There is no irony to be ridiculous.

It's not even somewhat ironic.
My thoughts:
Wow, what a weird coincidence that he would be in a series of movies with fast cars, explosions, and of course, exploding cars, and then die in a car explosion.
How ironic coincidental that I was having this exact same discussion in my office this morning. (everyone saying its ironic when its a coincidence)
Laughed out loud, also in my office
The irony is he's known for his character in the movies that does death defying things in cars in the movies, then dies in a car on an regular day. Pretty sure that's irony.
He never did any death-defying stuff, it was all stuntmen.
Yeah if he was actually amazing at driving then it would be possible to consider it irony but it doesn't even matter since he wasn't at the wheel O_o.
Part of the reason the car wreck appears the way it does, is because the Carrera GT has a carbon fiber monocoque construction. There are infinite possibilities as to why the vehicle caught fire, but the chassis' continuous exposure to high temperatures would result in the degradation of the resin between the carbon strands, resulting in the fibers falling apart from one another. So essentially you end up with a pile of black stuff and wondering if the car had just melted.
The engine is located at the rear of the car, as is the fuel cell. This is probably the area where the fire started. The impact could have been strong enough to puncture the fuel components and ended up feeding the fire.

Paul did have done several driving scenes himself in multiple F&F movies, he actually competed in a racing event before.

It's both because he died in a car crash. You don't have to be the actual driver for it to be ironic smartass.
I'm sad that this guy died (and also the other guy in the car), but I always try to see the brightside. At least he was doing what he loved when he died and at least we won't have to be subjected to any more Fast & Furious movies.

That is not what irony means.
1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend. 2. Literature. a. a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated. b. (especially in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., especially as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion. 3. Socratic irony. 4. dramatic irony. 5. an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
