I'm with you there buddy. I'm at 724 ranked games alone. So much work to do, and it's so hard to focus at end of semester ~_~

I thought you do more damage if your mpen makes the enemy's mr go into the negatives and thus you don't actually waste anything.
|
Magic Penetration doesn't go into negatives, only flat reduction can do that.

So I finally got enough IP for some high priced champion, so guys I enjoy the most playing AP champions... Brand or Xerath? I haven't actually seen them in game yet but description and spell preview looks really cool. Which one has better fun-factor?
|
Xerath is extremely powerful, but pretty boring.
Brand is still good, just fallen off the chart of champs people play. He's really fun, but I stopped playing him because he suffers from extremely unlucky ult bounces.
If you're looking for fun, go Brand.

Is it just me, or do people not know what AFK means in lol? Well at least in EUW.
Its like every other game something happens, and someone is FUCK THIS, I GO AFK. Then they just continue playing.
|
brand hands down. blowing people up in huge flame pillars, shooting fire from your hands and setting people on fire? YES PLEASE. xerath is a long range "sniper" tho. its reaaaaaally funny if you snipe people that run away through half the jungle. but badass factor goes to brand hands down. and hes strong too and not a one trick pony... (also, both can stun)

hecarim is a pretty sub-par jungler imo, i mean maybe his skills make up for it, as he's very useful, just i come out of blue with barely any hp regardless of what spec/items i start with. best is 0/21/9 with cloth armor and 5 pots to come out of jungle with most hp, but i mean after blue i'm at like 30% hp which i can say is okay 6 months ago, but with all the new champs out now it's pretty bad.
i think he is going to be played top lane really...
|
I really like Hecarim's kit but his cleartime isn't great unfortunately, and I'm not sure he's viable unless the enemy jungler is also slightly weak in terms of farming power. Even if you buy wriggles he takes a while on camps because his Q just doesn't hit that hard, like a slower version of Skarner, and he feels like a champ you should go philo, hog and shurelia's on just because the active works so well with his other abilities.
If you go double gp10 into tank items and eventually triforce he's strong, great teamfight presence etc, but actually getting there is a bit of a pain. And going Wriggles and then philo just feels weird since you don't take advantage of the early regen or gold/10.

I actually asked this question ~6 months ago becaues it seemed to me that each point of mpen increases your damage more than each point of ap.
I think the simplest answer was basically a) no one bothered to actually do the math to figure it out and b) the thing about mpen is that you basically depend on getting as close as you can to 0. If you go over, you waste slots. If you go way under, well, you just look stupid once you get void. Whereas ap is always good. The MR window in which MPen is "efficient" compared to AP is actually way bigger than people make it out to be. Part of this is because while MR makes MPen worse, this is counteracted by the fact that because MPen is a multiplicative damage increase, it gets BETTER when you have higher AP and spell damage. Even if your 10 MPen is only ~4-5% damage increase (which is about how much 10 MPen is worth vs ~150 MR targets), when you're at the point where you've got 300 AP, and your spells are each doing 500 damage, that 10 MPen is still worth like 25 damage per spell, which is probably better than what you could get in AP.
I did the math ages ago at some point (IIRC it even pertained to a discussion with Smash and Uta about Sorc Boots).

Hahahahaha.
In other news lets have a little poll
Poll: Hecarim?Meh (N) (9) 69% Good (Y) (4) 31% 13 total votes Your vote: Hecarim? (Vote): Good (Y) (Vote): Meh (N)
OH and there is this strange glitch... When I use gap closers (So far only used Lee Sin's Q) on jungle minions sometimes it doesn't aggro the minions and they don't bother attacking you at all. If someone took advantage of this, it would be pretty bad :S

Is it known when Hecarim patch will hit EUNE and did NA get patch already?

on the tangent of boots since i want to talk about them! does anyone else feel that merc boots are 99% of the time just the best boots on every hero. because of tenacity. other sources of tenacity are a pain to get without derping yourself over but its such a powerful stat it feels impossible to play without it.
im talking about on things like ap mids who traditionally go sorc boots for a bit of bonus damage.

Unlocked Hecarim and Warlord Shen.

Riot nerfed taunt spam this patch, can no longer make animations repeat with /j /l or /t. WTF
Seriously there's someone at Riot who looks at this game for little fun things and then sucks the fun out of them with a hypodermic needle so that it can be burned in an incinerator.

Merc treads? I see what you're saying but maybe as the AD/AP carry your optimally going to position well and not get caught by cc so the added damage from berserker's or sorceror's is better?

b.f. sword, ruby crystal, stuff like that can get you to almost any item in 2 clicks, the reccomended items as they are now, aren't useless but they aren't nearly as helpful as they could be.

Oh hey guys, evidently LoL is hackable because ward positions are globally broadcast so with a hack you can know where all the wards on the map are.
