As far as singles and the like are concerned, you won't get the best of what the band can offer that way. But I guess the average radio listener just wanted to hear drive over and over again.
does the new one got another cool instrumental track ;x?

Since I think Incubus does a very good job of providing a good album (much like Tool) I'm going to go ahead and say that the title will work just fine for the album, much the same as after listening to 10,000 Days I can't imagine it being named anything else.
I logged in just to post here As you may be able to tell by my name, Incubus is one of my favorite bands. I have all of their CDs. I have yet to hear this one, but Im buying it anyways because I know they wont disappoint. Rock on Incubus!
Incubus is good, i dunno why i ever stopped listening to them ( tho its prolly cause they got popular and that usually kills a band for me i e soad) Science, Fungous Amoungus and make urself were all awsome cd's, morning view was a little to soft for my taste but a crow left to the murder had some good tracks. I havent heard the new stuff yet but i hope to see a revert into the more heavey/funky sound they developed before they attained recognition

Nope, no instrumental this time. But they released the 4 track marathon instrumental that they didn't end up putting on A Crow Left of the Murder. It's called The Odyssey. Check it out.

I mean the album specifically. SCIENCE is a legitimately good alt-rock album, haven't heard Morning View and Crow Left to Murder very extensively.
EDIT: You seem to feel the way I do about Heavy/Funky.
The thing for me is that when Incubus and RHCP got less heavy and funky, it wasn't so much a stylistic change as it was the band's creativity fading away and them trying to find something new to do. But really if they had done the other style when they were more creative, it probably wouldn't have been as good as their heavy/funky material but it still would have been better than their current tracks.
Making good music is just fucking hard, what more can I say? Most bands just don't have what it takes to put out more than a couple noteworthy albums.
EDIT 2: One thing I'll say to Incubus's credit; RHCP fell into the trap where even though they made a switch in the type of music they write, they still try to capture their older style, failing miserably of course. Incubus's music, though in my opinion not really Incubus, is legit alt rock.
EDIT 3: And finally, taking the album as a whole, as of right now it seems ok, and parts of it are pretty cool. Based on my initial observations I'd say it's good-ok. If the music has staying power it might end up being good, otherwise it's just ok alt rock that has flashes of interesting writing.

Not just their bassist but the band fired the DJ from SCIENCE too. Although in fairness to Incubus he was acting like a huge ass.
But I have to agree that this change in membership definitely affected the overall chemistry of the band.
