Many of you have probably not heard (and im not sure why im the one announcing this lol) but Mani is having another child! I think it's a boy but i'll just change the thread title if it isn't!
First of all congrats Mani
Second, (and here is where you nerds come in) Manifesto7 has 100% solid A+ agreed in blood that if we chose a name via poll he will 100% absolutely guaranteed positively name his child whatever we chose.
NOW Because this is Teamliquid and everyone thinks we are elitist assholes (i concur with this assessment) we will have rules.
1) Posting just a name with no backup with result in an immediate ban. Im not even kidding. If you spam, we will abort you (lololol). 2) You need backup for your name selection. Even if its just a couple lines or whatever. 3) You can post as many entries as you want
At the end of the week we will have a poll and blah blah you know the rest, the child will be named as such
Edit: The kid's last name will be Ono (wife's last name)
edit for noob Kennigit:

If the child is a boy, the middle name will probably be Hyde, which was my grandfather's last name. I have no idea for a daughter middle name.

My Entry
Raynor - i always wanted to call my dog Raynor (and by always i mean since a few months ago) and this would time in perfectly with it's birth and SC2 and TL blah blah. It can be raised into a true progamer
it is the name of a fucking dragon dog from "The Never Ending Story" and it screams ATREYUUUUUU
It also has a friendly voice and can carry small boys across distant lands. If you don't like the name "falcor" after saying it out loud you are probably a fucking fruit.
Quite possibly the greatest name I've ever heard. He was caught robbing a store and I saw it on Fark. But let's be honest, any reasons I have for picking the name are dwarfed by the sheer awesomeness that is the name.
Let's break it down:
Quan: Sounds like swan, mon, john and numerous other things. Just say it: "QUAN!". How awesome would that be as a greeting?
tav: Another possible nickname, but nothing too interesting.
ious: All the best names end in "ious". Sounds like a New Yorker saying "i.o.u...s"
Best name ever. Quantavious!
(Seriously, I've always liked Jason. Put me down for that.)
I was gonna suggest a name like "Aron" or something like that, but seeing your Raynor suggestion... gonna have to go with Arcturus. Quintessential SC name, plus it sounds badass. Mani, do you have any preference between Anglo names versus Japanese names?
I'm actually rather curious how Mani got his wife to agree to this. As for the name, I would suggest "Celeste". I've always liked the way the name itself sounded, and although I am not a religious person, I can appreciate what its meaning: heavenly.
I'd assume it means carrier of Ben, so have him first, then have Ben second, and when he gives his brother a piggy back ride you can sit back and know that a single human on the earth completely fulfilled his purpose in life thanks to you.

I support Magnus for a boy. As for the Maggie comment, there's almost always a way you can alter a name to have it make fun of the person, if that's part of the worry. If not, my great uncle's name is Magnus, and everyone just calls him Mag (or Uncle Mag). Mag, while not the best nickname, were the names of the bitching helper pals in PSO, so that's a plus. But I personally love the name Magnus, and don't see any reason to shorten it. You could always derive a nickname from his middle name, if Magnus is too manly to handle.

As for the name, I suggest naming your child something from literature so it has a meaning.
How about Aïda? From the opera of the same name. She's a princess! I think it's really pretty, tbh.
And the opera is nice as well.
How about telling us a little bit about yourself, Mani? So we can come up with some fitting suggestions.
Call him Iago. With a name like that, he can't go wrong!
Why: Iago is the most awesome character in Othello, and is regarded as the greatest villain in Western literature. Manifesto's son would be undoubtedly become famous!
I think that having an uncommon name is important. Lots of people complain that they share their first name with a tonne of people, but at the moment I don't know anyone named Wade, and I don't really know any celebrities named Wade that are gonna make the name popular either. We'll probably see a tonne of "Hugh"s after Hugh Laurie, but we won't see any Wades. Also, W is a really cool letter in the alphabet, and when your name starts with a cool letter, you're destined for success. It's also not horrendously foreign so you don't look like one of those artsy people who names their kid after something common in Africa.
I like "Jackie" as well, but only if it's a girl. I think it's a tough sounding name on a girl :o I would suggest something silly like "Mungo" just because it's awesome, but I can't imagine it being the greatest name for success either.

