I'm being perfectly serious when I say it's awful. I don't quite understand how Frostcaller is supposed to lose you the game, when the effect seems perfectly beneficial and predictable. However, instead of arguing about a card you're convinced is horrible, how about you simply offer an opinion on the card and wait until it can see play? This arguing about a card that doesn't really exist thing is an exercise I'm not really interested in.

I like the mage card. Not every card needs to find its place immediately in existing deck archetypes. Maybe we see some more frozen target synergy two expansions from now. With both spell and frozen target synergie Blizzard has to be careful not to create something really broken, so I understand the very conservative costing.
Kinda like Illuminator, it has a unique ability and seems pretty bad. But when you can make it work in some niche deck with nice synergy it can be really rewarding to play.
And its not too hard to imagine some scenario, where this can be useful.

Since no one posted it, there's a new uncomfirmed mage common: 3 mana 2/2. Battlecry: Deal 1 damage to every enemy minion
|
seems like better alternative to arcane explosion vs aggro, 1 health swarm decks, downside is it doesnt benefit from spell power+ doesnt activate "when you cast a spell" effects ideal situation: use it to clear worgen + serg + lepers +wolf vs hunter, use minion to kill the next arcane or huffer (chances of skillhunter getting misha or leoric are pretty small anyway :D)
|
This can also be good vs the new divine shield paladin aggro, in case it ever becomes meta. Even if competitive spirit triggers, those minions would be at 2 health without divine should, so this can trade with them.

This card would have been awesome and more mage like if the text was "Battlecry: cast arcane explosion". Although no minion has ever directly casted a spell before yogg. It's not too OP if it doesn't trigger effects like flamewaker just like yogg

I don't remember if Spell Damage was included in that or not, but it doesn't make too big a difference imo. The card itself looks decent, I like that a minion has the Arcane Explosion effect.

Hey, that's not funny, i spent 5 mins thinking how does hunter get leoric and under what circumstances he would play him T.T

They really really want mage to run arcane explosion. They stooped as far as to give you a value minion with said effect so you cant possibly refuse, right? lols

Neat card. Costs something like 1.5 mana for Arcane Explosion's effect, which is right about where it should be. Pity they can't do anything about the actual spell.

It's perfectly possible to create cards that either make it better, or give it to you as part of another cards effect, that's usually been Blizzard's way of making previously useless cards relevant again, but the card's never really been used, so I won't really notice if it continues to not see play.

Yeah, and I think I remember getting handed a really filthy Arena win off the back of Ethereal Conjurer getting me an Explosion. It's nice to get to use weak but potentially decent cards under circumstances like that. I'll admit, though, I'm biased: I just like the "Bwaaaaam!" you get from it.
