You can get on IRC and ask him over PM to play Kennen. He usually obliges to people in his channel when they ask him to play one of the APs he usually mains.

Realistically all aps should be built like bruisers: survivability first priority, damage after. You do more damage by being alive long enough to cast a spell you otherwise wouldnt than by going glass cannon and dying after getting off 1 rotation. I'd say this is a reasonable development forward. Positioning can only mean so much when so many relevant anti-carry threats all have insane mobility. It also follows something of a precedent--people eventually realized that pure damage items in DotA like Buriza and Desolator weren't worth shit unless you were fed as fuck, and that rounded stats items that gave a mix of survivability and damage were generally the better buys.

Then they realize that cata is op and everyone goes cata-ROA. Then Riot nerfs cata and everyone alternates between ROA and 3 drings into cap Then everyone starts to go wota cuz of the lane and fight sustain. Now people starting to throw a tank item into an ap build to allow extra cast cycles before death. History has demonstrated a consistent shifting away from glass cannon and towards more sustain and beefiness on casters. The primary reason Catalyst was OP was because it gave you crazy lane sustain and the equivalent of a heal bait if you timed an all-in trade properly. This was also back before Riot adjusted mana regen to be less dependent on Runes/Masteries, so Catalyst made a huge difference in terms of maintaining mana levels. That's also why DRing*3 became the next big thing. You could always sustain your health with a few cheap potions, but mana was something you really needed to build for. Now stuff like WotA is common because mana isn't quite the issue it used to be and junglers constantly pass blue buffs to their AP mids. It's not that history has demonstrated a consistent shifting away from glass cannon builds, but a consistent shift toward whatever is the best method for winning a lane.

Went 15/0/13 in a normal off of Dcap Rylai's sorc boots, FON, and Warmogs. I've always thought the tankier mages (Swain, Morgana, Vlad, Kennen) would start to become something to idealize.

and froggen can build anivia like that because he is godly with her. Using the stun skillshot and then directing ppl into it by walling and predicting the pathfinding based on where he thinks they probably clicked in half a second is just oO.

It all depends on hero, it still makes sense to build pure damage on heroes with extreme burst, where decent positioning will allow them to survive for the one second every 10-15 that they need to be in danger. Not building tank on Cass and other heroes who need to sit in position in order to put out constant DPS is just silly though. I still think its niche though, most AP's are very bursty an can stay far back behind. Anivia is really the only other one than needs to get close in.