Magnus Reach Allen
Btw, does Hanna speak better Japanese than you yet Mani?
Cygnus. That would be a sweet name and probably what I will name my kid. It it the name of a constellation which houses a mysterious invisible force, the black-hole X-1. It also the name of a badass Rush song from the album Farewell to Kings.

Else I would go with William -another 2 l name- Allen Have yet to meet a William (who goes by william) who isn't great at school haha. Also i like the double l thing going on.
Don't give a name that's long or in any way strange, like all of the names given so far. Just be nice to the poor kid, and give him a very simple name like Chris or John or Tim (maybe not Tim Allen lol). It'll make his life way easier.
Zeek, like the fighter planes. Plus I just think it's a badass name; it's what my name would have been if it weren't for my mother and what I plan to name my son. Plus, who's kid is named Zeek? No one thats who, everyone wants their kid to it be special, you can make it so.
Depends on how strange Also never long names without cool nicknames, names that are too common like Chris tend to be later disliked just out of how common it is.
First, I'd like to throw in my support for Magnus, on the grounds that it is the most badass sounding name in the world that is actually a name. And it reminds me of that guy Magnus ver Magnusson from the World's Strongest Man competitions.
Second, Zeus. I mean, he's the king of the gods, throws lightning, does awesome ceremonies, and accidentally curses in the middle of a 2v2 game. What more do you need in a child?
Third, Iverson. Sure, it's not really a name but just imagine the first time he goes into a classroom and the teacher calls "Allen, Iverson". If you go with this name, I suggest corn rows. I guess that's a no go
Toki, because I am a huge fan of Metalocalypse, and its not too weird like Skwissgaar. Its also fairly interesting and not terribly over used. If girl: Madison. One of my favorite names ever.
Cavalier if its a boy. You can call him Cavvy for short. Plus, his first name is Cavalier, so he's pretty much going to be boning high school chicks when he's 10 with a name like that.

CONAN O BRIEN IS WRONG BLAZE IS A SUCKKY NAME Conan is a more awesome name anyways.
Don't believe me look up people on facebook with the name you are suggesting before you say it's a good name, I'm a believe that names do have a significant effect on the person with it.
Amira(Makam) because it is a very tasty candy which just happens to be on my desk. also sounds like a cool name (although probably wanna check vietnamese dictionary first)

Ono eh humm. I should get my gf on this she would love it.
Allen Ono - sound funny ofc again no way to know how Ono really sounds
Mani Ono - sounds funny again names too short in the wrong way.
Bah....Ono is not white sounding for a good old european/american first name nothing sounds natural.
Need one with a lot of vowels. Mani seems fine but cant seem to make it sound well enough in my head.
Something Hyde Ono ... Huu Hyde Ono - I just know a awesome huu
who is dating a girl with last name Hu so we are pressuring him to take her name if they ever get married.
Imo girl
Brody long reason just a personal like.
Temperance Ono another girls name Just like how it sounds. Also temperance has good meaning to the name.
I don't have much importance for middle names as they are rarely used except in making a name sound smooth or trying to give meaning to a name. People rarely know my middle name to be ryan.
This is going to sound SO stupid and extremely boring, but for a boy I would go with Michael. They can shorten it to 'Mike' if they want and there is nothing outstanding about the name what-so-ever.
The reason I suggest this name is because I know (as I'm sure we all do) people with unique names and most the time they just find them frustrating and annoying. People will tend to care more about their name when they first meet than the actual person. Imagine having to explain your name everytime you met someone new, that would be rather bothersome to me.
If a person wants their own unique name they can easily make their own nickname and have people call them by that. I think sticking to basics allows them to decide what they want to deal with later in their life.
Those are just my thoughts, sorry that they are fairly boring
edit: And also having to explain 'yeah, my dad named me after some videogame... i was lucky he didnt call me 'mario'' is also something I'm not sure I'd want to live with.
Link. He's the ultimate hero/badass ever. Also, in the book about Ruby Bridges there's a guy named Link who helps her. So if you name your kid Link he'll grow up to be sexy selfless hero, can't go wrong there.

