I don't remember exactly which philosopher it was - one of Plato, Socrates, or Aristotle - who believed monarchy was best and democracy was kind of shitty, but that a degenerate democracy was the least bad degenerate form of government. Might not be a bad way to think of it. Mandatory KwarK shitpost reminding you that whenever one of those three talks about democracy what they're referring to is a broader oligarchy where the likes of them are allowed to be one of the oligarchs.

I second this shitpost from Kwark. The discussions about democracy during the time of Socrates and the discussion during the Enlightenment couldn’t be farther apart.

Operation Sanctuary: Newcastle child sex network convicted http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-40879427
Those prosecuted were from the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish communities and mainly British-born, with most living in the West End of Newcastle.
So diverse. I wonder what they have in common?

I think bardtown thinks India is a predominantly Muslim nation.

No, it cannot be that, bardtown wouldn't be that uninformed. He is british after all.

KwarK doesn't realise India has a significant Muslim minority, apparently. Sure, it's possible all these Muslim men decided to invite their Sikh or Hindu friend over to rape some kids with them, but I'm gonna just take a wild guess and say that that's probably not the case.

So Muslims and Catholic priests have a lot in common?

But you were clearly suggesting that all the nations on the list were Muslim nations and that's simply false.
London has a significant Muslim minority but you wouldn't say that the thing that Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, and London have in common is Islam. Just admit you misspoke.

They were all just charged with the same crime?

The problem here is that you are doing that incredibly annoying thing where you don't actually say what you want to say, but make other people guess it. And then you can choose the best out of those answers, or if people rightfully point out that all of them are silly, you just say that that isn't what you wanted to say.
How about instead of doing that, make your point. Don't let other people guess it. Then we can start discussing your point, instead of doing this silly dance.

Do you not see anything wrong with mocking bardtown's hostility to one religious group by insulting another? Asking because I'm simply curious, I'm not very religious and I don't feel offended by your post.

It's kinda been proven time and again that catholic institutions in several countries have been abusing boys for years and years.

What if I was fully aware of that and I was point out how blanket statements about entire religions is a bad look?
