Man, I get this Morales a lot. In the dive meta, Morales is definitely a risky pick, but so many noobs will draft her blindly.
Ok I got our best friend in draft: insta lock 2nd pick noob Abathur . So, we tell him to not insta lock and please discuss before that. He says that he doesn't need to discuss as he's confident in his pick. I check his recent history and he's on a 3 defeat streak with Abathur so I tell him that he musn't be so sure. "I lost coz of russian kids these 3 games". The opponent picks Zeratul because, hey, it's not like you can counter 2nd picks, right ?
We all try to be positive as it's Infernal Shrines and he definitely can work. Well, he was bad. Dying in lane all the time to Zeratul (who needs to play safe anyway ?), wasting his ultimate after fight ended, and so.
After the game, I check his history a bit more, and he lost all 7 of his last Abathur games in HL, and he doesn't try to train in QM. I don't see why you'd be taking him at all at this point.

In hero league feels I am either on a massive win streak or a massive loss streak. Nothing in between. Masters to rank 2 diamond to masters promotion game to d1 demotion game to masters with maybe one or two results against the grain at most.

Is it just my experience, or are many players who are jerks to their teammates in chat Illidan players, at least in quickmatch?

We'll see. I've been playing since March 2015 and never been silenced. Apparently my troll tactics are under the radar enough that I never get silenced.
I suspect a key aspect is that I only troll people when they already started being rude. I think I read somewhere that if the person being mean is antagonized bliz doesn't take action.

I'm pretty sure we all will at some point, but being nitpicky and sometimes annoying ("do that, do this, prepick please..." and so) never caused me a ban. I started playing around february, march 2015.
Number 1 rule > no swearing, at all. I'm pretty sure if you say "sorry I fucked" and some people report you for abusive chat you'll get the ban, maybe not if your ban history is VERY clean. They probably have a script to check if you used bad words if someone reports you for abusive chat.
Got reported this evening (noob Muradin said it in chat so I reported him 2ce). I was Thrall, all team is around 3 death, 10 minutes in or so. Me 0 death, good DPS, holding lane vs Asmo all game except for fights.
I was late to a fight because I was defending Asmo + webweavers on top lane. Team gets wiped 4v4 mid on fort. It's my fault for sure. I carried them for 10 minutes flawlessly so I have to be the noob who made us lose. From now it was all chat insults everywhere. Reported everyone (i think blizzard takes it into account) who was flaming (not just me), so that was... everyone.
Oh and I got a game with a 1500 MMR Valla, who typed all game "ETC use R" because I wasn't moshing enough. ALL GAME. 1500 MMR, come on Blizzard, the average is 2400 MMR in all my games. (the other team was 2200 to 2500) That's pretty unfair. 2nd time this week.
edit: I also suspect if you get flagged as AFK and someone reports you as AFK you get more "bad points" in your reports record. It's simple, Blizzard cannot be behind every player, so the objective data they get automatically has some weight for sure. Reported for AFK + being AFK = BAD. Reported for abusive chat + swearing = BAD. Pretty sure they have this kind of script.

Care guys. Huge lags / disconnects right now. Don't play until it's fixed. I wish Blizzard would acknowledge this and cancel the games result in ranked. It was impossible to play.
(of course lost the game, this plus I needed 11 points for promo game so i lost 400 points because 200 is not enough)

Ok so I keep doing it (3 times in 10 days or so):
- Win, need 11 points for promotion.
- Win. (waste 180 points as the score is now locked on promo game)
- Lose, need 200 points for promotion.
- Win, need 10 or more points for promotion.
- Win, waste 150 to 180 points.
- Lose, need 200 points for promotion.
So, winning more than losing, but can't climb, because stupid as fuck ladder system. They said they'll fix it, but now it's just terrible. Of course you can be lucky and have this happen when you're supposed to be demoted.

Same here. I'm going up and down between Plat 3 and Gold 3. So... Basically a more extreme version of your experience. xD
And it doesn't seem to stop. And I'm really not too negative about all this, because I started to not give a flying fuck abiut HL, but it just seems weird.
So many games there's some guy who considwrs himself "awesome" on a specific hero and if you check his map history/hotslogs, it's his worst hero in the entire game. And for whatever readon these guys tend to be in my team all the time or never - nothing in between.

I player on BoE, was Jo. Everything was fine but we lose TF at 10 when Uther doesn't DS Kerrigan. We all say it to him, without flame.
So he goes angry, goes AFK, insults us all. Says it's all Kerri's fault (it was, she had 7 death already, twice what the rest of the team had alltogether).
Then disconnects, re-connects, feeds, AFKs and so. While the AI plays Uther we teamwipe them and actually start to win.
And he was premade with Kerrigan but they insulted each other too.
I think he's banned now, we all reported him 3 times (AFK / Feed / Insult).
edit: With this, and this week-end's terrible games, be it QM or HL, I think one thing is clear: there's a huge amount of new players. I got a lot of beginners in my HL games recently although we were winning a lot these days.

I think ETC is one of my worst heroes WR wise, but I feel pretty confident on him, I have no idea about the reality of the skill situation there but I wonder why this effect takes place...

Gazlowe prepick as soon as we enter draft. He's 5th. He says "I'll pick Gazlowe no matter what". Then as we don't agree with him (very politely though) he proceeds to flame and explain we're all low ranked noobs, that he was r1 when he stopped, that we'll never climb. So he says "I'll get Nazeebo".
We're discussing whether or not we ban Gaz. We don't.
Noone picks healer because everyone was more busy talking to him than realizing he'd never adapt. He's 5th. He locks Gazlowe.
Guess how it went ? We lost of course, although the game was tight. No healer late game was just too hard. Gaz got many reports so it's OK, he'll get banned very soon with that attitude.
Indeed, lots of new players, and lots of returning players too these days.

Well, at least he called you noobs so the reports might do something. I don't think there is any punishment bliz can dole out for someone just locking in gaz every game regardless of team comp.

omg, I had the same in the last days. Had to play 5 ! promotion games to climb, never losing more than the promotion game itself.
All the regular games were fine with more or less ok drafts.
Promo games:
2 games someone was afk for at least 10 minutes
1 game our last pick decides to pick nova instead of a Tank (We had none)
1 game we damage core to ~20% on garden and half health terror decides to back and hit walls. Team dies, counter push....
1 game was a loss were the enemy team just played well and we lost a close game.
I started thinking that matchmaking must put you with reported players in promotion to see if you can carry an almost unwinnable match
EDIT: So it was 6 games actually, winning the 6th and finally climbing...