if it's a boy: carl - because it's a unique and pimp name. its derived from charles, a name given to many kings meaning "free man", michaelangelo - after the renaissance man. rhymes with ono as well,
if it's a girl: symphony - a lyrical, beautiful and unique name.
Edit: Last name changes after seeing Mani's post above. Edit 2: Ono is originated from the word "field". With a bit of "imagination", you could interpret that as freedom, which fits with Farren.
Imo someone should put the poll on the front page or something when ever it comes up. or the tiny poll to the right, although i feel people don't comment enough on those.
Hyde Light Ono - A boy who brings love, peace and light upon you every morning.
For a girl Yuko Hikari Ono.
HIKARI Gender: Feminine Usage: Japanese Other Scripts: 光 (Japanese) Means "light" in Japanese. It is often written ひかり using the hiragana writing system.
Do I need to explain why? That is a fucking awesome name, also very manly. And it's even the same name as that dude on Pokemon who looks asian/half-black/wtf? If he's part Japanese it suits him, and it sounds like a badass name for a leader of the Yakuza. Seriously, consider.

She is NOT going to be happy when she learns she will have to share attention with the new baby. I'm not really looking forward to that.
I have a friend who when she had a child gave her other child several presents here and there throughout the pregnancy and told her it was from the up coming baby. Something like that - Ionno how well it actually worked but those two kids always have liked each other, could just be from good parenting as she is like the best f-ing parent i know.

Then how about Ken? Normal name in both Japan and America. Also Ken in SF wore red lol.
How about Idra? I'm assuming that he'll win WCG USA as well as most of the other 2008 tournaments, this way he'll be immortalized for, er, an expected 70 years. He might even end up as the strongest non-Korean SC1 player ever (due to SC2 coming out and the continuous increases in skill level). If that doesn't merit kids named being after you, I don't know what does. He'll also be a white boy living in Asia. It's serious enough that it deserves merit, yet has a high enough irony factor.
#1 Everyone will ask how you pronounce it. People say Eye-dra when it was copied off indra. If Japanese have similar pronunciations as Koreans, they won't be able to pronounce it, so it'll be pronounced Ee-du-la by Asians, Eye-dra by westerns, and techincally be ih-dra. #2 Teenage Idra Ono. enraged Manifesto: stop being so bm! Don't make me ban you! Idra Ono: What are you talking about? Manifesto: Where do you get this from? #3 Any bad blood between Manifesto and Idra becomes multiplied exponentially #4 White-asian kids often have brown hair, he'll probably be into computers so there's a good chance he'll need glasses, and he can dress up as Harry Potter on Halloween.
I guess the backup would be Greg Fields Allen Ono, although I'm sure I could come up with something better like Greg Reach Fields Allen Ono or Greg Terran Fields Ono.
it suits lots of different people, like, if you see a big muscular football player named Ryan or a skinny nerdy guy named Ryan neither of those names strikes you as unsuitable. so no matter what kind of person he turns out to be nobody will ever be like "Who named this nerdy kid 'Magnus' seriously?"
Try hybrid of your mother and wifes mothers names?Thats how we came up with Ayanna's middle name Kawen. Kaa(like a crow)win.
Jana (Yaa-Na) It was a roommate of Jen and Is before Ayanna was born.Playing around with her name we came up with Ayanna.Found out it means something like blossiming flower in an African language(forgot which one)But I really just like the sound of it.
How bout Nero, when his time comes, he will see the world burn beneath his feet, while he laughs (like Kira). If it is a girl, than Navy, because Zelda is awesome.
I think names that start with A are usually tough and names with the "ion"/ "ian" sound are cool/manly.
Artemis, Entreri, Tyrion, and Arcturus are all fictional BAMF. Alphonse/Elric are from Full Metal Alchemist but the reason I like them because they sound royal.
Also people might want to check this out: (maybe put it in the OP)?
LOL mani if the boy grows up in Japan and has the middle name "hyde", girls will either (a) think the parents were loltastic l'arc en ciel fans, or (b) WANT HIS BABIES
I really like James. I dunno if you like biblical names and such, but that place isn't actually a bad place to look for names, or so I heard. I'd personally propose Eric. I know 2 Erics, and they're both cool, easy going and friendly guys.
Edit: Ohh right, a girls name - Joanna. Every Joanna I met was super hot, and I really like this name.
Oliver, sounds good with Ono. From the French Olivier, believed to be an old French version of the Germanic name Alfihar. The name is also associated with the olive tree and therefore peace. Oliver was the 173rd most popular boy's name in the US in 2006, but the third most popular in the UK in 2007. In literature, perhaps the most famous Oliver is Dickens' Oliver Twist.

