Alistar basically just rams in, knocks them up, ults....dies. Bad players like to pick him as support and like to knock enemies away too. You can argue Alistar doesn't need farm to do his job but if you look at all the other supports (soraka, taric, janna), they have much more utility than alistar does and they can stay back for most of the fight resulting in minimal deaths. Allistar doesn't need items to do his job, that's why. You might not accept that for some strange reason but that's just fact. His Q W and R all make him great without a single item. People pick him as support because he can heal his lanemate and it's hard to think of any champ that's better at babysitting a carry. His W and Q just make it impossible to start a fight against him. If his heal doesn't get nerfed he can end up being the best support in the game next patch. | ||

Alistar can baby sit the carry a lot like Janna where as she can provide protection from damage through shields/knockups/slows and at the same time use those spells offensively for her carry as well. Alistar's heal is kind of meh compared to Soraka but that just means his ranged carry will have to take less hits in the lane. What he does better in the lane than Soraka is something like protecting his carry from getting jumped on by ganks. And when the time is right a good Alistar can easily leave his carry bot and go up to mid for a gank. After the laning phase Alistar's role is nothing alike Soraka, Taric or Janna so you really can't compare the two. So yeah pretty much Alistar isn't even meant to be played as support even if he is put bot lane in the traditional "support" role. He can watch the carry get farm and buy some Gp/5 items but he definitely will not be sticking in the back during teamfights. | ||

You recommend Ashe as the best carry to learn on because she punishes mistakes and forces you to learn good play. Same deal here. If you can lasthit on Ryze, you can lasthit on a lot of other champions. | ||

Killing a tower doesn't cancel a teleport to it I think. It just teleports to the rubble of the tower (I think that's why the rubble is there. | ||
