Not only it was a brutal financial flop for V.W. but its power its a shame... 16 fucking cylinders... 4 turbos... and they come up with 1001hp?... pathetic, ive seen 6 cyl single turbo supras reach more HP than that.
and its not even the fastest car in a straight line, wich would probably be an Ultimate Aero with 1045hp and less weight..
Also that heavy piece of shit would be obliterated on a track by a Koenissegg CCX easily.
Oh nozzzz the bugatti isnt the best car in the world and baal disagrees with me and my bubble has been busted oh nozzzz my life is ruined! So basically, if you are correct, there are two cars faster than the bugatti, and that makes the bugatti a "TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT"? Thats surprising, because while every single person on the planet might not agree it is the best consumer car, no one has ever described it in those words. I've always read praises about it. If you read the wikipedia article (or if you download the show), you'll realize that Jeremy Clarkson was totally biased against the bugatti and hated it, but once he tested it out, he fell in love with it, and said it was the greatest car ever made. For example, quoted from wiki: "After the car had reached production, Murray went on to write an article for another UK auto magazine, Top Gear, retracting a lot of his past criticism of the car. "One really good thing, and I simply never expected this, is that it does change direction. It hardly feels its weight. Driving it on a circuit I expected a sack of cement, but you can really throw it at tight chicanes." He also declared in the article that: "The braking is phenomenal," "The primary ride and body control are good too" and "It's a huge achievement." The trend of backtracking on negative comments about the Veyron continued when prominent UK car show host Jeremy Clarkson declared on Top Gear that it was "The best car ever made" after initially saying it was ridiculous and would never exist.[1] He would later extend this by saying he would spend the night with British reality TV star Jade Goody to get his hands on one. The Veyron was then proclaimed the Top Gear Magazine Car of the Year along with the Toyota Aygo and its Peugeot and Citroën clones. The Veyron was also declared the Grand Award winner for the Autotech category of 2006 by Popular Science magazine." Obviously, the car has a certain degree of mechanical and engineering brilliance. Your argument about the bugatti being a financial flop is completely stupid because you obviously didnt read my post, just saw "bugatti" and started replying. Let me quote: "After the release of the car, it has been reported that while each Veyron is being sold for £840,000, the production costs of the car are approximately £5 million per vehicle. This is not the price to produce one vehicle, but rather the cost of the entire Veyron project divided by the number of vehicles produced at that time. As Bugatti, and therefore Volkswagen, are making such a loss, it has been likened by automotive journalist Jeremy Clarkson to Concorde, in that both were test-beds for advancements in technology and developed as exercises in engineering rather than profit." The bugatti is a very refined car. It has prestige. Were I given the choice to receive any car in the world for free, I'd choose the bugattie. I doubt anyone would call me a dumbass for doing so. As of now, the bugatti is the fastest road car, and its record may or may not be broken at the world speed record in may 2007. Keep in mind that its highest speed is actually electronically limited. It also has the fastest tested 0-60mph (2.45 seconds), vs the aeros claimed 2.8 seconds and the koeniseggs 3.2 seconds. Also, I'm not sure if the aero TT (the newest model) is actually in production yet. The bugatti also has the best braking of the three, and wouldnt you say that would count in a race around a track? That Andy Frost guy customized his car to 2200bhp, 0-60 in 1 second, for just 100,000 pounds. Compare that to the bugattis cost of 5,000,000 pounds per car. Its obvious the bugatti has a lot more to it than sheer speed, bhp, and a W16. Although I'm no car expert, so I cant comment on specifics, but obviously you arent either, since your opinion is the complete opposite of every well known expert I know of. Finally, this isnt a thread about the best car or whatever. You dont see me shitting on other peoples choices just because the bugatti is "faster" than them. I could love a civic if I wanted to. I've already blown a new bubble. LOL nice assumption... dunno if you heard but im a professional rally driver... so yeah you can call me a car expert. Top Gear became a piece of shit after Tiff Niddle left, he was the only one who could drive, Clarkson, Hammond and company are a bunch of retards who have no idea whatsoever about what they are critizicing and they are ridiculously biased, i still remember when those tards said that a piece of shit alpha romeo was a better car than a S2000 god... idiots. as i said extracting only 1000HP out of 16 fucking cylinders and 4 turbos is pathetic, the Koenissegg produces 800 with less