My daughter's name is Hanna, so yes I like biblical names
I recommend a name that is both natural in Japan and in the US and that can be written using kanji.
Ken is a good example. But I am sure as a Japanese speaker it's a lot easier to think of more.
Maybe Sara is possible. You write 理佐(Risa) and claim it's Lisa in English?
When I see the name of your first child I wonder why it is 'Hanna' and not 'Hana'. Because 花 would be another example. Maybe it's too old fashioned for a Japanese name? I wonder if you register a western name on a Japanese birth certificate/passport if you use katakana or alphabet. I guess you can choose yourself. But, are kanji ever used on a western passport? I mean, they won't know how to type it and they won't know how it reads. Hmm...
If you like biblical names I suggest Caspar/Casper. It sounds good, is the name of a king or wise man and derives from Gizbar, a babylonian word meaning Treasurer or Master of the Treasure. Little kids might make fun of the name but if he grows up in japan I think it won't be a problem and people making fun of your name is not really hurting.

We chose to write Hanna in katakana, because her middle name is in katakana as well. Had we wanted a kanji first name we would have chosen Hana.
On her Canadian passport they just use the romaji of the name.
There are several names that work across both languages, more for girls than boys though. Hana, Lisa (Risa), Karen (Karin), Naomi, Megumi, etc. That isn't so important to me though, as foreign names are so common in Canada that it won't be a big deal. Something acceptable in Japan is more important.
First, Congratulation!!! Dont have any suggestion though But i like your idea Mani, something easy to pronounce in the West and accepted in Japan would be awesome
Naming children is such a joy, even if they are not yours.
For a girl, I would say it partially depends on the character of the mother. For generic names I like:
Virginia- For purity, innocence, as well as a somewhat WASP association. Heloise- I would say, tending to its historical association, someone high-witted, intellectual as well as passionate. Maria- I would reserve this one for at least one Catholic parent. Freyja- Now here is an interesting name if you do not mind its pagan origins, since she was the fairest of the goddesses, as well as a mighty figure. Elizabeth- Out of a series of glorious literary and historical associations, of the which Elizabeth of York, Elizabeth Bennet, Elisabeth of Wangerian yore, and dear Sissi. Eurydice- I have always loved this one for its archaic sound, as well as its inspiration of divine love.
I'm going to jump on the Raynor wagon here, this is my reasoning.
A) Raynor was the most badass guy in SC. I mean seriously. He kicked ass. B) IF the topic ever comes up, don't you want to be like "your name came from this guy. He drives a Vulture bike. Maybe one day you'll be as badass as him and be able to drive a vulture bike." Who would want to be a dragoon or a weird ass tentacly alien thing? C) We already discovered Zerg eggs in the sewers of North Carolina, what if by naming your son (at least we think he's a boy so far. ) Raynor, you start the series of events that turn SC into real life!?
...sure we'd all get mutilated by zerg but meh, I'm alright with that. Also, congrats!! :D
Ermac I'm not going to lie to you, I stole this name from the Mortal Kombat 3 character But still, I think it sounds pretty bad ass, and not especially weird or anything either.
Boy: Shawn; because it's a wonderful name and because Shawn Lane rocked and deserves to be remembered. Girl: Shawn; because it's a wonderful name and because Shawn Lane rocked and deserves to be remembered.

