Then what of the game I did watch, it seemed that Voyboy had no problem getting to and sticking to CLG's backline, he just had a problem actually killing anything.

He did quite a lot of DPS to Jiji and HSGG for example but could never finish because they both had Zhonyas Hourglass that made them invincible at the most clutch moments

Like Fizz's kit is just so damn good at blowing stuff up. I get why you would want to go bruiser Fizz; your ulti for disruption and you rely on your W for damage. But honestly, going bruiser Fizz just completely neglects your insane ratios on all your spells it's kinda pointless.

When the Caps lost and HSGG + Doublelift died I just rage quit all my streams. CLG just won a big teamfight or something? They mostly won because of a few things 1. They sent SV to split push bot lane and take all that cs there for a big period of time (+100 cs over Nocturne at one point) 2. Good team fight #1, CLG fought when scarra's ultimate was down, great kiting by doublelift and CLG gets 5 for 4. Bonus clutch zhonyas by Jiji to survive Karthus who ulted right when he respawned. 3. Good team fight #2, Nocturne tried to all in Doublelift, Dignitas made the mistake of funneling into the entrance of CLG's red side jungle, PERFECT Sona ult, followed by Grave ult and Swain ult. Ace and baron 3. Good team fight #3, with baron they push inner mid turret, do some diving, Dignitas doesnt have quite enough damage and SV just soaks everything up. HSGG has Zhonyas at this point as well, him and Jiji just trollolol Voyboy all day GG

Buckshot is very good vs Melee Kass can Silence you if you come in with Q, and if you come in with E well, you better kill him or you aren't getting away Swain again very good vs melee and as mentioned earlier both ap had Zhonya's Fed Fizz vs. that team is not nearly as good if say Karthus had been the one with the huge lead. Swain has very strong lane vs. Fizz he can basically zone you out completely with nevermove, it's far too mana efficent compared to Trickster to do anything about it.

Well if you ever tried that exact build on Fizz you would notice your damage is comparable or even higher than a full AP fizz over the course of a game. AP Fizz does "blow" up ranged carries in one combo, but you heavily rely on your shark landing but with Trinity Fizz you can spam W Q and autoattacks to bring them down instead

Bruiser Fizz definitely does less damage than AP Fizz. I know solo q isn't the best measure when talking about pro games, but I win most of my AP Fizz games and lose most of my bruiser Fizz games. When Fizz came out I played a ton of nonstop Fizz trying him in top, mid, jungle going all sorts of builds. I tended to do much better as AP than as bruiser. Like...the vast majority of my losses with Fizz are me going bruiser Fizz. Might be a playstyle thing tho so iunno. AP Fizz doesn't rely entirely on his shark to do damage. It's definitely a big portion of your burst, but your Q+W spam does a crapton of damage too, especially since your ratios on both Q and W are quite significant. The biggest weakness of AP Fizz is that you have to be really good and smart at going into a fight and knowing when/how to get out. I generally go for Dcap Lichbane then some tanky items like GA Abyssal.

I prefer AP Fizz also, but I'd rather point to how Dominate made himself incredibly weak getting Fizz a lead vs a team that basically counters him.

I dont think anyone debates that. Maybe if they just sat there and let you auto them for like 15 seconds, but thats not gonna happen.

I also tested a lot of Fizz when he came out and experimented with a lot of different builds/roles/etc. For Voyboy's case he prefers lane dominant champs and I kinda agree, AD Fizz does lane a bit better than AP because the opponent cant just stack MR to counter you because your damage is kinda hybrid, AA hitting like a truck and AP DoT~
