Hi, everyone! Some of you may know me through my articles either here or in the SC2 forums, or from my participation in TL Strategy's podcast, Strat Chat. So basically, this is my attempt to go ahead and start doing a podcast series to teach and discuss elements of Heroes of the Storm in a more regular way than is possible with the more formal articles I write.

I'm projecting producing these podcasts 2-3 times a week, depending on my time and its success. For the time being, these are pre-recorded, but in the future, I might do them live.

I encourage comments and criticism, so let me know if there's anything I miss, anything you disagree with, or any pointers for a better production in the future! I don't have a banner yet, but I will be getting one soon!

P.S. I say Tassadar a few times instead of Zeratul O.o. Forgive me.

Episode 2 is up! P.S. I'm aware that there's a lot of static/dead air sound when I talk, but I figured out a solid solution right after I recorded this video, so in the future, it'll be a bit better quality.

For now I only watched the shrines video.

Here is what I was thinking:

The first 4,5 minutes could have been condensed to about 3 short sentences as they contained very little useful information.
The segment about the map changes seemed kind of bloated. I wondered if it wouldn't have been sufficient to mention the changes when discussing the heroes/mercenaries and general strategies.

I very much liked the parts about the shrine-fights. Both the positioning/tactics and the rotation/splits.

What I missed was any information about punisher 3-x. Like what damage can be expected by a naked punisher. Is it always best to push with him. Mercs always shortly before he dies or sometimes up front?

Or generally what clear time can be expected for 40 minions at what time. So you know if you can still do one merc camp or can/should contest at all when someone is waiting for revival.
Should you still push with the punisher if its 3v4 or split or do mercs? And so on.

Of course you might say that some of these questions go to deep or are beyond the scope of the video or are just to game dependent to answer(or I can find out on my own) and that is fine. Even without it I liked the video enough to watch the other(s).

I agree with your point about the first few minutes...I think I could have condensed them a lot, and it's probably the reason why the video went over the ~30 minute mark I usually set for myself with these videos.
The general rule of thumb for Punishers is that they won't get a lot of damage done if the gate and gate towers are still intact; good teams will bait the Punishers over the wall and they'll die fairly quickly. This becomes less of a rule as the game progresses and teams can tank towers (AKA like level 10+). I think I felt rushed to talk about all the necessary points that I forgot some of these details. Will address with the first bullet point in the future.
You can give up the first 20-30 seconds on the shrine, but you have to be confident that you will win or delay long enough afterwards. That said, starting a camp as the shrine is announced is okay, but any later will make you a bit too late to the shrine to really get anything out of it; you would have been better off just split pushing hard.

I'll work on trying to condense obvious information and talk more about gameplay in the future. Again, feedback is wonderful, and I'm thankful for every shred of criticism I can get!

Just to add to the idea of doing merc camps before shrines start: the key with this is making sure your allies don't all rush in to fight over the shrine while you are doing mercs. Be sure to tell your allies, or at least ping a lot, that you want to get mercs to push while you fight over the shrine so your allies can help you or wait. I've seen a lot of instances where a team doesn't notice someone doing mercs, charges in and loses a 4v5, then proceeds to blame the guy doing mercs for not being there.

Episode 3 is focused a little bit more on the player with Knowing Your Role! Did not manage to figure out a way to get the dead space out of the video, but I did find and eliminate a slight audio delay that was happening when I recorded. As always, please leave plenty of thoughts and criticism, thank you ^^.

I filmed this just before BlizzCon games started, but had some technical difficulties with my software which prevented me from uploading it immediately. Still, most of my predictions come true except for: Why is dafuq are Tassadars taking Mental Acuity -> Static Charge -> Force Wall and then Rewind later? What, that makes no sense!

Liquipedia doesn't have a talent calculator! HeroesNexus probably has the cleanest look of all the sites though...I'm just used to using Heroesfire.

In a follow-up episode to Soaking XP, I decided to explore the idea a bit more and explain how to identify and an advantage and know when to push versus when to soak lanes and gather experience. Quality is always improving, and I'm practicing speaking a bit more clearly!