Why the metronymic family name?
I would like to avoide using the sound /v/ because Japanese does not reproduce the sound well. (Even in the written form it requires a vowel followed by a modifier. Similarly /r/ and /l/ in Japanese are hard to reconcile, although I like Freyja very much. In Japanese it would end up being "fu-re-ii-ya" due to the vowel/consonant-vowel structure of the language.
Elizabeth is Hanna's middle name so I wouldn't use that either, but it is an excellent choice. It was my mother's middle name and my great-grandmother's name.
Maria is very classic, and translates well between the two languages. (Ma-ri-a).
We decided to use Yuko's last name for a few reasons. Having a Japanese family name makes life easier living in Japan. Yuko's father has no sons, so if I were Japanese I may have taken the family name (Trevor Ono anyone? :p) If we end up staying in Japan permanently then carrying the family name may have importance in that regard. If we relocate to Canada permenantly when the children are still young I would change everyone's name to Allen though.
Seriously everyone, although this thread is for fun, it is great to get many ideas. It is really nice to see international suggestions, and what is popular in different areas.
First of all, congratulations! haha cool, your sons middle name will be my username on TL.
How about Bryan? (ブライアン), it means noble, strong, virtuous (it also means hill, not sure what that is suppose to imply, maybe your son will be tall, I don't know haha)
I might as well give some suggestions of some Arabic names that might sound good in Japanese. For a boy: Kamil - pronounced here as Ka(as from Karma)-mill Faizan - My name - pronounced as Fey-Zaaan Daniyal - the arabic version of Danial - pronounced as Daaan-e-yaal I don't think any other names would sound good though - from the top of my head.
For girls Alina - always a good choice Anum Nimra is a possibility - but I guess it will most probably be pronounced as Nimla in Japan no? Suhanna - Sue-haaaa-na
If you want the meanings of these names I could tell u that as well. Just don't remember all of them atm.
Satomi or Natsumi if it's a girl, i don't remember all the kanjis but i think they mean Smart, Beautiful and Summer if i'm not mistaken, sounds so bright and positive in a way.
If it's a guy i would go with Goro because it's on the same level of manliness as Reach.

