All credit goes to R04R, who also broke 1500 with that win, and carried super hard with last pick jungle Xin after 4 derp picks. Our first three were Vlad, TF (AP), and Nidalee, and I literally had no idea how to balance it out--Alistar/Udyr were banned, and I am pretty lacking in tanky AD champions that allow for three AP solos... (plus I haven't slept since Thursday morning) so I defaulted to Jax for the epic Jax/Nidalee vs Soraka/Garen bot lane. Basically neither side could cs and zone at the same time, at least until nid hits 6 and r04r pulls off crazy gankage while I just stacked gp5 items and jumped around. Also partial credit goes to enemy vayne, who went 1-7 in the first 17 minutes or so. Real WTF 22 minute game.
Finally feels like I'm learning LoL at a snail's pace, been hovering around 1450 pretty much forever--my elo pretty much never fluctuates beyond 50 points. Then again I don't spam ranked games, which I probably should.
Gratz. From my experiences with playing with you, you're a very strong player. Suprised you were only 1400~

Poppy's passive. Explain.
Is it all damage exceeding 10% of her current health is halved. For example:
If poppy has 1k health and she gets hits with an attack that would normally do 150 damage she would take 100 (10% of her health) + (150 - 100) / 2 (halving the damage over 100) = 125
Or does her passive simply just halve the damage of all attacks that are over 10% of her current health. For example:
If Poppy has 1k and she gets hit with an attack that would normally do 150 damage she would take 150 / 2 = 75 damage
The way the passive reads, I always felt like the latter situation was correct, but I saw a post on the LoL forums that seemed to disagree. Which one is right?

I find that kinda funny that my only two wins today in ranked are from using Galio, who supposedly is a crappy pick and is nearing the pantheon point.
And speaking of pantheon... Malz in one of our games got completely shut down by mid pantheon. Gave him 5ish kills ranging from level 3-9

At lower Elo, champion picks are rarely even half of the story. What's most important is having good fundamentals and understanding how to play your champion. If you're comfortable with Galio, you'll probably be better off playing him than picking something to help your team's composition.
Also, Flakes, I'm surprised TreeEskimo didn't just impart all his knowledge on you when you two lived together.

Because people never see these "bad" champs, they have no idea how to play against them (which is part of why they're supposed to be bad--because they're easy to play/pick against)--as such people will get wrecked because they play lanes/teamfights completely wrong against those champs.

One of my greatest pet peeves in LoL: Yelling at a teammate only after a bad fight occurred when the yeller himself carried through the action. Everyone makes mistakes. Hell, even those high elo guys on stream make mistakes. But to think you haven't taken part in the fight, disregarding your own argument, and making a scapegoat out of someone else..well, I guess that's part of being human :\

Fighting a bad 5v5 very often is going to yield a better result than letting your teammates fight a 4v5 (e.g. trade 3 for 2 instead of 4 for 1). From your individual standpoint, carrying through the fight will probably yield the best result when the fight has already been initiated, but that doesn't make the fight any more of a good idea, or make the team decision immune to criticism from you.

I think he described his playstyle perfectly when he was talking about why he loves lanewick so much. Wants to run up, Q some face, and keep coming at them forever. Amumu much more situational than that.

dont pick a champ that fits your team. pick a champ that you can carry with. dont get baited by idiot teammates. help idiot teammates win their lanes by ganking for them. accomplish objectives. i just got an account up to 1250 from about 1150 so it can be bronze for the end of the season and vayne was my favorite. a nice trick i picked up was afk farming and overextending but knowing when 3-4 enemies were on their way to gank me, so then i just leave before they get there. newbs are so predictable. it gets you a bunch of farm and gives your teammates a ton of safe time. when your teammates start a fight, they'll almost always lose, then you run in and clean up and push. oh, also recognize which enemy is doing the best and just constantly shut them down. if you are being happy-go-lucky about your carrying, you arent gonna carry newbs well. you've gotta have some vision about the things you have to accomplish to actually win the game.
