Rob was one of the only people decent at RB and yet he came last on a team that didn't include Starslayer? That's kind of disappointing that it's being manipulated like this so early on. Can any contestants retort this or is that under NDA?

show was entertaining surprisingly! didn't think it would be...
recommended to a lot of my friends
other thoughts: competition seems really lax... the fragdolls suck at shooters and the rest of these guys I've never heard of in their fields... Geoff's resume is the only one with national titles on it?!? have to double check but god why are there no PC games????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
edit: I think Geoff's only competition is Robert and Swoozie the rest seem amateur
Show was a bit cheesy, but suprisingly I enjoyed it more than most of similar shows that currently run on TV. After few more players get dropped, there'll be enough screentime to actually focus on participants' thoughts and show more stuff.

I think there was a band in the back that played the actual song (for the most part); the drums and the guitars in the back.

And I feel like I am echoing a lot of people here when I say that I think that rewarding any of these guys the title "overall best gamer" is a bit...T_T. As someone said most of them don't even seem to be top of the crop at their own games. But oh well, I too will obviously watch until Inc is eleminated wins. Having him as a spokes person for WCG could possibly mean really nice things for western epsorts. Hmm....
you don't need to be at the top of your own game to be considered the "best overall gamer." that's why it's called overall gamer.
Do you honestly think any of the guys on this show would place anywhere near the top in a combined halo / virtua fighter / guitar hero / racing game tournament where really really good players were allowed to play? I sure as hell don't. They are on the show because they are not too sterotypic nerds (guys) or cute (girls) and because they seemed capable of at least surviving the irl challenges. None of that has anything at all to do with "best all around gamer" though and that's my point.
ciji is top 10 on earth for guitar hero/rockband alyson is one of the best female halo players ever to play
Jamal has won 2 "Iron Man of Gaming" tourneys where thousands of people from all over the country come to Texas (iirc) and compete in a field of many many games.
kelly is probably the best overall female fps player atm.. (not counting cs)
But this is all semantics.. the overall gamer part is where you are confused. Read my previous post on the subject.
There are some legitimate hardcore semi-pro gamers like yourself and Swoozie, but as expected, most hardcore gamers take issue with players being "one of the best female halo players" because that's an unnecessary qualifier on a game few people consider a real e-sport.
Like you said, the show isn't really for hardcore gamers and they shouldn't be angry at something that at least draws attention from WCG and competitive gaming, but I don't think it's fair to completely dismiss their angst because you never know when WCG decides to pull SC out of competition because it doesn't draw the same massive casual gaming crowd as GH or WoW. CGS made the mistake of pushing too hard for casual gamers, reducing the status of legends like Ksharp, and the hardcore base killed them for it. First and foremost, it is about entertainment and ratings, but most people don't want to accept that.
It's no different than when TL members make fun of WC3 or ESR makes fun of pretty much everything not Q3. Or when I get upset at clans like PMS (HI ATHENA) who are fucking terrible at CS, even in the ridiculously unnecessary realm of Women's Only CS tourneys, yet still get sponsorships. Damn right I'm jealous of that.

So what were they actually judged on? o.o
The song sounded like the Ramones, only for 15 year old girls and without all the energy and culture that made the Ramones the Ramones. Basically it was repetitive and awful.

Dude, what is this rant for? Would you rather have them learn how to play Panthera? Or were you suddenly shocked to realise how crap some popular pop-rock bands are? (actually I never heard of Donnas before, but I assume they're somewhat known)

According to wiki the band is actually 16 years old. D:
