Oh it happens. I've seen quite a number of crashes like that. Mostly Ferrari's and Porsche's. Not the type of vehicle you want to crash in.

Holy shit how does that even happen?

Real question is how fast does one have to be going for something like that to happen?

You don't need to go all that fast to wreak a car like that if you hit something like a tree head on. And it burned out as well.

Not to mention that high-end sport cars this days are being built to be extremely light, not durable.

Well what you need to do is hit the tree without slowing down. Most crashes are anticipated and people hit the breaks and slow down, that just looks like he slammed right into it without much slowing down.

Or the speed was so great that it hit the tree at a high speed even after slowing down. It is also possible to crash in such a way that the car almost doesn't lose speed in the duration of the crash. Going airborn for example(hitting the curb or a speedbump can do that do you). You also lose a lot less speed going sideways than if you block the wheels heading straight forward. Not to mention weather (looks sunny in the photos tho). And then once you leave the tarmac, you lose all chance of slowing down without hitting something completely.

We can only speculate. For all we know the driver could have gotten a stroke. We have no idea what happened at this point except the outcome of it

I agree. It angers me that some are putting the blame on Roger Rodas (driver). Yes, he was the driver, but still... Some of the things I've read is just so insulting.

http://hollywoodlife.com/2013/12/01/fast-and-furious-7-paul-walker-dead/

Paul Walker’s tragic death left the world heartbroken on Nov. 30. The 40-year-old ‘Fast & Furious’ actor died in a car crash in Santa Clarita after leaving a charity event. We had fallen in love with his character, Brian O’Conner, and now know that the cast and crew plan to pay a special tribute to Paul in the next film.

Fast & Furious 7 is currently in the process of filming, but after Paul Walker‘s shocking death, many were left wondering how the franchise would move forward. However, HollywoodLife.com can now tell you exclusively that the movie, slated to come out in July 2014, will honor the late star.

“Many people within the production haven’t even heard the tragic news because of the holidays, but its almost positive that the movie will still move forward in his honor,” a source close to the film’s cast told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. ”Once people get back to work on Monday, many meetings will be happening.”

Paul has starred in five of the six Fast & Furious films, plus was mid-way through filming the seventh when he tragically lost his life in a car crash.

Paul was the passenger in a Porsche GT during a charity event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide, which was raising money for those affected by the typhoon in the Philippines. The driver of the car lost control, crashing into a tree, causing the car to burst into flames. Santa Clarita’s Sheriff’s Station confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Paul’s family took to his official Facebook page to release the following statement:

It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW

Can't get over how ironic it is, but it's really sad nonetheless.

But it's not ironic.

It's not even somewhat ironic.

My thoughts:

Wow, what a weird coincidence that he would be in a series of movies with fast cars, explosions, and of course, exploding cars, and then die in a car explosion.

How ironic coincidental that I was having this exact same discussion in my office this morning. (everyone saying its ironic when its a coincidence)

Laughed out loud, also in my office

The irony is he's known for his character in the movies that does death defying things in cars in the movies, then dies in a car on an regular day. Pretty sure that's irony.

He never did any death-defying stuff, it was all stuntmen.

'His character'... reading sure is hard.

My stunt-doubles do the reading for me.

LOL