That is genius! Paris works as a guys or girls name too! Plus a random quote about parricide from wikipedia.. "In Japan, parricide once brought heavy punishment. Because of the Chiyo Aizawa case, however, the law was abolished."
Now for my suggestion, since you're currently living in Japan and it's just so foreign to name your child "Clive" or any british name that's not that used..
I usually have a hard time telling my name in restaurant reservations, local client meetings etc. (because usually they would think my name is "clyde" and not "clive"
LOL, sometimes they even hear it as steve or dave. (bunch of no listening skills type of people)
Best part of it, I do have a step dad there in Japan and he calls me "Cribu"
This is awesome, imagine if your father came to you one day and say: - Son, come here, I have something to show you.. *opens teamliquid* - This is how you were named.
The great thing is it will really happen for this kid Congrats Mani!
I personally like the name Jin (神 or maybe 仁), sounds cool whether you live in Japan or an English speaking country. I like Shin too but might sound weird for englishspeakers.
The name of the greatest general to have ever lived, Alexander was brought up to be a warrior but also received education from one of the greatest ancient minds, Aristotle. Alexander was never defeated in battle, and the vast empire that he created was unable to survive after his death, which is a testament to his greatness.
When your son grows into an undefeatable, progaming wrecking machine, he might as well have a name that does him justice!
Jae (like the bird Blue JAY which are also very pretty), it's a really simple name that looks clean and nice, seems like it could be a unisex name so it could go for both boys and girls + you it's used in some Korean names so your child could have a indirect tie to your starcraft heritage ^^.
Don't give your child some overly unique name, they'll hate it and don't give them a long name because they'll have having to write it out (unless the name allows for a shortening of it).
I was never a big fan of him but I think it's a cool name anyway. He is pretty good too.
2. Lawrence
As a somewhat more plausible entry, I will submit my middle name ^__^. It's a really awesome name imo, I wish it was my first name. It makes it sounds like you are going to go somewhere, as opposed to some boring mundane name.
On July 08 2009 04:23 xMiragex wrote: i find Ren for a guy to sound cool, then again Ren Ono seems weird.
Unfortunately it sounds really feminine in Japanese, the kanjis I can think of off the top of my head are all feminine, katakana isn't much better. For a female's name though it is quite nice, an archaic ring to it for Japanese. For English...hm, can't really say much.
EDIT - Especially with Ono as a family name, it just begs for O-ren.
Just sticking to my father guide when i vote: 1 A simple yet not too used name. (complex or selfmade names are a nono) 2 Not easily related to history or religion. (you know first thing to come in mind after Adolph) 3 Not yet found inside the family.
Zarathustra for a boy, as in Thus Spoke Zarathustra, I mean you can't go wrong, the little guy will have all the answers without having to mess up a single time.
If it's a girl I'd go for Kasuga, cause Osaka from Azumanga Daioh is my favorite, she's so adorable.
Since nobody seems to see the problem, I feel obligated to object to Jae.
Each generation of Korean males has a set syllable, which varies in position by parity. Hence there's a lot of Jae ___'s now, Jae Yoon, Jae Dong, etc. The previous was ___ Sup (although it might vary by family), and I forget what the next generation is _____ xxxx (it cycles through generations, and it's usually an odd number so the positions reverse eventually).
Naming someone Jae is pretty much copying part of a set naming standard, and you're robbing them of the unique part of the name. If a Korean family had one boy and just named him Jae, in accordance to the naming standard, I'd ask how lazy is that family that they couldn't come up with one syllable. This baby's not Korean, but if you're naming it in homage to some progamers, that's a pretty crappy homage.
Boy - Matthias (German variant of Matthew) I just think this name sounds so awesome. It's a name from the Bible, and it means "gift from the Lord," which I think is really sweet! I would like to name my son this if I ever get a chance.
Girl - Nevaeh (Ni - vay - uh) (the word "Heaven" backwords) My high school teacher named his daughter this, and many people have said they liked this name. It may be too cheesy, and I'm not sure how it would work in Japan.
I really like Constance for a girl, and Constance Ono kind of has a nice ring to it.
And if it's a dude, name him Holden, because the only the only thing I liked about the book "A Catcher in the Rye" was the main character's first name.
Both of these names are unique and stand out, which is a far better route than Michael or Sarah imo.

