So here's the debate... Is it the noble cause, or the $$$/actual patent cause as the motive of this?

Is this having to do with google doing this for the industry and suing Apple to send a message and say "Hey, its not cool just going around and suing your closest competitors to try to deal with them that way"...

Or is it more along the lines of Google thinking "Oh, good idea... So if they beat samsung, then maybe we can do the same to them"

Most businesses don't sue non stop because they know of the repercussions in terms of tainting their reputation.

This is basically a "Reputation Unaffected Card" for all competing companies.

Every company that sues Apple now look like "Good Guys".

This is like a battle of the two super corporations here. I hope Google wins, but I hate to see any corporation have so much power honestly... the influence of these companies is getting enormous.

Some one a couple of pages brought up a good point. How do other producers deal with these patent laws, tv and car manufacturers for example? anyone know anything about this? vaguely remember reading something about a gentlemans agreement but am unsure.
