fiora is just bad, her kit is wonky and she doesn't really have a place in the game
there are so many ways to beat her
if you don't want to pick a champ that's strong against her, just run an armor page and cloth + 5. just farm, don't attack her -> you now negate one of her skills. push wave to her tower -> she has no farming skill. take any champ with cc -> she's useless in teamfights
played her a few more times, and even doing well it was just like "who cares"
i won a lane pretty convincingly and then proceeded to do jackshit the rest of the game except get some ult kills and some cleanup kills

Eh, Shen energy cost increase hurt, but it's not really that bad because in lane it's rarely a problem since you can still Vorpal and Feint pretty much with impunity and that's the real key to his lane strength, in jungle it's even less of a problem. And since most of Shen's mid-late game abusiveness is born out of his split pushing ability, it's not a huge deal. In team-fights though...yeah it can be rough, you're pretty much reliant on getting a good Shadow Dash off, if you miss or only get one person, you're energy is going to be an issue.
Note that that was an issue before as well, but the energy nerfs mean you feel it a little more than you used to.

If you go QWQWQ he won't really run out of mana for long enough. If you absolutely need it you can get a sheen or glacial to augment it though. On another topic, from watching streams, I think Fiora is pretty binary in terms of who she beats in lane. Anybody who can disengage in some way from her the moment she uses burst of speed(stun, slow, snare, dashes etc) beats her with relative ease while anybody who can't just gets destroyed by the massive dps from her steroid.
You need to be careful about the mana pool early on. It stops being an issue later, especially after getting glacial/sheen but there is this definitely a window where you need to be careful with the Q spam, when you still want to gank efficiently.

From when he got nerfed several patches ago. Scaling cost 22/24/26/28/30. Ult got 20 seconds added onto it at all ranks.
Also to answer the question of the person you quoted, skarner q has a 3 second cd, -1 seconds from autos. That means in 10 seconds he uses 150 mana. You get back like 18/5 mana, plus 30 from sigil. You might do well at wraiths now, maybe wolves, but golems will put you behind.

Why don't AP champs get rid of their Sorc boots for CDR boots/Mercs after they get Void Staff? It doesn't make sense to me. % penetration is calculated after flatpen, so the difference in Magic Penetration between having both Void and Sorc boots is almost negligible because having the Sorc boots makes the Void staff less useful in the first place.
Is there something I am missing, or are peoples just ignorant?

%Reduction, then flat reduction, then flat penetration, then %penetration.
It was changed at some point, but that was ages ago.

I usually sell Sorc Boots after Void Staff and get Ionian, unless I'm CDR capped or they have lots of disables.
Not sure on the math, im just sheep and follow what pros do.

Back when % penetration was calculated before flat penetration people were rushing Last Whisper as first item and along with apen runes and Brutalizer usually managed to bring the opponent down to 0 armor, resulting in totally OP damage. (100 armor - 40% = 60 armor - 36 or so - 15 = left with 9 armor)

Because until you're on 6 items, it's probably still not cost-effective to sell your boots. Items don't sell for full price, so you're effectively paying 330 gold more for Mercs (since Sorcs sell for 330 gold less than you bought them for). It's not a lot of money, but in all likelihood, it's still probably not worth your effort to re-buy your boots until you're on 6 items already.

You *should* be CDR capped with blue buff + elixir on anyone that bought Sorcs.

I don't think the clear speed is an issue to be honest. She is not superfast, but I wouldn't call her slow. The real problem is the lack of cc when ganking. Her burst is high though and Q in my opinion is an excellent gap closer. The problem I have with her when ganking is that people literally just walk away from me... and it's not like I'm not in range. I get in range and they just walk away unless the lane has some cc.
I'm trying at the moment to go wriggles-> Boots-> Phage to help with the ganks. Although by the time I hit phage the laning phase is usually almost over. And I also think that Triforce is really nice on her, which makes going phage quite good.
