Should have been: Avenge Samsung, Google will; begun, the Trade Wars have.
I'm actually on Apple's side here, not only becuase I'm a iBoy. I believe Apple and Motorola have been working on a patent resolution since 2010, only that Motorola is asking for the moon. Non-standard essentials is a shady region at this point, I won't be surprised that the court hearing will feature a lot of psychologists and anthropologists to provide statements on the natural dynamics of digital interaction and interface, as translated in the hardwares.
From what I understand Motorola asked for less for there patents than Apple asked for on there patent on the rectangle.

I also don't understand the overpriced claims - isn't an ipad better value for money than any tablet? Isn't an iphone similar in price and capabilities to a high end android phone?
From my experience, no it is not.
Also most forums aside from pro-Apple ones usually tend to dislike Apple because of the way they conduct business. A lot of the time it's misguided anger but there are some really valid points floating around.
Oh, and if Apple can get Samsung with a bullshit 'look and feel' suit, I'm sure Google's got plenty of ammunition to make Apple's life hell. What goes around comes around!

Maybe it's all about their values at the time the negotiations took place. Motorola was only recently acquired by Goggle, and Apple has so much leverage then to make the most out of the negotiation.
Apple started it so I guess it was only a matter of time before Google responded. Kinda sucks that it has to come to this. I doubt the courts and lawyers can really get a handle on this unless they are somehow very informed on the issues.
As much as I love Google and dislike Apple... I cant help but think Google is playing the good cop until they win everything, THEN they will show us their real nature. Kind of like Chancellor Palpatine!

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy won this thread, k thanx.
Gonna be following it VERY VERY VEEEEEEEEEEEEERY closely, gogo Android!
Copyright law is an absolute joke, it's almost as bad as the software patent situation...anyways at least it's Apple getting fucked over this time so I'm not THAT mad about it.
Never ending Saga continues, when will the horror end I don't like Apple, but i still don't like the way everyone is throwing around their weight abusing power. Samsung took Apple to court, Apple took Samsung to court, Apple win in America, Apple lose in Korea, now Google wants to avenge the loss in the States for Samsung, this is all silly and a never ending circle >.<
Why can't they all just sell their phones and let the "best man win" would make things alot simplier.
You know, for cool trendy new stuff like this, its really awesome that everyone is using the same patents. Because touch screen, voice control, digital sync devices are AWESOME, be they Windows, Google, Apple or Samsung.
Do you get people in Sci Fi movies bitching that their 'equivalent electronic media device' is better than others, and that others are infringing on their patents and must be banned? No, cause they're all prettymuch the same .... and they're all really cool, so I'm no too sad. I really don't like the big companies trying to be dicks and monopolize market share with THEIR equivalent device, with minor changes. Cause that means I can't try the other guy's stuff, cause it's banned ):
Patent people, how does it work in the auto industry, were lots of different brands copy and take off the same designs?
This is going to be so much more epic than KeSPA vs GOM. Someone needs to come in and do what South Korea did: Ban both companies. Not only on the older products, but their new ones too.

SK did not ban Kespa nor Gom Or if you meant otherwise, they did not ban Apple or Samsung. So I dont understand what you are trying to say.
Edit: I think you are right :o Just did google search on it and it looks like both companies are banned lol. My mistake
I feel like Apple is gonna get shredded up here. They went after something very general vs Samsung. Google is targeting very little niche patents that are hard to infringe upon, and if it turns out Apple is actually infringing on all these patents, they are in for a huge loss.
Will be interesting to follow though. Sucks that stuff like this has to happen but at least it's something to pay attention to.
Patenting software functionality just makes no damn sense. How can it be done?

This isn't even being a good guy here as-is now. This is fighting dirty IMO, albeit in retaliation to stupid Apple harassment. I dislike Apple, but this move by Google improve my view on Google at all (although it's still better than Apple).
Patent law for technology like mobile phones just doesn't work. Companies buying other companies just to get their patents is not what tech companies should be doing with their time and money. What they should be doing is making cool stuff, not covering their arse in case they accidentally infringe someone else's patents.
Why? Who's going to profit, the customer? Either of these companies? Google and Apple have too much money to spend, the outcome is not going to change much for them. It's just kids fighting over nonsense, at a much bigger scale.
