From what I notice wickd gets flat hp regen quints and then just goes dorans shield and he gets the mana regen in utility and the health in defensive to make his dorans shield work as a mini philo+hog and never gets gold items at all. I think it's decent. Gold items are only must buys for me if I intend to get randuins/shurelyas. (Hello jungle udyr) Thinking about it: hp regen quints + dshield is like 16 hp/5 add runes and masteries and we have +3 mp5 +168 hp so we're not that far behind from philo hog although you lose the 4% damage reduction. Although I've been mostly going 0/9/21 on irelia especially if you aren't getting trinity I find the movement speed buff duration mana regen and cdr are all very useful over less minion damage, 48 hp, 4 MR and -4% damage. EDIT: Want to buy different icon for smash cause both having the same icons is hella confusing for me sometimes lol. Get 6k posts NAO smash. | ||

Cho is... really stupid if Cho plays passive. Turns into a farm fest. But early level damage is WAY in Jarman's favor, so it's like, up until 3 or 4, Jarman bosses him around and then it becomes a free farm fest because Cho is gay and can turn any matchup into that if he really wants. But most bad chos just die to me a lot and that's what I'm used to. | ||

I'm really good at making sure I get powerful items so that I can rambo and either kill people or not die to people (or both!). If I don't get powerful items, I am a tard because I always act like the game is on my shoulders and like I have to be proactive about winning the game, whereas traditional supports don't do that. With support Jarman though, Jarman + Trist gets a fuckton of kills, so much goddamn burst. | ||

When I've learned something of that then it's intelligent ward placement>ward spam. Hiding wards is often important, and being costeffective with them. When I first started to support in LoL then I was like "holy crap these things cost nothing and i can spam em on the whole map, idc when they find em cuz i just buy 5 new ones!". you can't believe how tempting it is to just spit em all over the map. But it's still dumb. You have to know why you place a ward and where you place it. A ward without a purpose that just hangs around hopeing to see sth is 90% of the time wasted, especially because of CV. thinking about what the opponents are doing at all times safes you a fuckton of gold. If you keep track of them with a few intelligently placed and mb some hidden wards then you can easily CV their faces everytime you need it. I still think wards are way too cheap! But still they cost gold which you can invest somewhere else if you do it right (luckily). So when were talking about "actual" supports: Just spamming wards often helps your team less than being strong yourself. Altruistic players often get trapped in the thought that they don't need to be strong themselves, despite the fact that all the aura and support items are actually ridiculously strong and make a huge difference even if you cannot see the effect directly. Mindless ward and oracle spam isn't helping to that extent. I often see support players doing this which is a playstile that is 100% depending on their teammates carrying them. The worst thing is early oracle spam on a 1k HP target like sona/soraka hell even taric and ali will just be useless/die during teamfights anyways. Those ppl completely forget the purpose of the pinkwards or mb even never thought of them as a staple item to have, while it's a so much more costefficient way to deny enemy ward coverage. A support can actually be very beefy with cheap support items as everyone knows which THEN makes him a viable oracles carrier and a much greater threat. Also since roaming is almost nonexistent during the early game you really dont need to have more than a couple wards in your inventory at the same time, which makes rushing gp/10 items super easy. | ||

You seem to believe that we're spitting wards all over the map. Quite untrue, we place a high amount of wards but they're placed in such locations that it completely locks down the other team for at least half the map. You can see one of my older threads about game design problems on SR for my complaints about how wards are too strong. | ||
