Let him be ignorant. Just look at all his posts on the last page. He starts off by saying his "only problem is x" and then goes to trash talk the game on different accounts. 2funny

Or battlecruisers are unavailable until you buy, but core units are always free (MMMVG and tanks for example). Depends... if the sum of all the parts is equal to 60, it isn't any different, right? Also, some people prefer a "monthly payment plan" style of playing. They may never have a lump sum of 60 dollars in disposable cash, but they could easily spend 5 per month of the same product, and over time, it goes over what the initial lump sum may have been. Obviously in real world situations that gets you in trouble with debt, but for games, it works out well for many f2p models. The big thing is -- don't sell power. Skins, etc.. people shell out money for that stuff, for some reason I cannot fathom. Nintendo does it all the time with handheld system colors, etc. It works well.. people apparently love superficial stuff.

Also kind of sad to be reminded how poorly SC2 is fairing in korea. I wonder if it will gain tremendously in popularity when + Show Spoiler + or if

I wonder if it will gain tremendously in popularity when + Show Spoiler + or if That will only happen if the scene itself switches to SC2, which means KeSPA dealing with SC2.

There are also other qualifications in the olympics in judging a sport. The sport has to be of sufficient difficulty so as the layman could not easily replicate a top contender's success. The sport has to be easy to understand and entertaining to watch sufficiently to draw viewers (people have to care about it). It also has to involve some form of athletic (mechanical difficulty) which also satisfies the "not easily replicated" portion. Also (not in the rules but) the good sports involve some form of small randomness like wind speed in tennis or temperature in the triathlon which the pros know how to correct for and deal with. My opinion is this. If you apply this to esports you'll find that LoL does in fact satisfy all those categories that a sport would have to satisfy to be called an Olympic sport. No matter what anyone says, the average person could not replicate a LoL pro's success even after weeks maybe even months of practice. The views it draws speaks for itself; people care about it. Mechanical the mechanical skill of a pro player is again not easily replicated in weeks or months (I'm not talking about Dota pros who already have a ton of experience, I'm talking about people who don't have a ton of experience with the MOBA genre). There is randomness which pros take care to correct for. You can argue all you want about whether or not YOU as a person like to watch the game or YOU as a person believe that the game doesn't have enough mechanical skill, but that doesn't make it not an esport. There are plenty of people who treat it exactly like an esport and so far there is yet to be a single documented case of a player who just waltzed in and was competing in top prized events in a month. Similarly, just because I believe that curling and bobsledding are dull and don't involve much athletic ability or complexity in strategy, does not mean that they don't have their merits as a sport. Take a look at some of the weird things that are treated exactly like sports in society today. You have NASCAR which I think is an abomination among sports, but you have to give those guys credit because they can DRIVE and they draw in a lot of fans.

sc2 had like two years to become big in korea but never really went anywhere, you guys can try to guess the reasons, but everyone knew already that sc2 will rely on foreign scene to thrive. but as we all know foreign scene is even more fickle with games and bandwagon the most popular one at the time as it always has. Whether lol comes or not really all the blame is on blizz they had plenty of chance to establish themselves, but they don't promote their game as adamantly as riot

Hahahahahah. Oh well. Blizzard deserve what they're copping now with a casual game taking the eSports throne. Bit ironic that the king of casual games (Blizzard) is getting OutCasual'd by Riot Ganes.
