I find myself doing the opposite. Open boots+3 on udyr and then my first back is at like 25 minutes to get philo+HoG+wits+aegis lol.

I think the biggest reason he goes back a lot is just habits from old jungle, but as far as I am concerned it is a good thing so long as you can't do anything else. Your jungle clear without any camps? Might as well go back. Only camp up all the way across the map? Might as well go back.
Always better to to be full health than to die because you wanted one more camp before you B'd. As a jungler, seeing a full health enemy jungler in your jungle when you half health the worst feeling in the world.
Assuming you just clearing Wolves, Wraiths, Golems then starting that over again if you back after Golems you get to Wolves about the same time anyway, lose maybe 5 seconds.

Why is Hazard playing for CLG against 4not in a scrim? Is he filling in for Voyboy or have they already made another change? Or is that voyboys smurf?
I'm confused :/

That's actually pretty bad. You want to go back every time you can complete a full item. Going back when you have enough to get a philo, a HoG, boots2, recurve and then wits is far better. You're getting the gp10 ticking far earlier so that by 25 minutes, they've almost paid for themselves. Going back every 1000 gold or so is a good compromise between clearing as fast as possible, as consistently as possible and staying high on health.

I'm really bad at jungling but when I play with/against good junglers they back pretty often. Even if you aren't buying items going back for a ward somewhat often can be really helpful. Like, I've been doing this thing where if I don't have camps to clear, can't really gank any lane well, and I don't feel like I can invade I'll just back and buy 1-2 wards and ward objectives or lanes for my team. Mostly from watching other junglers do it.
Probably a champ by champ thing though as some junglers obviously need more farm than others.

Voyboy is pretty well known to still be in school and thus have commitments that will have him unavailable for scrims/tournaments etc. Though I don't know how the american schooling/holiday works so he might just not have been able to make that particular scrim.

you go back when youre low

jiji said voyboy was "hitting the books and is graduation soon" so I think it's just temporary for whatever match they have coming up this week.

watching nientonsoh vods, he gets a pentakill at the end of the game with corki vs a graves who went 5-0 in lane

More complete information on Draven. The concept actually looks kinda neat. Maybe a bit awkward as you'd have to be able to move/position well to be able to pick your axes without axing (badumtcha) your dps, but it seems like there's a room for dynamic, very high skillcap champ there. Also prone to dueling due to the potential perma-steroid, and the fact that 300 range is hella short in teamfights.
|
A lot of these new/recent champions seem boring to me. Draven, for instance, is only about throwing axes. Beastmaster from DotA throws axes as well but still has summons and a Cassiopeia ult as well. I always felt that LoL champ concepts were uninspired compared to those of DotA heroes, even if the other aspects of the game are better or are catching up (imo).
Still, Draven seems kinda fun with the catching axes idea and the E having nice utility.

Err anyone have a link to the Draven thing which is not on reddit? for some odd reason reddit is blocked in this pc cafe...

Here's what's written:
Draven: The Axe Thrower Stats: Range: 525 Movespeed: 305 Armor: 16.0 Armor/lvl: 3.3 Mana base: 240 Mana per level: 42 MP/5: 1.39 MP/5/lvl: 0.13 (obviously false, as usual) Health/5: 1.0 HP/5/lvl: 0.14 (same here) Health: 420 Health per level: 82 Attack base: 46.5 Attack per level: 3.5
Rating: Attack 9 Defense 5 Magic 3 Difficulty 4
Skills:
Q: Spinning Axe: Draven's next attack will deal bonus damage. The bonus is equal to 50/60/70/80/90% of his total Attack Damage. This axe will ricochet off the target high up into the air. If Draven catches it, he automatically readies another Spinning Axe. Draven can have two Spinning Axes at once. Range: 300
W: Blood Rush: Draven gains 40/45/50/55/60% increased Movement Speed for 1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5 seconds and 20/25/30/35/40% increased Attack Speed for 3/3/3/3/3 seconds. The Movement Speed bonus decreases rapidly over its duration. Catching a Spinning Axe will refresh the cooldown of Blood Rush.
E: Twin Axe: Draven throws his axes, dealing 70/100/130/160/190 (+) physical damage to targets hit and knocking them aside. Targets hit are slowed by 20/25/30/35/40% for 2/2/2/2/2 seconds.
R: Whirling Death: Draven hurls two massive axes to deal 175/275/375 (+) physical damage to each unit struck. Whirling Death slowly reverses direction and returns to Draven after striking an enemy champion. Draven may also activate this ability while the axe is in the flight to cause it to return early. Deals 8% less damage for each unit it hits (Minimum 40/40/40%) and resets when the axes reverse direction.
Passive: Draven's Critical Strikes deal bonus physical damage over time. Spinning Axe also causes this effect even if it does not Critically Strike.
Playing as Draven: *If Draven doesn't move, Spinning Axe will fall near his present location. It will fall directly on him, or just to the right or left. *If Draven does move after attacking, Spinning Axe will lead him in the direction of his movement. Use this to control where the spinning Axe will go.
Playing against Draven: *Launch skillshots toward the landing position of Draven's Spinning Axes. *Disrupt Draven with the goal of making him drop his axes. If you do, his power drops dramatically.

Sounds like another real bullshit champ. Surprise

At least Nautilus is original and interesting. I mean, bullshit champs can be balanced with numbers, but boring champs stay boring. It ticks me off that DotA has heroes with awesome skills like Windrunner's shackle shot and we get a crappy Varus ult in response.
