Although I do think that swain is vastly underrated currently. Opening boots+3 with armor seals and the rest standard caster runes means that you can walk around and e people and always win health trades, something that only gets better when you hit 6.

It gets even worse by the fact that everyone always thinks that if you aren't going 99/0 with Swain then ofc you can't aim the W. The W is easy as hell to aim the problem is that every melee champ in the world seems to be able to dash or shift or whatever right out of it.


His passive relies on last hitting and Swain gets to enjoy what is possibly the worst last hitting kit in the game. Even his auto-atack is funky to hit with.

People pretend like you are some kind of tank but be caught out of position for a single second and you get 1-shot just as hard as that Brand that is doing 3x your damage. Simply the time that the birds need to fly out and fly back is enough to kill the bastard.


I just really hate Swain and too see people treat him like a hard counter for melee is just ridiculous. The only place melee can be found is on the top lane and all those melee champs would shit all over Swain. Lanewick? Laneudyr? He doesn't have the damage/mana to deal with that kind of regen. Nasus? Same story.

Hell even if he meets Garen i wouldn't bet my money on Swain. The Swain would have to play perfect non stop whilst the Garen would only need 1 chance to bring him down from 100% > 0%.

Swain is just an overall terrible champion that gets his ass kicked by more or less everyone. He doesn't have enough damage to play with the big boys up top and his CC is insanely overrated. If Swain hard counters melee then Sion must skullfuck them.

Fact is that Swain might shit on melee to some degree but even then you need to remember that everyone shits on melee. All AP champs and all ranged champs laugh their ass off against a melee champ. It's like letting Usain Bolt run against the fat kid in class. Yeah good going but we can all outrun the fat kid in class and we can all roflstomp melee champs.

At least that delay is predictable, I can develop a feeling for it and play accordingly. With UMP it seems like I would get a mix of laggy situations (enemies trying to hit me) and situations where the game somehow compensates for the delay (me trying to hit enemies).
Plus my character moves really choppily. In fact it feels as if I lose 100 movespeed due to all the choppiness when I am not running in a straight line.
