It really does happen over a long stretch. Just gotta play more games, as there are a lot of games that are uncarryable. It took me about 10 games from 1200 to 1400 way back in the day, and continued rising to 1500 at about the same rate, where I hovered for ages losing drive to try, then floating upward a bit more The closer you are to your correct skill level, the slower towards it you will rise for the most part, if you are supposed to be significantly higher than you're currently at it wont take a lot of games | ||

In other news ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/IZHM5.jpg) + Show Spoiler + All credit goes to R04R, who also broke 1500 with that win, and carried super hard with last pick jungle Xin after 4 derp picks. Our first three were Vlad, TF (AP), and Nidalee, and I literally had no idea how to balance it out--Alistar/Udyr were banned, and I am pretty lacking in tanky AD champions that allow for three AP solos... (plus I haven't slept since Thursday morning) so I defaulted to Jax for the epic Jax/Nidalee vs Soraka/Garen bot lane. Basically neither side could cs and zone at the same time, at least until nid hits 6 and r04r pulls off crazy gankage while I just stacked gp5 items and jumped around. Also partial credit goes to enemy vayne, who went 1-7 in the first 17 minutes or so. Real WTF 22 minute game. Finally feels like I'm learning LoL at a snail's pace, been hovering around 1450 pretty much forever--my elo pretty much never fluctuates beyond 50 points. Then again I don't spam ranked games, which I probably should. | ||

Just to comment on Yango's post below this, I love when teams get super cocky and way overextend their welcome in your base or around your jungle, don't ever go back to heal, always dive. It leads to some really funny happenings. On the other hand, the games where your losing whole game but they are too scared to ever push or do anything with their lead, those games are sad, but then you get the random late game turn arounds that way. Personally I'm still trying to find a healthy balance in my own play, I think i play too scared sometimes, idk. | ||

He's ~1350 Elo, if you're not seeing his mistakes and capable of taking advantage of them, then you're not playing well enough. As such, even if you're not more fed than the other team's carry, you can ensure your team's victory if you can do 2 things: First, you need to perform damage control in bad fights (i.e. just make sure that you don't lose the fight badly enough that they can take whatever they want--teams at that Elo are slow and sloppy about Baroning/pushing off a won teamfight, so as long as you don't get aced, you can generally prevent them from getting to push their advantage. Second is you need to capitalize on that game-losing mistake (and obviously not make them yourself when you're that fed). It doesn't matter how fed the enemy Nocturne is. If he gets caught by himself and picked off, you can still probably do something with his mistake. In many cases, 3-4 of his teammates will be stupid and turn him getting caught into a way worse situation for their team--then it's YOUR job to make sure your team is not slow and sloppy about pushing your advantage. | ||

We got a second baron, and brand and jarvan use it to farm jungle and lanes. They get our mid inhibitor down, so we "can't push until inhib is up" despite having baron and Leona being their only currently living champion. I get picked off in jungle because I'm bad, and they get brand too because he 'tried to save me'. They take our bottom inhibitor. They stay too long in our base, we run to baron, kill it, see Lux farming halfway up mid lane, and in quick succession pick off her, Teemo, Udyr, and someone else I forget who, and crush mid turret, inhibitor, and nexus. If you can drag it out to late game, just try and pick one person off and you'll often snowball out of control from there. Ezpz. | ||

It's even better when that 1 person has all their kills and most of their farm, and the enemy team has no chance of being able to fight without him, even under towers. Then in the post-game he'll rage about feeders and Elo hell when, despite being fed, he's the one that made the game-losing mistake. | ||

I just started ranked games...what do you do when your teammates can't tell the difference between you doing damage control and reinitiating a fight? XZ players for example are on a hair trigger to E in and then ult when they see someone move back a step. | ||
