That's like the whole point of taking towers. Open up the map, and do shit with it. You can also do the split pushing strategy where you push beyond normal safety range, ward up, kill every1 1v1, force 1v2, or 1v3, and then just pursue other objectives on the map. As an ad bot, you don't want to take tower too early because you are useless without ie, or your name is not sivir.

I think the "0cs support" thing is unique to LoL purely because of the gold/5 items/runes that are available. Why take cs when you can just get 5 gold generators and sit there? I don't think gold/5 has anything to do with it. It's more due to the lack of gamechanging support items. A lot of it is just the bandwagon effect though, rather than any particular gameplay mechanic.

It's because in LoL big items are more efficient than small item and scale multiplicatively with each other. This means that your gold is usually most efficiently used on the character who already has the most gold. It's simply better to have 1 champ with IE + PD and 1 with nothing than it is to have 1 champ with IE and 1 with PD. Multiplicative scaling exists in DotA as well. TBH I'd attribute it more to the quality of support items and how they specifically interact with support kits in DotA. Most of the "support items" in LoL are generic aura items that can be put on champs of other roles. You're none the worse for wear putting WotA on your AP or Aegis on your jungler, because those give those champs stats they want anyway. There's nothing in LoL comparable to putting Blink Dagger on Earthshaker--it's not that somebody has to get the item, it's that the item itself lends so much to the hero's kit in particular as to outweigh the needs of other heroes by that point in the game. There's also the comparative high cost of end-tier carry items. The most expensive component in LoL is BF Sword, and after 1 BF item, it's generally a long time before a carry will be buying another one. Contrast this DotA where you have single item components that are in the 2k gold to 4k gold range. If you have some lane farm worth 1k gold before the next fight, you want to give it to someone who can finish items with it. If your carry is saving toward a 3.5k gold item that is a base component, then giving them that farm won't give you any advantage in a fight, but letting your support finish a 1.5-2k gold item will.

There is some decent information on Solomid, but very little quality control. If somebody says something stupid in a champ thread on TL, it will get pointed out and corrected. Not so with Solomid or Mobafire.

Can't support/heal someone that's 100% or 0% ![]() ^ This. But rather than "what heroes can keep others away", I ask myself (what to do with that?". Usually when I play Pantheon, I go 4-1 or something with a 50 cs lead (more like 80 to 30 by 15 minutes as my cs-ing needs work, but you get the idea), and shoved wave after shoved wave to make my (dead or blue-pilled) opponent lose exp/gold, the tower eventually falls (bonus points if the jungler came for an uneeded gank and pushed like mad once the enemy's dead). Since I don't know how to pull the lane (if my opponent doesn't push and there's no near tower to make him accumulate a bigger wave), once the lane's pushing for me I either wait for my opponent to push it back, going to roam during that time, or I ward and push it harder, hoping my jungler will understand that his counterpart's probably going to try and gank me. The later I avoid because of said communication issues, so it boils downs to two choices: - either I go to roam and help other lanes, which will allow my opponent to catch up eventually, so I'm dependant on my teammates to do something with the advantages I'll bring them, or I have to be really confident in my leading abilities (esp. in cases like Panth since he falls off, I wouldn't have the same problem with Irelia if I can snag some cs along the way), or - either I stay in the lane crushing my opponent. He's never going to catch up in cs, and probably not in farm, or really slowly. But in that case I'm not using my headstart: it's top lane, so whether I have a respectable, or really massive advantage doesn't matter so much as long as I have some kind of advantage, and I feel like snowballing so hard without making it affect the other lanes is kind of a waste. What do you usually do? I guess it's a question that is to be answered depending on the size of the advantage, the respective power curves of the involved champs, the state of the other lanes and the quality of the communication inside the team.

Ya I was being hyperbolic. Her ult CD is WAY too long. It should be more on like ECA. Its given the same sort of treatment as Mummy and Galio ult, but I just dont think it has the same power. I think her q does need to come down quite a bit 3 seconds at all levels, just because 19 seconds base at level 1 is kind of ridiculous. Should be more like 15-14-13-12-11 instead of 19-17-15-13-11. In a team built around gibbing people quickly she would be very very good. I dont think she will ever be a solo q champ just because she relies way to much on her team. But come a teamfight I just feel completely and stupidly useless because even while I can keep slowing people, I dont actually hurt them in the same way that malph, rammus, or amumu do. If I could make any set of changes to her, it would be the 2 I laid out above, then I would have her E cd scale down with level as well- to something like 5-6 seconds, then have it have the same damage scaling as her w (ie with her health) so that you can proc it over and over again to do damage. I mean, you cant run from Sej anyway, so I really dont see the problem in making her e a spammable damage spell in addition to the super slow.

I feel like after Merc Treads and Wit's End I can stand even with Singed and not be terribly afraid, with an Aegis I can start trying to kill him somewhere other than my tower. The last time I played this matchup as Nasus was pretty nightmarishly annoying, because he had a jungle Skarner helping him. My Nocturne did a really good of being there at the approriate time though. It felt like slogging up a moutain covered in mud and ice though... the entire time I'm seething thinking "Oh just wait you SOB... just wait." wit's end nasus.... what? anyway, singed totally fucks nasus in later teamfights too, I feel like I'm going crazy or something listening to this conversation. 75% AoE slow + a displacement ability CRUSHES Melee with no gap closer.

I may have to pick him up and give him a try. i regularly crush ppl solo top with le bear, and he has decent jungle too. As of yet (approx 10-15 games or so) I have yet to lose a lane with him (altho i'm sure he has some bad matchups). Honestly, if I was actually a solo top/jungle player i'd play bear 100x more. edit: note, this is normal games btw, and i'm pretty confident my normal elo is pretty damn low.
