Okay, that's probably not worth much, so I'll weigh in on the OP: I think North Korea is just posturing at this point, KJU knows he can't keep up appearances forever, so he's getting desperate. I may be wrong, but I honestly don't think NK has the balls to fire missiles at the US or SK, considering it's basically going to mean the end of the NK gov. NK knows that if they actually fired a rocket (nuclear or otherwise) at either the US or more realistically SK then they would be wiped off the map before breakfast. This is just pointless posturing and if there werent more pressing countries to deal with I would say just call there bluff at this point.

Let them play with there toys, the amount of time it would take for a missile to reach the US from NK would be plenty of time for a missile from US to take it out over the Atlantic.

A rule of thumb is that if something North Korea does makes no sense from the outside, it's being done for internal political reasons. It's probably being done to bolster KJU's image as a strong military leader who won't bow down to other countries, just like the shellings last year e: Absolutely nothing that North Korea does is being done because "they are crazy" or "they are spoiled brats". North Korea is a totalitarian dictatorship with a massive propaganda machine and a government full of people who will do anything to gain and maintain power, there is a reason behind everything they do

If North Korea were to ever truly take any military action they would get overwhelmed by the response. Whenever North Korea makes announcements like that, it reminds me of this.

So it could very well be KJU doing this in an effort to silence any resistance he has regarding the overall power of NK.

I think it would be very politically awkward indeed to have Americans making war on North Korean soil. Even more awkward than it already is that the Chinese are being so soft on Korea themselves. If not for the fear of that, I can't think of any reason for the United States to have tolerated North Korea for as long as they have. China can't do shit if the US declared war on NK. They're so economically joined by the hip to the US.

Not only that if they ever fire a single missile with a nuke in it i fear for it's poor people (yes those who have no choice and live inside an isolated prison) the retaliation might end NK as it is.

with that said; I dont think N.K is ever going to use their weapons, they simply need them as an insurance of never being invaded.

look at yourself... you edit your post... then doublepost.... doubleSTANDARD? on topic, I am actually decently nervous about this. The last thing the earth, ozone, leukemia/cancer cases need is another h or a bomb being dropped at least, if they really fire it at japan, most of them have lived full lives (Y)

Whenever North Korea makes announcements like that, it reminds me of this. That's exactly the problem though. Every country that has nuclear armaments has the potential to destroy someone, but is held back by the fact that by doing so would assure their own destruction by other countries and their nukes. Nuclear war is unlikely to happen because we're held together by the fear of mutually assured destruction. Logically, it's pretty much suicide to launch a nuke. The problem is, North Korea is fucking insane. Not balls to the walls insane, balls deep inside the wall, whispering that it's the cutest kitty cat in the whole wide world insane. Everyones worried they're so deluded, or possibly just don't give a fuck enough, that they might just break that peace. Personally I think it's unlikely to happen, but it's kind of a justified fear.

I guess that depends a lot on where you live. Also, as far as i know, shooting down missiles is pretty hard. I have of course no idea just how good any missiles screens the USA have are, and how effective they would be at shooting down low-tech missiles coming from NK, if they even have some. But it is some orders of magnitude easier to launch a missile then to shoot one down. That being said, NK is weird, and it is to hope for everyone involved that it somehow collapses without a lot of fallout rather soon.
