Standing on the docks I watched the stillness of the water. I knew that if I jumped I would make an impact, cause a stir in the water. Yet it was still morning and if the air was cold, the water would also follow suit. I thought of all the events that would occur afterwards: The bitter cold stopping me from breathing, the cold wind biting at the drops of water on my skin as I got out. At that point I realized my problem. My 12-year-old self could not make a move, because the future scared me. What good is life when I live too much in my head? Life is only a moment.
...and so I jumped and have never stopped jumping since.
