I love that combo druid nerf. Killing FoN was the right call. A combo that does mini 14 damage from hand before turn 10 is ridiculous as well as the absolute need to clear the entire druid board every single turn after turn 6, because if you just leave 1 minion for 1 turn the combo becomes easily 20+.
Glad I won't have to deal with that again.

I think a common mistake people make is thinking that either Force of Nature OR Savage Roar was the problem, and start arguing about which one it "really" is. The fact is that both cards contribute equally to the combo, so nerfing either one will do just fine, but in terms of future design space Force of Nature is more problematic, summoning 3 charge minions. Blizzard made the call, and I personally agree that it's the best one long-term.

I also kind of like how Force of Nature works now, I don't get what the complaining is about.

I like FoN as well but my concern is the flexibility of svage roar allows it to be use outside of FoN whereas FoN is weaker without Roar by comparision. A good example of this is egg druid and all the crazy turn 4-6 kills they can get. Personally FoN by itself is fine either version of the card. What roar did to enable it, and force druids to make their decks around was the concern.

That's more of a bandaid answer, Loatheb never really countered Miracle Rogue like it was supposed to, it just made midrange decks stronger by preventing answers to their board. Better to change the combo and make the game less burst-oriented.

The problem with Loatheb is that he's so all-or-nothing. Drawing him and playing him at the right time basically guarantees victory against a host of spell-oriented decks, but otherwise, you lose. He's only a single copy, and this "right time" isn't deep into the lategame, so it makes the game pretty luck-oriented.

Loatheb actually helps force/roar combo decks because its impossible to deal with their board once he is played.

Very common play: T10 Loatheb + Druid of the Claw. Sometimes even innervate + another minion.
Very obvious what's going to happen next turn.
I lost so many games this way to Druid and Rogue i would have won otherwise if it wasn't for its shitty effect.

He won't be missed. Just Thaurissan left now.
