I have no problem with pros doing this. I do have problems when retards are interviewed for my local paper. "I'm a gamer" "Gaming is a way of life, it's my style" "My real friends are online". So now nobody knows I game because they will print this retard label that comes from these people who get interviewed once every (3?) months. I wish they would die.

You have got to be kidding me...
An average Cal-Main team doing 1.6 would easily make invite for source, and in fact, if you check the team histories for many teams in Invite for Source you'll see that they were originally 1.6 Main teams (or even P teams that couldn't make it into I). Granted many top professional American teams are switching to Source (because of CGS and money etc), it still doesn't mean that Source is in any way a "better game."
Are professional teams outside the United States (especially in Europe where the CS scene is the largest) unwilling to make the switch because CS: Source is particularly hard to adapt to? Empirically one should not be inclined to think so. Complexity and Team 3D as well as top players from other top American 1.6 teams have actually found the transition to be quite easy. (i.e Col still owns face)
Sure, Source has better graphics but the gameplay is just.. so bad. Sure they made the AWP delay a little longer so that quickscoping would be harder, but the role of the AWP still hasn't changed in competitive play. It's still a large investment and it's still deadly in the hands of a proficient user. Besides the AWP, the only guns used in Source competition haven't changed from 1.6: Glock,USP,Deagle,Galil,FAMAS,AK,M4, and the AWP. In fact with the tighter spray patterns and larger hitboxes for the head, it is in fact easier to use a rifle in Source than it is in 1.6. Honestly, I could go on and on about why the gameplay in source is so bad, but I don't want to vilify the place where professional counter-strike is inevitable going to head.(because of the money) Hopefully ProMod is going to take off and I won't have to keep ranting about how bad CS: Source is.

yeah i know, dude pulls off the craziest shit in every match. the game is merely a palette for his combo improvisation. like one time i was fox on yoshi's story, he was playing falco, and he knocked me off slightly, then somehow landed two downair spikes in the same jump (no double jump) to kill me. everyone in the room was just like 0_0

it was probably the first time it was done in any smash match ever

Just recently there was this tourney at my local netcafe (netfragz might have heard of the CS team) it was a 5v5 CS Source and then a 1v1 CS Source all sponsored by XFX or something like that... The way it worked was there is this progamer bus that is filled with the xfx gamers who play the top 5v5 team at the tourney for money.. then there is the 1:1 tourney where the winner of it plays one of the xfx gamers that the xfx team votes to play AKA the weakest link and if the outsider winz he kicks the xfx team member off the bus and is now a member and gets to travel with them :D... I know that sounded pointless but there are two things related to thsi topic. One being the fact that MTV was filming this for a documentary and second my buddy who NEVER plays source but is Cal-P 1.6 beat this so called source progamer :D was pretty funny so now hes on the bus (people who know CS might know him.. MikeyTux) but ya.. thats how bad source is compared to 1.6.. people who dont even play it can beat "proz"
