This means he cannot top lane, he struggles jungle, and he can kinda sorta bot if bot weren't infested with supports and ranged AD and AP carries. Whoops. utah, come on man, aren't you always talking about how stupid it is that people don't try more shit out in bot lane?

The difference with Riven is that her toolset is completely different and interesting, while playing differently. Wukong just plays like everyone else. IMO he's viable and useful, but other people bring what he brings and more, and better.

Have seen it attempted, it's not pretty >_< No disables, no sustain, terrible burst, like the only thing you can do is Soraka him or something but that's mostly riding the OP-ness of a certain support hero. I did a Janna-wukong lane, it worked well enough.

Edit: By which I mean he's really fun to play IMO, with his ridiculous CD dash, but his early-game is soooooooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Edit2: You know a hero has sustain issues when you get Wriggles and he cannot maintain HP in jungle.

I took a look at the Solomid/CLG/Mobafire/Leaguecraft forums and they looked pretty trash compared to TL :/ And the official forums are just another Battle.net forums clone :< Once you get used to TL-quality it's hard to go back...

Wukong has gap closer and escape for when they try to kite you back to tower, that whole thing with the ranged ad running into tower then chasing you to half all the way down is brutal and only ppl who can avoid it is viable as melee bot lane really. Skarner isn't anything new but I think he's a lot of fun. I'm waiting for Riot to cave and make the stat boosts from his W stick around after it breaks, like Janna's shield.

I really wonder about this wukong debate. He is strong imo. His laneing top isnt the best but its certainly not terrible compared to other weak laners like nasus, singed and an early game irelia. He doesnt scale as good as them into lategame if you just look at his raw duelist power. BUT he is exceptional in teambattles compared to most bruisers which is strange to seasoned bruiser/tank players because they are used to be strong in skirmish and weaker in 5on5 clashes. No sustain is an issue he has which can be solved by wriggles/philo and his harrass game is pretty strong against melee champs since he can force you to dive into his minions with his decoy. He is a strong solo pusher too because he wrecks waves with his AoE and turrets with his armor debuff (which is pretty huge no?) and at the same time teambattles are not as awkward with him as with most other tanks. Besides the insane aoe damage he provides he can fill different tactical roles depending on the situation. With his strong armor debuff he can help your carry to wreck that tank (LW from his carry+his Q is about 70%?!?) and his his damage and mobility is enough to chase their carry away if he is fine on his farm. I also dont find him boring, he is actually quite unique in his role and power. Is why I spent so much effort trying to make him work, but he just simply colossally fails at jungle. I from the other posts you made I think you are addressing his weak laneing with this? I find his pokes actually quite strong. preferably Hit->Q->E->W or E->Hit->Q->W if you have to. When your wave is pushing you can often autohit a few times to make his AS buff work before you W. Iam pretty sure you do this though. What is your general approach to him? I feel that he really has to do everything to get wriggles/philo ASAP. I'am very curious about your experience with him and what you can say about matchups etc. I just love this champs kit, dunno mb iam biased...

Within your own post you give reasons why wukong shouldn't be picked by stating Nasus and you are correct in that statement that if you are going to put a weak laner top you mine as well put one that will be scale really well like Nasus or Jax and not bother with Wukong. And then I say that wukong is a fast pusher and that he is exceptionally stong in 5on5 battles where other bruisers dont shine as much.
