It kinda depends. Bad nasus are going to tend to run in ahead of their team and run straight to a squishy and slow, instead of taking a slow on someone in the front and force them to react to your team. Nasus really doesn't have problems with kiting if you play your cards right, although obviously having anti melee abilities like slows and knockbacks is still going to help, but not any more than it does any other bruiser really. I'm also not going to agree that trynd is happy to trade farm with nasus, since nasus' W with max cdr like rapes trynd in teamfights and trynd is a pretty strong laner who shouldn't be as afraid as nasus of getting raped in lane. He also has insane anti tower diving and gank escapes which are 2 ways to shut down a mid/late game hero like nasus early on. of course her wall can be pretty good but right now there are so many champions who have an escape ability and the duration of the wall itself is really short. also her Q is not that great in my opinion.any good player can dodge it easily and you really have to go into the fight to be able to get anything from your ulti.
it just seems like the other aps are far more forgiving when it comes to making mistakes or beeing caught offguard. and even if you are feed it seems like champs like annie, cassio or kassadin are far more rewarding.
but maybe i havent yet played her enough to see her real potential Anivia is fucking crazy are you kidding me? You just spam ulti and E all day and you do batshit crazy damage with no AP, not to mention you are basically unkillable in a non onesided teamfight because of egg and like a rod of ages. Q and Wall you use in obvious situations especially together. Can't dodge a Q if someone is trying to chase you or if you wall them off and they have no where else to run and if they duke they have to sit in your ultimate longer. Watch froggen play anivia and go 8/1 in 10 minutes against SK with just like boots catalyst and blue buff.Anivias range means they can do all her damage from insane range and having great escapes with egg, Q, ulti and wall so it should be very hard to get caught on her. I only sees EUs play anivia but even in tournaments they carry EXTREMLY hard. (ocelote, moma both went like 10/1 when their whole team was feeding)
Where can I find that VOD?

Anytime he streams TBH, its his #1 champ

I have played a ton of Anivia and I can tell you with all certainty she is an extremely underrated champion. The wall at level 18 is probebly imbalanced. It can shut 2 idiots off from their whole team, while they stand in the pool taking e's and q's to the face. One of the easiest champs to get a 20 stack on mejai's because of the free GA passive. Get a 20 stack, a death cap, and a RoA then you're hard as hell to out damage, and even if your hp drops to 0 your team should have enough brains to save the egg and your hp goes back to full. The q is like Janna's q as far as level one fights go. Not quite as much cc, but it has a fast casting time.

Trynd is good because he basically should never lose top lane to anyone who isnt teemo. Like literally.

Man, I'm jungling Skarner and it's the funnest thing ever. Won like 7 normals in a row playing with my crappy roommate (how do you go 0/7 as fiddle I DON'T UNDERSTAND), always carry never not carry, especially when the other team doesn't have a jungler and I can perma-double buff. I am a ganking machine. Definitely buying when free week is over.

Do you guys think Anivia is fun to play? I want an AP to play other than Ryze. The cheaper the better, and Anivia is only 3k.

It's going to be frustrating to play early until you get good, also you probably want to play with a friend who plays a tank that can peel people off you. Anivia is I think one of the slowest champions in league, and it's very easy for an assassin to come pick her off in a teamfight if your egg is down. Another thing is Anivia does not synergize well with jungle fiddle or amumu, as both are relativly blue dependent. Lee sin is probably the best jungler for anivia because the sooner you get blue, the more you'll win your lane.

Anivia is the hero that people like to say is one of the best but the reality is that very few players are actually even competent at her. Jiji claims she's faceroll I guess, but I find most people are absolutely worthless at her, as she's much less faceroll than a lot of other AP heroes IMO. She has a dreadful attack animation that makes last-hitting a nightmare, she has unreliable hard CC (Q is slower than even Brand's Q), and if she falls behind it's an up-hill battle to try to be relevant again.
Also overall her AP ratio is worse, and her burst damage is subpar compared to most other AP heroes.

Isn't it pretty standard for AP carry to take all blues past the first now? This even happens at my extremely low ELO.

Anivia = godmode if you know what you're doing.

it's fun to pull off gosu looking shit with anivia but most of the time it doesn't work too well especially in solo queue
in 3 k range i recommend karthus if you want a different and fun ap champion, or gragas

I already own Karthus, I don't find him very fun. Gragas could be interesting, he's a 3k?

They buffed heal so fucking much, it's actually broken. I love taking it on twitch and eve. I usually good heal/ignite with them. It gives you just enough edge to burst the enemy down. And as being squishies, it turns you into a tank early/mid game.

If someone first picks or anything other than last picks tryn, you pick jax and completely counter him. This is also why you should never pick a solo top until last picks. FP is for junglers, and some ap/ad's that don't have straight counters.

When I pick Anivia it is usually to complement a team consisting of a lot of kiting type champions. What she doesn't have in damage she more than makes up for in utility. Ashe kites a guy past a wall and he gets sealed in by a wall and stunned.

Is Gragas really that strong of an ap? He has two nukes (one a nice utility ulti admittedly) but then he also has his bonus ad/damage reduction drunken rage and his bodyslam which aren't typical ap abilities.
TBH, I don't understand how he is supposed to be played.

Gragas has op sustain. He can regen mana (w) / health happy hour passive. His ap ratio's are high and they're all aoe abilities. The dash has a slow attatched which works well with rqe auto attack burst damage. He can be built tanky, but the best way to deal a ton of damage is with the ap build.

Can clear waves fast from a really long range. His damage reduc allows him to lane vs most champs well and has good sustain from w. Basically you can't really stop a competent gragas from farming with barrels, and his e is a good escape tool in lane (can also help clear creeps or position yourself to ult an enemy back/slow your enemy). Then come midgame his q is hitting for half your life with a really low cooldown and from really long range. The utility of his ulti is really nice too.
But because he's melee sometime a newer player might have trouble with him early laning before he has levels/AP. But lots of people have that problem with melee champs in lane.
