The basic defensive move is a parry-riposte, which is exactly what is happening here. parry != disarm. her footwork is too shitty to be a really fencer anyway. like, he stance is far too high up, she needs to have a wider base and lower center of gravity. also parry would be sweeter if it animated through the standard 1-8 foil parry positions as you used it throughout the game. that would make her instabuy status for me, lol (4 year sabre fencer), but at the same time, it seems like that would be a massive pain in the ass to animate all of them. I havn't actually seen her animations, but if they're really that bad, it might seriously bug me, . Can't exactly expect the riot team to hire an outside expert and do motion-capture just for this one champ tho, haha lol, it kinda bugs me as a 6 year foil fencer, but w/e, it's a video game, I kinda expect it.

That's just mean
Edit: Shocked at the fencing knowledge that popped up in this thead lol.

Well. I'll break down my thoughts on Fionanana so far:
Tried the 5 Tiamat thing. It sucks. Sold one of the Tiamats and bought a Ionic Spark. Much more lulzy, but still sucks.
Tried the glass-cannon BT-IE-PD-LW-GA. Did a shit-ton of damage. Like a shit ton. Couldn't believe it. That Ult absolutely melted fools. Didn't die as fast as I expected, probably because I was putting out like 2kDPS and healing like crazy, but still died very, very fast.
Tried Wriggles-Wits-Mallet. This is the build I like the best honestly. Once I had a mallet and a little attack speed from wits, Nobody was getting away from me 1on1. Probably the best sticking power I've experience in the game. Also this build provides the most flexibility because you can follow up the core with other things as necessary. This is probably the smartest way to build her, but I also recommend you play at least one game with the Ranged AD carry build just to experience it.

Honestly, she seems a lot like shyvana with ideal builds. I find mallet and wits are amazing on shyvana. Because Fiora's ult procs mallet and wits, she can slow the entire enemy team in a teamfight. I simply love chasing someone down, hitting them once to proc the mallet effect, and then using my attack speed to keep the enemy permaslowed until they die or someone else comes along and kills me.

Mallet, Wits, Bloodrazor. Best ! ! !

Ya, I've been kind of biased against Bloodrazor after reading about how much TL hates it... but I will probably throw that in after Mallet next time I play the Finoa. Just dunk fools for days.
|
My main gripe with bruiser Fiora is that, after your ult gets used up, if the enemy carry gets away from you, you have no reliable way of catching them anymore. If Q applied slow, then that'd be a different story.

bloodrazor got a nice buff. 10 AD is nothing to scoff at.

He's fine in most regards, but just a bit niche. imo, anyway.

Anyone played the Irelia v. Fiora matchup? I just went top as Irelia, and got absolutely dominated. I hadn't played against a Fiora yet, and I was very surprised at her level 3 trading power. Dash + Burst of speed + Parry hurts like crazy. I ended up getting Rammus camped most of the laning stage, and lost the game in 20 minutes, so I can't really comment on how the matchup changes as Irelia gains some levels.
Anyone who has tried the matchup and care to comment? Does Irelia eventually start winning trades, or does Fiora just do too much damage?

Especially if you have skills that scale off AD. I've always hated that the majority of the damage from MBR doesn't increase the damage of your skills.
Also, Fiona Q really should apply slows, or reset auto-attack timer, or be followed up with an AA or something... jumping on someone for 40 damage is pretty dumb.

IMO the main problem with twitch is that his ulti can be countered by walking to the side. They really should make it so that it can't miss the main target, he'd be much more powerful.
|
I really hate how most of new champs nowaday regardless of role will have a "dashes" of some form. Ahri and now this? We will soon see a soraka with gap closing ability soon enough. Riot should stop screw up with older champs.

So I decided to just go ahead and by a full page of AD runes :D (Still lacking 1600 ip for the last 6 blue ad ones though...)
Edit: YES I KNOW ARPEN IS MORE EFFECTIVE Just in case I accidentally start the forum war again.
