CLG eu troll picked because they were tired and had already played the whole day. Soraka top, Evelynn mid, Mundo jungle, Teemo/??? bot.
edit: karma?

Their lanes didn't even make sense XD Eve would have been better in the jungle, mundo top, and Soraka mid.

I think its pretty disrespectfull to their opponents. If I would be facing CLG.eu first round of Go4LoL I would be so happy to play them. We would get stomped , but it would be awesome to just play with people I watch on stream alot.
If they would be doing that crap to me in a game like that, I would be very pissedoff and dissapointed.
|
As someone already said, they were tired cause of playing all day long. And they didn't want to forfeit, so...
|
If you dont want to play or cant play the full thing, dont sign up.

You don't have to tryhard every single online tournament match, especially a weekly cup like that. They just did it for fun and didn't care about the results.

It's funny how in the SC community, stuff like the Naniwa Blizzard Cup controversy causes a huge uproar when a player throws away a tournament game like they don't care, and in the LoL community, people don't care at all.
I'm with ihasaKAROT on this one--treating even minor events like this is indicative of the enormous lack of professionalism in the competitive LoL community.

Like I said, they would still beat me, but Id rather be stomped by their 'normal' play instead of just trolling. And not just the trolling, but also the swearing, insulting other opponents on stream and acting like a total b*tch. Theres a few thousand people watching on stream, atleast have some respect for your opponents, how bad they may play.
Just my opinion, thought they were more mature.

does anyone have any tips for laning against olaf, from counter picks to play style to anything. ive yet to see someone do well against him in a real game. when im against him its like he builds wriggles in to metagolem and still deals tons of damage. like more than lee sin or gangplank. if i see him picked on the other team at champ select should i take a ranged character or are there bruisers who can beat him in lane?

I fail to see your logic.

It shouldnt matter if there is an audience of 10 people, 5000 or 1 million. There should be some sportsmanship and respect for the opposing team/players. CLG.eu failed hard on that front yesterday. Dont know how you feel about it, but getting insulted in front of about 10k viewers total is a big deal to me.

To you it's getting insulted to completely destroy them ? oO We must just not have the same values regarding that then. If they decide to go for a loosy comp and you manage to punish them for this, how did you get insulted ?
And if you lost to it, what's the matter ? It shows they knew how to play their comp better than you know how to counter it. They beat you fare and square.
|
The insults were the games before the trollpick where they lost in the end. Its 2 different things im talking about here. Maybe that clears it up.
Also I dont care if they beat me using that compo, if they beat me they beat me. But there was no respect from any of them to the opponents.

Because there's the implication that you're not on their level (when its not their place to judge)? Because they robbed you, and any viewers of the chance for a good game?

Comparing Go4LoL with the Blizzard Cup Invitational doesn't really fit. Nobody would care in sc2 when some pro would throw a game in the weekly Go4SC tournament either. When a team would troll pick in let's say, the OGN Invitational that would totally different.
Edit: You can of course still discuss if that is wrong or not. I'm not really sure about it yet, BUT comparing those two is just not fair.

I think there are certain implicit obligations that a player has when entering a tournament to the TOs, to the fans, and to his opponents, regardless of the size or notoriety of the tournament.
Obviously there are edge-cases between "not playing well" and "throwing the game", but picking a team-comp like this (just like Naniwa probe-rushing right at the start in the Blizzard Cup controversy) isn't one of them.
If you don't want to play, forfeit properly. Don't disrespect your opponent by trolling.

I'm not really sure about it yet, BUT comparing those two is just not fair. Bear in mind that Naniwa was not given the OPTION of forfeiting, so he trolled his match. Go4LoL has the OPTION of forfeiting, which means it's all the more disrespectful that CLG.eu didn't take that option. So while you may not think the event was as important, I think because of the rules involved, the actual grievance was more serious.
Also, I think people would care if the event was given enough visibility (people criticize pros for what they do on STREAM ffs). If people didn't say anything about a pro trolling a Go4SC2 match, it would have more to do with the fact that people don't follow them.

Seriously people are actually hard enough to give CLG.eu some shit just because they did one fun game and lost?
