Yeah, something in my head said the amount of time and the attack speed would make a difference but that's all there is to it, isn't it. Nevermind! I think it comes from WoW pvp where using a big two-hander could result in huge amounts of overkill damage while two fast one-handed weapons allowed you to kill the target without wasting as much damage on the already dead target. Tradeoff between burst and efficiency. Not sure if that's relevant in this situation but maybe teamfights but I feel like positioning plays such a big role it may not be that important at all.

Regarding the wriggles build on ADs - Do u really need to finish the PD? The point of the build is wriggle's strengths : gives sustain, armor, early game and dragon control. So can't you just go like 2/3 doran's, wriggle's, zeal then IE ->finish PD?
|
3 dorans + 1 wriggles + 1 zeal + 1 boots = 6 items. Much easier to farm the money for zeal -> PD then straight up IE. Yes you can sell dorans, but it's still like farming IE in 1600 chunks.

IMO the biggest problem is that the wriggles build cannot deal with hypertanks at all. Like Im convinced that M5 secretly planed on destroying TSM for the next 6 months by beating them with a shitty ad build that would trick Chaox into doing it, then they just run shyvana, one of the characters that that build cannot actually kill. Works just as well with Udyr (as SV proved), Skarner, or malphite. All the while Chaox stupidly sticks with it cuz he feels the need to prove that the "snowball meta" (LOL) exists.
The build is just bad IMO.

You say that like Chaox hasn't been building wriggles first on ADs for a long ass time now.

The build is just bad IMO. You say that like Chaox hasn't been building wriggles first on ADs for a long ass time now. Chaox was one of the first people to build wriggles on AD carries. He stopped doing it when he realized how much it gimps him later in the game+when shit like Udyr/Skarner got really popular and wriggles builds just don't do enough damage. He also used to go, at most 2 dblades into wriggles, then IE/PD. Not the janky triple dorans, wriggles, zeal rush stuff M5 did.
|
I might be misremembering, but I thought the early Wriggle's builds still tried to follow up with an IE or Bloodthirster rather than shooting for Zeal/PD. That's a notable difference from the current M5-inspired build.
|
Wriggles is still pretty good first if the enemy isn't running a naturally tanky team like Shyv/Udyr/Skarner jungle.
|
Wriggle's just isn't as strong as it was 6 months ago. Six months ago TSM was running 3 wriggles in every game.

That's a notable difference from the current M5-inspired build. It did. It used to be wriggles instead of blades (or maybe 1 blade) if you were losing a lane, then built normally. Chaox started that.
Chaox THEN coppied the M5 shit build (which I dont even think THEY run anymore) to the current lack of sucess in doing anything good whatsoever. Highlighted by the phenomenal fail that was TSM vs CLG last weekend.
@Sabin- difference is that 6 months ago people still tried to transition out of wriggles as fast as possible. Now TSM thinks every game is over in the first 30 seconds so they dont bother trying to transition.

I saw some vayne on saint's stream get called a troll for building dodge boots first. Honestly if you do any build that's a bit strange in solo queue you just get ragers and leavers. You can only do it on unconventional top laners that people don't know the builds for like teemo. I hate people who get mad whenever anyone does a build different from the norm.
As for the discussion, I've had a change of heart. I think what items you get are different based off of your champion, what you intend to do with her, your partner, your opponent's champion and playstyle, and your opponent's runes and masteries. Consider that if your lane opponent started 25 arpen in runes, well then your best first item would be a cloth potion. Consider again that they were an aggressive sivir or soraka. Well then those 5 health pots would help a lot if your support didn't have heals.

Of all AD carries, vayne benefits the most from serkers, so yeah, dodge boots on her...

hes bad low elo / solo queue compared to most aps immo. all his kit relies on your team to take part unless your lane opponent goes full retard.
but in a team situation his has strong ganks, a stun or slow and an insanely long range poke. he also pushes towers faster than any other ap.
