I mean animal rights? What is it? A group devoted to making sure people dont harm animals. Don't hurt or mistreat them. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not speaking to the individual man, it's speaking to a society who see's it fit to eat meat, lol. "Don't push your beliefs on me." Fuck you, don''t touch that animal.

For my part I can only say that I grew up playing Pokemon and having lots of animals (~10). I treated them right and gave them tons of love =) This game will stay in my heart forever, no matter what will happen

New Documents: PETA Killed a Near Record-Breaking 95 Percent of Adoptable Dogs and Cats in its Care During 2011 Hypocritical Animal Rights Group Brings Pet Death Toll To 27,751 Washington, DC — Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online, obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request, showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed a staggering 95.9 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2011. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the notorious animal rights group has continued killing adoptable animals at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, at an average of 37 pets every week. According to records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 1,911 cats and dogs last year while placing just 24 in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 27,751 pets have died at the hands of PETA workers. "PETA hasn’t slowed down its slaughterhouse operation, even as the group continues to lecture the American public with its phony ‘animal rights’ message," said Rick Berman, CCF’s Executive Director. "It appears PETA is more concerned with funding its media and advertising antics than finding suitable homes for these dogs and cats." Despite its $37.4 million budget, PETA employees make little effort to find homes for the thousands of animals they kill every year. A 2010 inspection of 290 PETA animal custody records performed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services discovered that PETA killed 84 percent of the animals it took control of within only 24 hours. Additionally, the inspection discovered that PETA’s animal shelter didn't meet PETA’s own published guidelines for running a humane shelter. "For the 13th year in a row, PETA’s leaders have shown they don’t care about the unlucky dogs and cats that come to its Norfolk facility," Berman continued. "It’s about time PETA’s ‘shelter’ is reclassified as a slaughterhouse." CCF has obtained PETA’s "Animal Record" filings for every year since 1998 from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Members of the public can see these documents at www.PETAKillsAnimals.com. There are even more statistics in there too about how awful an organization like PETA is to animals x.x

I agree they are hypocrites in many ways, but they don't kill animals like that. There would be serious animal lovers at their facility's doors if those stats were true. The stats basically say that PETA kills 5 animals a day while only putting 2 animals in homes per month. Those stats would not be ignored. This website looks to be bullshit anyway.

Still its fun and even kids know that. I am quite sure that Pokemon doesn't encourage you kids to believe real animal abuse is ok. So I dont see the reason PETA should protest against it.

I'm not a fan of PETA, but all they are doing is basically just trying to draw an allegory with pokemon to how animals are treated in the real world. Anyone who thinks they are seriously protesting the video game pokemon needs to re-read PETA's statement. I took it as "if pokemon were real, we would protest it, but the way some animals are treated today mirrors how pokemon are treated in this fictional series." It's obviously a way to try and get a message out, but it's really not a terribly absurd statement. If they really cared all that much about their message they might not deliver it in such a completely and utterly asinine way. I mean really, the only thing this has accomplished is called attention to PETA, and not positive attention either. Its just PETA attention whoring with outlandish content so that they can remain relavent. If they really gave a rat's ass about the cause they say that they care about, they would deliver their message in a sane way. Parodying popular video games is just asinine, especially when one of the videogames CONSTANTLY repeats the same "Treat your animals with love and respect!" rhetoric over and over. I mean the statement really ISN'T all that bad, but taken in context with the fact that its PETA, and their little Pokemon Black and Blue parody it seems fairly clear that PETA is just attention whoring.
