Ameeeeeeriiiiiiiiicaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Okay, that's probably not worth much, so I'll weigh in on the OP: I think North Korea is just posturing at this point, KJU knows he can't keep up appearances forever, so he's getting desperate. I may be wrong, but I honestly don't think NK has the balls to fire missiles at the US or SK, considering it's basically going to mean the end of the NK gov.

NK knows that if they actually fired a rocket (nuclear or otherwise) at either the US or more realistically SK then they would be wiped off the map before breakfast. This is just pointless posturing and if there werent more pressing countries to deal with I would say just call there bluff at this point.

When China call North Korea, the "spoilt child" country you know that they are all "talk". If they did anything stupid, they would have the whole world against them and they would be finished, the reason they don't do anything.

Let them play with there toys, the amount of time it would take for a missile to reach the US from NK would be plenty of time for a missile from US to take it out over the Atlantic.

A rule of thumb is that if something North Korea does makes no sense from the outside, it's being done for internal political reasons. It's probably being done to bolster KJU's image as a strong military leader who won't bow down to other countries, just like the shellings last year

Is it just me, or is North Korea putting the much needed peace between China and the United States in potential jeapordy? I think it would be very politically awkward indeed to have Americans making war on North Korean soil. Even more awkward than it already is that the Chinese are being so soft on Korea themselves. If not for the fear of that, I can't think of any reason for the United States to have tolerated North Korea for as long as they have.

Just more random rhetoric and nonsense.
If North Korea were to ever truly take any military action they would get overwhelmed by the response.
Whenever North Korea makes announcements like that, it reminds me of this.

Basically this ^^ since KJU's father died allot people suspect that there are some kind of internal power struggle, reports has surfaced which claims that allot of the high-ups, mainly generals who are commanding the NK army, has vanished or died. So it could very well be KJU doing this in an effort to silence any resistance he has regarding the overall power of NK.

North Korea has weapons of mass destruction.I'm surprised USA hasn't invaded North Korea at this point , I guess there is no oil or minerals worth while in NK. Plus who wants to invade a country who is willing to defend them selves.

China can't do shit if the US declared war on NK. They're so economically joined by the hip to the US.

Let's say they get there nukes and long range missiles, it's going to be of such bad quality and the US will keep such a lookout for them they never leave far from NK's soil. There technology is just so far behind and with there isolation it's not improving that much faster either.

Not only that if they ever fire a single missile with a nuke in it i fear for it's poor people (yes those who have no choice and live inside an isolated prison) the retaliation might end NK as it is.

Im pretty sure that N.Korea have been watching what has happend to other "enemies" (former allies lol) of the US and came to realise that to be able to keep the US from "finding weapons of mass destruction" in N.korea, they need weapons of mass destruction capable of hitting the US.

with that said; I dont think N.K is ever going to use their weapons, they simply need them as an insurance of never being invaded.

Imo, freedom of speech is quite subjective regarding TL, one can bash on whatever they want, the exception being the US.

Because the first is general hating which is just stupid. The second is an analogy. Makes total sense

Plus no-one from North Korea can compain because you must have a very high political/military/social status to be able to access the www if you are North Korean.

Freedom of Speech? This is a privately run forum. This isn't Facebook. Before you edited your post, the FIRST post of the THREAD, with a guy with SIXTY some total posts, was contrasted with a fitting, funny analogy by a guy with TWO THOUSAND POSTS.

look at yourself... you edit your post... then doublepost.... doubleSTANDARD?

on topic, I am actually decently nervous about this. The last thing the earth, ozone, leukemia/cancer cases need is another h or a bomb being dropped

at least, if they really fire it at japan, most of them have lived full lives (Y)

That's exactly the problem though.
Every country that has nuclear armaments has the potential to destroy someone, but is held back by the fact that by doing so would assure their own destruction by other countries and their nukes. Nuclear war is unlikely to happen because we're held together by the fear of mutually assured destruction. Logically, it's pretty much suicide to launch a nuke.
The problem is, North Korea is fucking insane. Not balls to the walls insane, balls deep inside the wall, whispering that it's the cutest kitty cat in the whole wide world insane. Everyones worried they're so deluded, or possibly just don't give a fuck enough, that they might just break that peace.
Personally I think it's unlikely to happen, but it's kind of a justified fear.

I actually think it is much less of a threat than a missile that isn't targetted anywhere specifically.
that's a lot scarier than "I am targetting you S.Korea and USA bitchzzzzz"

unpredictability is one of the worst things you can have in Politics.

I guess that depends a lot on where you live.

Also, as far as i know, shooting down missiles is pretty hard. I have of course no idea just how good any missiles screens the USA have are, and how effective they would be at shooting down low-tech missiles coming from NK, if they even have some. But it is some orders of magnitude easier to launch a missile then to shoot one down.

That being said, NK is weird, and it is to hope for everyone involved that it somehow collapses without a lot of fallout rather soon.