Mine wasn't a homage to progamers specifically, Jae was just an alternate to Jay (a normally boy name) which is unique outside of korea I think, while it looks nice and the added bonus was it used in korean names so manifesto can have a attachment to a part of his life and the good memories. What could be better than have something precious to you that has something about it tied to something you love as well :p.
Not like he's naming her Yo Hwan in homage to boxer.
Eric - all the people named I have met named Eric have been really compassionate and upstanding individuals. (Watch your child turn out the be the devil child lol.)
Don't go with an average, meaningless American name like Kevin please. If you're actually polling or really thinking about a name, choose something less lame. Picking a name that can be pulled out of a hat or something is no fun.
The great thing about non American names is that they are infused with meaning and many have cool stories behind it. I'm not saying that all American names are totally meaningless, I'm sure a lot of people have good reasons their parents chose that name or whatever.. but in and of themselves, wtf does a name like Kyle, Jason, or Tim mean aside from just being a name? Biblical references?
In conclusion, go with a name that means something!
The boy's name Kyle \k(y)-le\, also used as girl's name Kyle, is pronounced kyl. It is of Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "narrow, straight". Place name that refers either to a narrow body of water between two land masses, or to a peninsula or isthmus.
The boy's name Jason \j(a)-son\ is pronounced JAY-sun. It is of Greek and Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "healer; the Lord is salvation". Variant of Joshua. Biblical: an early Christian associate of Paul. Greek mythology: Jason was leader of a group of warrior heroes called the Argonauts.
The boy's name Timothy \t(i)-mo-thy\ is pronounced TIM-oh-thee. It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "God's honor". Biblical: Timothy was an energetic, well-trained young Christian who was a companion of Saint Paul, who wrote to him, "Let no man look down on your youth". According to tradition, he was martyred after denouncing worshippers of the Greek moon goddess Diana.

Oooo... you just insulted my parents. Die die die...
And just for your info, when I'm around, Kevin means awesome.
(If anything, I thought Kevin, Bruce and Sheila were West Australian names of the 70s/80s)
So if you like biblical names and James is too common why not take the more original and less used Jacob? The transition into japanese should be well enough (I'd go for Yakobu instead of Jaikobu though) and personally I think Jacob Ono sounds great.

Absolutely. Kevin is the coolest name ever.
arg In germany all the retarded eastern german kids have names like "kevin" and "jacqueline" and when I think of americans called Kevin I immediately think of Kevin Federline
(sry dont mean to insult your parents though )

If it's a girl I'd go for Kasuga, cause Osaka from Azumanga Daioh is my favorite, she's so adorable.
That would not be such a good idea, since Kasuga is her family name. If you use the same characters (春日 Spring day) you get Haruhi, which is a common name for girls.
I like Magnus and it's a name I've often considered for my own son someday.
I had a relative named King that sounded really good but I don't know how that would do with the way honorifics are used in Japan. Ono Hyde King or King Ono lol. If he hated the name or wanted to use a nickname it could be Ken.
Also, I took Easy Button and put it through anagram generator and found "Tetanus Boy" lol. Ono Boy Tetanus or Ono Tetanus!
I like the name Havelock, good sturdy name and uncommon enough. Ono Hyde Havelock.
For a girl I would say Scarlett because it means red. The only problem would be how it would be pronounced. Plus it seems to be gaining popularity recently which is a negative for me ;P.
I (somewhat obviously ) think Jayde would be a great name. Lots of possibilities with Jay and De. For instance, my first name starts with a J and my middle name with a D.
You hit it right on the money with Raynor, Raynor Hyde Ono, thats fuckin epic and runs along the same lines as his daughter's name, with the obvs sc nerd thing....also Fenix or Phoenix.... This is by far the coolest name I have ever heard. Met a really awesome Latino Drummer while I was playing with Tito Puentes (luckily) when I was growing up, named Phoenix Rivera. Me and a buddy of mine since have been greeting each other with a guttural PHOENIX!!!! while raising one hand from knee to chest (mini fist pump). Over Ten years gone, and we still do it to this day.
Phoenix Hyde Ono. Done.
ps. I think its a unisex name too. (Also Tasmia is a great girls name that is international, exotic, and down right fuckin awesome) o its pronounced (Taasz mia)
1) I believe that the progamer is the last Bonjwa (people will come up with another concept for whoever is greatest in the future). The son of someone like Mani deserves to carry on the name of the last Bonjwa.
2) Savior Ono - "Savior the One" (maybe the baby will indeed turn out to be the greatest StarCraft player in the future)
3) It's unique and has a nice ring to it.
4) Mani likes Savior right? (well I guess many StarCraft fans do...but I've seen pictures of Mani posing with Savior)

