was pretty tanky too otherwise I'd gone for another tanky item instead of gunblade. | ||

On the bright side, he looks neat. i agree actually that hec is not the most fun champ to play. but i enjoy skarner (he is my most played), and i think skarner is better in damn near any situation. the ults are very different. hec you are jumping into the enemy team and skarner u are pulling someone away from their team. i also dont agree that hec and skarner play similiarily (you didnt say that but others have). hec's whole thing is he goes faster then anyone else which leaves him open to being kited. skarner's main idea behind playing him is perma slowing. their skills might be sort of the same (i dont think so there either, besides the aoe q) but in actual play they are different imo. | ||
