I was thinking about Support/healing as a role watching the drafts at the WC last night and thinking that there was a lack of variety in options for support until I counted them. Really only Rehgar (more recently), Lili, and Morales* (asterisk for being a recent addition) are the only three out of the ten that don't get picked up regularly on the list of supports either as complimentary healers or for utility (stuns/shields and force wall).
I get to wondering about if Zeratul was an issue for first pick/ban, Uther is getting to those levels as well. Not 1:1 comparison, but I think supports could use a tweak or two.

I wish healers were OP. In ranked my Uther has the lowest win rate because every time I play him, my team ends up dying despite divine shield because they overextend way too much, run away from me or flat out don't manage to do any damage. My Raynor has a much higher win rate because the opponents die before they can kill us.
Really, damage is OP. If you kill opponents before they kill you, you don't need that much healing.
...or I'm not good with Uther, which is a possibility.

Nah the majority of people just have a really low perception. So they don't notice if a healer is on cooldown or has his ult ready. This makes people play to save or to greedy. And thats why constant healers are better then Uther until you have team mates that know how an Uther plays.
Either way biggest issue that can happen is that you have a player that doesn't adapt. So they do their thing even if it doesn't fit into the team. In games without a support its less of an issue. But if you add supports to it gets more of a problem.
Chase down a Lanor ? without supports he will do enough damage that atleast one has to go heal up. Add a healer on both sides and you will have a 4v5 on your hands with an exp advantage. So their heals are even better. Still think heals should use the Enemy Level and not yours.

Am I allowed to rage at myself? One game put me on tilt and I just played like crap all night, at the expense of john and daunt.

Yeah I've had games where I was doing crap myself and the team suffered because of it.
One game as Uther I just kept missing the heals at just the right moment or missing the stun when it could've made a difference. Only thing to do is play again and learn from it unless you're really on tilt (in which case, take a break).
I play Uther quite a bit better now and have more fun and confidence playing him but there were games before where I may well have lost the team the game with him. When you then do finally get a good game in, it does feel great.
More annoying is if people totally flip over it. Raging and whining won't help me play Uther better.

Our Kael'thas sucks.
Its bad but not really, just normal.
Then ETC and Sonya flame him all game.
Long garden of terror game with one really bad guy, 2 flamers and the entire team playing a half assed game.
Except me, i try. Raynor tried for a bit but then just gave up, he was making calls but stopped and resigned to a slow death against plants and creeps.
To add insult to injury im playing monk vs murky and zeratul.
"I need Cleanse, divine palm and vision might help a lot too". As if i had a clone besides Kael, as if could manage all that with an uncoordinated team. 3spooky5me, stuff of nightmares. Happy Halloween.

Butcher and Zeratul just kept throwing themselves at the enemy team. Again and again.
With some coordination we could've had a decent shot since we had stuns available but they just kept dying over and over.

Kael'thas said "I don't support if you pick Abathur" (map was Haunted Mines). Abathur locked in anyways, so Kael locked in in protest as well. Screwing over everyone just because you want to play a hero or don't want someone else to play a hero is so annoying. Also, Kael'thas went AFK several times during the match, even though we were pretty even for most of the match.
If I had known that they'd throw such a fit or if they had pre-picked their heroes beforehand, I could have picked support, but no, they decided to throw the match in hero select.