than half of that. And mainly it sucks because its a fucking luxury touring car just like the Mercedes SLR... they are fast... but they are simply too heavy and when they are put in the track against some real racing cars they are obivously obliterated. actually just by watching the car you can deduce its a touring car, not a racing car. Well this post is actually dumber than your last one, something which I thought wasnt possible. I have never said, in any post in this thread, that the bugatti is a "racing" car, so I dont get what you're trying to prove by "disagreeing" with that. I have said it is one of the fastest production cars available without and before customizations, and the facts and figures I have provided prove that. If you're going to disprove me, disprove that it isnt one of the fastest cars before customization. Give me the links to 10,000 models that are faster than it, please. I DO know you're a racer. I even remember that thread where you posted pictures of some race you had some night. However, just because you're a two bit racer (or are we going to see you in the F1 soon?) does, in NO way, mean you understand in detail the mechanical and engineering accomplishments of a machine. I'm sure the analysts at Popular Science Magazine understand the construction of the car better than you. After all, they analyze every single worthy car made that year. And I am sure all the other excellent reviews the bugatti has received are from people more accomplished than you. Furthermore, Jeremy Clarkson might not be the BIGGEST expert on cars out there, but he certainly knows a shit load more than you. How many supercars have you driven, tried and tested for weeks, and spoken to their manufacturers in detail about? Jeremy Clarkson has done that with a butt load of supercars. Hes driven them all, he's experienced them. When he makes a statement like, "the bugatti is the best car ever", it might not be an undeniable truth, but it surely carries more weight than a statement by you, "ITS A TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT". Furthermore, the fact that the bugatti has engendered highly positive reviews by everyone and everywhere not only weakens your claim, it utterly destroys. Did you read the 5 million pound per bugatti production cost? Extremely qualified people worked for several years to develop this car, spending millions of dollars in the process. Dont tell me they came up with something that, despite being hailed as a marvel everywhere, is actually a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT because you think so. The 2200bhp car Andy Frost built set him back 100,000 pounds. It does 0-60mph in one second. It has more bhp and thrice as fast acceleration than either the koenisegg or the aero TT, and it costs five times less. Explain to me why it isnt the best car in the world, and why this doesnt mean the aero and koenisegg are total garbage. I mean if a single guy can make such a killer car, the team of engineers building the aero and koenisegg must be retards to spend five times the money and come up with something much slower. The refinement, class, and prestige of the bugatti are qualities I prefer and admire. Who're you to tell me what I like and what I dont? If you're going to argue with me, you only have to do three things: 1) Explain how the bugatti is a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT car 2) Explain how the bugatti isnt one of the fastest pre-customized cars in production right now (I'll need links to at least 1000 cars faster than the bugatti) 3) Explain why it shouldnt be my dream car, especially since only I know what I want in a car For what it's worth, I'm going to partially agree with baal here, of course the Bugatti is a beautifully engineered car, but it's kind of a step backwards in automotive progress. It's like building the world's largest bridge out of wood. Sure, it might handle well but they could have made it handle better, they could have made it lighter, they could have made it more focused. I'm not even sure it would work as a GT car, GT cars are built to be driven comfortably for long distances and generally aren't supposed to be as high strung as a supercar. You really have to wonder how long the Veyron can run without having to maintenance it, I mean, the thing has four turbos, that has to take it's toll on reliability sometime. As for the 1001hp, I believe on Top Gear they said with diesel fuel and some slight tuning, the CCX has 900hp. 900hp from a twin(?) supercharged v8, half the seize, half the weight, half the amount of induction. In all honesty, the Veyron is probably just a PR tool for VW just to say "look at use, we can reach 1001hp" and generate publicity. This is probably the reason why most enthusiasts cringe (well at least I do) at the site of the Veyron, it's fat, it's heavy, and everyone and their mother loves it just because it has "1000 HORESEs POWERS!11!!", while in fact it contradicts nearly every law in motorsport. It's an engineering feat, not an engineering marvel like other supercars. Plus, I think it looks like a fat VW Beetle from the front.
