Phreak's pretty good, although he's not a player that has ever intimidated me - he's a bit like me I guess if we take Smash's words:
[12:12:24 AM] Southlight : i think im inconsistent but never dominating [12:12:35 AM] Smash: you have a flatter consistency curve [12:12:48 AM] Smash: lower highs, higher lows
You'll rarely see Phreak go rampaging legendary pentakill holy god someone stop him, but he's almost always consistently okay-good. Like he'll rarely feed, and he knows what to do to stop the leaking.
Edit: Also I think Phreak's raged at me in every game I played with him on my team \o/

Isn't he also known has one of the best afk farmer?

He has to come up with those builds when the numbers aren't finalized and the champ has no play on the live realm. He is doing pretty good for showcasting something that isn't too familiar to him and doing it in any role.

Dunno, I've only ever seen him play Ezreal and he was pretty mobile with him back when I was decently rated.
Edit: lol Grandim I was tilting so hard in that game vs you. I killed the Cho but then the Panth started cockblocking me every single fucking time I was gonna kill Cho again, so then I started rushing things and got feasted twice rofl. Was so pissed off.

I wish Riot would try other people at commentating besides Phreak. Right now it is his job so he is the only one gaining any experience in doing it. So when a big tournament is being held, they say 'well who's the most experienced commentator?' and it is Phreak so they just keep feeding the cycle by having him do commentary making it harder and harder for people to break into the casting scene. The guys doing the ESL/NESL aren't much better.
The longer they have no replays/observer and only let a select few onto the tournament server the harder it is going to be for people who may have casting talent break into the scene.
Time will tell.

Bad early game from laning with Garen to you guys fucking with me mid game kinda set me into a spiraling dumbass rage, I was terrible by 20 minutes.

Hahah, I was tilting so hard at Cho and Panth that I made it my personal mission to go after Cho first every single fight, except when Brand wanted a piece of the pie. I don't think I went after you until the end when I Q'd you and crit for 1000 and lmao'd hahah. God damn that Panth.

Some people like them, but I wouldn't get them unless you plan to play really passively - if there is no chance to win the lane, no chance to lose the lane. Otherwise... the support typically decides a duo lane almost single handedly. So you want to push your earlygame strength to the max.

Agreed. It seems like the only other way it will happen is for people to just do their own thing like colby cheeze. I think cheeze had a very good idea and followed up on it; he probably just noticed the same thing you did and took an entrepreneurial attitude towards it, expanding beyond the ESL commentary. For the reasons you have said Phreak will be a commentator, I think he will be a pretty important commentator just because he has spent so much time doing it.
Its like how intelligence isnt as important for being good at the game itself as regular practice and lots of past experience, although intelligence and experience are both necessary for someone to be really good. (from what i can tell)
Whats scary is nobody at riot has the foresight to see this problem.

Not sure why we're picking on that guy, actually, 'cause the TL-wide League of Legends threads are full of fucking idiots.
So, on second thought, I apologize, Novalisk.

He might actually be right. hear me out! the people playing at sub level 30 now are wayyy worse just because so many people have signed up recently that have never played a moba before.
on my smurf i played a game where everyone complained about no tank as usual, so i told ashe to build tank as a joke, and then she did. tank ashe. this was at level 22...

Honestly, the sentiment should be true, but that's why we're laughing: it isn't. There isn't much of a difference between level 15 games and level 30 games, especially when people can smurf so easily.
It should be the way he describes, but it sadly isn't.

Yeah the system works a little bit. You don't have people that don't know the object of the game and don't know most of the champions and their abilities playing ranked. But by almost any definition, there are still plenty of people that suck playing ranked.

reading that thread just makes me sad. it's like how I would've felt about the Brawl vs. Melee flaming if Brawl didn't deserve it, :p lol.

I've won with tank ashe and I've even played jungle ashe. I don't see the problem here. :B
But yeah, the grind sucks overall if you're experienced but for people new to the game it's really really beneficial. You'll still have people who call 90% of the champs op and then feed on said champs that are "op" but you also get people in sc2 team games who rush carriers still and die in the first 5 mins because they build nothing except requirements for carriers, so...
Bad players are just a part of team games.

All you have to do is go through the QQ therapy thread to realize how many people actually suck in ranked play, and ranked definitely attracts more intentional trolling than normals.
