Have to go with D2 on this one. Eh, people who still play N64 (proud to be be one!) still play GoldenEye for the nostalgia. GoldenEye isn't famous for "aging well" over the years; heck, Perfect Dark came out soon after for the N64 and was basically GoldenEye 2.0 in every way. But it's still one of the most beloved games for one of the most beloved consoles, especially in regards to FPS/ party games ![]() But I've spent tens of thousands of hours on Diablo II too x.x And that's a timeless games in its own right.

Decent chance destiny will beat Starcraft in the first matchup too considering how many dumb console kids have only played the former. Ahem. Banjo-Kazooie was amazing. You sound like you dislike consoles on principle or something. Have some respect for N64! ![]()

In terms of which has aged better: Diablo 2 by far. The gameplay is still good today, even if the UI is atrocious. I dunno, I voted for D2 based mainly on the latter.

![]() Very happy to see metroid prime beating morrowind. Not that either is a contender for the grand final. smash melee vs the most loved pokemon game, there goes melee ![]() If Kotor looses to Zelda:tww i'm gonna be mad. But I'm gonna be mad either way the moment Kotor looses. Would be great if it was appreciated enough to beat the worst main-console zelda after zelda 2. Not that the rest are bad. Starcraft's group is relatively weak. Only Me2 and bl 2 have a large modern fanbase, despite being two of the weaker titles in that group (neither did anything really exceptional). Silent hill 2 might be another contender, but I'm not sure how large the fanbase for horror titles is.

I voted for D2 too, but I definitely recognize the importance of GoldenEye.

Honestly, Morrowind is and has been overrated pretty much since Oblivion came out. Everyone keeps saying Morrowind was the last good one, when really it is exactly the same formulaic game that Oblivion and Skyrim are just with worse graphics, controls, and UI, all things that have gotten better as the series advances. Whereas Metroid Prime was the best game in the Metroid series, a fresh, new take on both platforming and FPS on console, and an all around beautiful game both in terms of graphics and music. I'd take Prime any day.

The single player is still nice by today's standards and the lagging mp was, for its time, beyond awesome.

The way things are going SC will be out first round too. Looks like Gamefaqs skews far more console than it did 5 years ago.

There was no reason to explore, just follow the arrow. Oh, and you want to experiment with enchantment or potion making? Too bad, cuz that shit all got dumbed WAY down. The ONLY things that Oblivion did better is the sort of stuff that the casual Elder Scrolls fan enjoys. It was all surface polish, with no depth. Even dungeons and loot were randomized, so there was no fun in exploring any particular place, because it didn't matter, all that mattered was your level. Oblivion was the beginning of the end for that series, and everyone who says that Morrowind was the last good one is dead on. But yeah Metroid Prime was fantastic. Ain't nothing bad I can say about that game.