Oh yeah Phoenix/Fenix is kickass too bad its not in the poll ^^
the force would be strong with him and he could for sure grow a impressive beard Wiki: Kyle Katarn
I know some parents that try to make their daughters/sons name fit out and w/e because they think their clever and I kid you not, I know a kid named Kile -_-
Ok let's think about the kid growing up. Most likely s/he'll enroll in an international school, and do you really want to subject Mani's child to years of torment? Seriously? Naming your kid Thor? You're just asking for him to get beat up :/

Don't anger the god of war, china man.
Just have to mention this btw; when I was in college there were two guys at my school named Gandalf and Bilbo. I thought that was pretty awesome, they weren't related either.
Give him (if it's a guy) Jesus for middle name or God, that way whenever some chick says "OH GOD!" or cries out "JESUS CHRIST" he can go "you can call me -- Name --"!
EDIT: Of course not saying god is a guy.. No disrepect.
The whole name has a good ring to it, you're kid won't be mercilessly teased and have a bad childhood. Lloyd is not a totally common name, but it's not pretentious or weird either.
Don't name your kid Raynor, don't be that kind of dad.
Wow, manifesto7 should really keep/save this thread. It'd be a really cool gift for his son once he grows up; to know that a whole forum decided upon his name.

rofl.. interesting ahahaha x]] "c'mere son"
"what is it dad?"
"I need to show you something.. You've always wondered why you've had a fucked up name"

im guessing sc is his favourite game. So why not make it Raynor? I mean its a human name, and it fits perfectly (Manifesto is cool, Raynor is cool, so that would make the son double cool!). Congrats Mani.
For a Girl name it just ame it either Sarah OR Kerrigan. Can u use Kerrigan as a first name? Same math: Cool + Cool = 2Cool... (pun intended)
Sänger. Beacuse German names are preety good and also beacuse it is a name of a cool character from the Super Robot Wars series.
Of course, that is assuming a boy. If it is going to be a daughter, I would go with something Russian. I always thought Katyusha was a beautiful name (although it is also the name of a rocket launcher ).
On July 10 2009 00:21 KinosJourney2 wrote: This is pretty obvious: Lim (or Boxer)
Seriously, WHO wouldn't name their kid after the worlds best Starcraft player in history? Hell, i'd name my kid Lim or Boxer.
Lim is just a family name. Yo-hwan is his first name. And a Korean-Japanese combination name? That wouldn't sit too well with the parents or the culture (unless you're BoA and therefore super cute).
Also to the guy who suggested Phoenix: there's a Phoenix who works at my company. He's an unusual guy and the name loses a lot of its coolness factor on someone like that.
Katyusha? The Russian rocket launcher vehicle? Although I suppose it's a nickname for "Katherine"... but Mani isn't Russian either. I always thought that name was cool though.

dunno if this've been asked already but, what's mani last name? because i think the first name must match with the last name, we dont want someone named kevin pacheco
It's my name and from experience I can tell you it's quite good.
Pro's: -Fairly unique, I've only met 1-2 other Evan's in my entire life -Easy to pronounce and spell (though I've gotten a few "Evin" or "Even"s from retarded people) -Short and doesn't have any embarrassing nicknames. It's two syllables so it feels like a full name, but it cannot be reasonably shortened.

Con's: There are none.
You've only met one to two others with the name Evan? That's a common name where I'm from.
Daniel Its not a funny name i just like it, Its Hebrew, and it means God Judges, if that matters at all lol. (No im not religious) and please no Raynor unless you short it to ray...
It fits both Japanese and American backgrounds. Ken is short for Kenny in English and Ken could be short for Kenji in Japanese. It really satisfies both parties and shows the multiple sides that form the child

Since we are living in Japan, and my wife's family has no sons, it is a way for us to continue the family name. (If I were Japanese I may have taken her name upon marrying, its not too uncommon). Also, it is useful to have a Japanese last name in Japan. If we decided to move back to Canada permanently, I think we would all change to Allen.
