Ahh, this game is a lot more entertaining when not playing seriously Lux decent support, can harass really good with E(pushes the lane tho), check brushes with E dont need no wards for brush control. If you can land a Q enemy will take tons of damage and Q shuts down agression pretty nicely by hitting 2 targets. Also @ 6, land a Q and you have a kill pretty much.

lol yeah. i managed to land a bunch of Q's early and my trist just did so much damage to them and then a shyv ganked and gave her double buff at like level 3. game kinda snowballed from there :D. Lux doesn't seem to be the type that protects people but she's a lot more fun to play as someone that can do big damage in lane

Can we talk AD carries for a sec?
Now I don't play AD carry, but I do play ALOT of support, and there are a couple of things I've been seeing at high elo that are trickling down to my level that I have never seen before.
First, what is everyone's thoughts on boots + 3 pots opening vs Dblade opening. Personally I've always thought Dblade start was categorically better than boots + pots opening, but lately I've seen more and more high elo streamers starting boots and it's starting to make me rethink my stance. I can think of 2 scenarios where I could see AD carries thinking that boots and potion are better.
1) Against Sona when your support is not soraka: Reason being that you are likely going to take alot of harass from sona, and without soraka, your ability to recover HP very early on is very limited, and you risk being zoned.
2) Superior movement speed allows you to trade harass without receiving any in return OR allows you to better dodge skillshot based harass (i.e. Sivir)
I can support the first scenario, but the second scenario is difficult for me to wrap my head around because I'm not sure if the movespeed will even allow you to harass in that manner. And in my mind, if you are trading harass as an AD carry with boots against an AD with a Doran's, you are going to lose the trade every time. And keep in mind that I'm not thinking of the jungler right now with the thought process that, as a support, I should be able to have a ward up the entire time before my AD backs for boots.
As a semi-related side note, Doublelift seems to start 21/0/9 on all his AD's, and I've always thought that you went 21/9/0 for the armor and bonus health/regen. Is the mana-regen and rune mastery that much better? Keep in mind that I do not typically play AD carry.

Boots vs Dblade: Personally, I believe that Boots+3 is the superior opening UNLESS you lane with Soraka. All other lanes benefit from not having to level heal early and the additional movement speed. The fact that a Sona can level Q, a Taric W or an alister Q/W without being scared of you loldieing at lvl 2-3 makes pots damn good in all agressive matchups.
The mana mastery is pretty damn good, only strong part of defense is the armor. :>

I wouldn't feel so bad for him. As long as CLG and TSM are away he's commanding almost all viewers. I wonder how much he's going to make during this time alone

That sounds awfully familiar. I don't think it counts for much when it's against Zillian support and Sivir has 900 ping
(I suppose it's possible that was a completely unrelated Trist/Lux bot lane Edit: No, I read your second post and now I'm certain <_<)

Don't quite understand how Leona supports either, I've always taken her as a tank that excels at initiating and focusing down specific heroes. Taric has a very balanced kit with auras, healing, and a hard CC, and his ultimate aura is stronger than baron buff at rank 2, nearly twice as strong at rank 3. He really brings teamfights together without having to communicate (his stun's slow projectile speed acts as a signal to teammates that they can move in/do whatever before it even lands), making him shine in solo queue. Since we're on the subject of supports, I'll add that I'm 5-3 with Soraka, 6-3 with Blitz, and 5-0 with Taric in ranked, all games in the 1400-1700 range (I don't think <1400 games require a support). I'd play more support except ... I fucking hate playing support--It feels like the worst thing ever. I don't care if all of those wins were replaced with solo/AD/jungler losses, because I'd have had more fun and gotten practice at those roles as well. But alas, there are only so many creeps on the map, and they are so easy to farm, that a player must take one for the team and deny themselves gold and shiny items, and it might as well be the last-pick.
I <3 support for that very reason. I like the feeling of zoning two enemies at bot, causing their mid and jungle to fail their ganks or even get counterganked, and giving our team maphax for madganx and buff control while keeping their team blind, ALL WITH 0 CS. Then at 20min in we teamfight and I land a sona ult on all 5 of em for a clean teamwipe, and they surrender. :D Bonus points if they rage before surrendering.

Erhm. qq. I just got shat on incredibly hard Sejuani vs Singed. Shat on ~ 30cs behind at lvl 10, 0-2-2 (2 successfull olaf ganks, their jungle got me once).
That was like the worst experience ever with her so far. Any thoughts on that matchup?

sda was on twitch (which I assume has rates competitive with own3d) for five days straight with up to 12k viewers, minimum of 6k, most times I looked they were around 9 or 10k, in 120 hours of high viewership streaming they made 432 dollars off ads. That is... three dollars six cents an hour. The base rates for streaming are really high but apparently there are a lot of factors that modify it down and from my outsider's perspective I find it impossible to estimate a stream's actual income.

Out of curiosity, which AP mids stand to gain (even minimal) benefit from the non-movespeed/AP portions of teamwide steroids like Hunter's Call, Radiance, Raise Morale & On The Hunt? Off the top of my head, Sion, Kassadin, Fizz and Gragas - any others? Do Tibbers or voidlings have these buffs applied to them?
|
I think voidlings have 1.0 AD scaling, so buffing Malz should buff the voidlings.

Zilean. I didn't feel like playing a regular support so I just mashed the random button a bunch of times. We probably could have won the lane if Categorist wasn't lagging crazy and feeding early. Plus I have a habit of misjudging Tristana lanes.

That Shyvanna really made that game, so much countering and the early Oracles destroyed Dig.
Edit: me dumb wrong thread

...and Day9 shouts "PLLAAAGGUUUUUUUUU" every time Smash chucks a spear at someones face.
This might bring a ton of new SC2 kids over to LoL.
