Sorry for the rather, eh, noncontributing post but I got a question.
I "quit" a few months ago. Well, as I hear Dominion is out, and I was stupid as hell and spent well over $60 to buy shit for this game when I was still in that "AMGTHISGAMEISTHEGREATEST" phase, I might as well start playing again. So I has some questions :D
* Dominion. How is it? Let me reword that. Where are the players who do the most for their team, and want to WIN rather than be spiteful as was so common beforehand, Dominion/Classic? Is Dominion even balanced?
* Back in the day I was a major jungler / tankyDPS-esque type of guy. There any major new names I should know about to potentially try out?
That's all I really got, but meh. Just wanting to be filled in on what I missed the past few months

Dominion is more of a fun minigame compared to Classic. Although there are imbalances, the standard gameplay and strategies are so underdeveloped that personal mechanics usually rules over imbalance. Additionally, people usually aren't total tryhards in dominion so you can have fun using any champion.
Wow.This jungle change is so fucking stupid I don't even know what to say....... Like what the hell kind of logic is that:"We dislike passive gameplay where junglers only stay in the jungle and farm mostly so we are going to make the jungle more farmable lol?!?!?"I don't even........

Jungle changes seem meh - at least before good game knowledge would help you predict when you likely were or weren't in danger of a gank or when you could counterjungle or etc. Now it sounds like you can't really make good use of that jungle knowledge.
Well, Fizz buff is because of his passive, which reduces minions damage. They are reducing base minion damage in next patch, so his passive will reduce a really higher % of minions dmg.
The sustain buff isn't a buff, but a nerf to champions without sustain, because of the potions nerf. Boot+3pots or Cloth+5pots wont be as viable anymore.
I don't know anything about eve nerfs though...
I think its a joke about how eve takes half damage from minions, but since now minions to less damage, its a 2ndry nerf to eve's passive.

Rammus is always a good pick, can never go wrong with him. GP offers a lot in dominion as well. Personally I don't see that many singed, but I always use him. Prolly my favorite champ to use in dominion. Akali is always a solid choice. Pretty much all the top solo queue champions in SR are solid in Dominion.

Depends on who you talk to but I think Dominion is stupid and not fun. So it's that at worst. At best? It's a fun little break if you don't have a lot of time to play but it certainly has no where near the depth or strategy as Classic and it's harder to carry imo.
It isn't balanced. It might be balanced with bans as I'm not sure but there are some champions that are just straight up broken on that map. I think they get perma banned in draft play but I can't say for sure as I never play Dominion anymore.

How long ago was it? Cause few months could be a pretty long time. GP had a brief stint as one of the best junglers but fell out of favor recently and usually plays in the lane. He's good. Nocturne/Lee Sin are new champions that are good junglers and bruisers. Riven and Shyvana might be great bruisers and both can jungle but I don't think anyone has fully figured out either champion although people are starting to get Riven more understood and she's pretty strong.
Sivir changes could honestly be a nerf. Unless her new stats are good enough to force her on par with current ADs that ricochet change honestly seems bad...unless of course the cooldown and mana cost is low. Jungle re-work is... :/
ricochet change was intended as a nerf as far as I could tell, but it's necessary with the quality of life changes described in that vid. even with the garbage range, Sivir could just kill the shit out of an entire team late game with ricochet, so if you're goin gto even out her early game, you have to nerf that aspect.

I'm just worried she'll go from the niche role of an amazing split pusher who wins lanes against people who can't push back to just a completely wasted pick. It's all speculation until they release numbers on her new range and her new base stats.

Currently Junglers DON`T just run around in the jungle. They gank the instant anyone passes over their half of the lane. They can do that since the long respawntimers on camps gives them "free time". Even if they fail a gank it´s still better than just waiting for camps to respawn. If there is a chance that a jungler won´t jump on you the instant you get aggressive in lane means you might actually push WITHOUT your whole team yelling at you.

And hence exactly why its a shitty change.
1. Junglers don't have to gank to be effective, being able to farm, thus lowering the skillcap of junglers. 2. Lane peeps don't have to make sure the lane isn't pushed, lowering the skillcap of laning.
I don't see what dynamic this adds into the game. I don't see how it raises the skillcap. I don't see how it creates interesting gameplay.

Yeah I don't see how that's a good thing... lol. Much rather have her be strong as a pretty standard ranged carry than that.
How does anything they did help that? Failing your gank now hurts more because the opportunity cost is much larger. You are now better off just afk farming your jungle because otherwise you'll fall behind due to the lowered gold and exp of each camp. If you leave lane and don't get the gold/exp from the kill you're going to be underleveled and underfarmed.
Stonewall already says how much you're stuck doing really inefficient routes in your jungle just to reach what a normal clear would get you now. There's less chance to gank and less reason to try.
If you don't have strong AoE clearing capabilities, you're SOL as a jungler. Expect Udyr and Skarner to be leaps and bounds above everyone else as a jungler because of their free move speed + fast aoe clearing. AFK farm never gank.
I'm so angry about all of this. I've been saying how they're going to fail (and fail exactly as they have) for months.

I think what happened was bushes were always warded, so ganks in super high ELO play, rarely worked out all that well, so what ended up happening, is junglr would finish their route, or do part1 of their route, try and gank, and nothing would happen, and they would end up walking to each lane, doing absolutely nothing, then waiting another minute or for shit to respawn. So now, by having faster respawn on small camp, junglr's can choose to come out of the jungle at any time, rather than the typical 4min clear time, timing.
I speculate new ricochet won't proc lifesteal on all the hits anymore. D: Although I do notice that level 1 ricochet appears to be hitting all 6! minions.
What is it with riot and changing things the moment I try them out, I have only been jungling 1 week and already i'm gonna have to learn everything AGAIN. Plus what they're saying in the patch preview makes zero sense.

I like Dominion, but nowadays I use it mostly for WotD as well as for playing with friends. The problem is that unlike SR it's so team oriented that it becomes really stale going solo, as you tend to just pick a kill hero and deathmatch the opponent. In organized play a lot of push-pull tactics (that you usually see happen 'by accident' in non-organized Dom) become pretty nuts.
With regards to balance, it's remarkably balanced at the moment. The most egregious hero is still Rammus (by a longshot - Shaco used to be up there but you can counterpick him and removal of Blessing really hurts his utility/late-game); otherwise you can generally play almost any hero as long as they slot into the setup. The big thing is that there's some rock-scissors-paper in play at bot lane so you end up having to swap heroes in and out, which is actually what leads to some of the game mechanics on Dom (organized teams will end up having skirmishes mid-map as they cycle heroes in and out of bot lane to hold it).
The reason why it can seem stale at non-organized is obviously because everyone just bumrushes top over and over again, so there isn't a whole lot of bush combat and such.
There's no real super win hero, but generally support heroes (Soraka Janna Sona in particular) have such tremendous utility and sustaining power that a team with support will often roll a team without; in non-organized most people won't pick support so it's often a free and easy win. Obviously this is less of a factor in organized because if one team sees support the other team isn't gonna fuck around and NOT pick support lol.
