When you have to pay for extra items the competitive communal nature of the game disappears and it turns into an e-casino or something along those lines. Nowadays everyone just wants to ride the wave and tag along with whatever the current fad is. We have a winner. "Pay for extra items" +1 to the total number of idiotic trolls who have never even experienced LoL or MOBA in any form yet come here to bitch and moan that the success of a game is bad for gaming in general!

Dem Skins mang, everyone knows the team with more skins win that's why 2k elo people are 2k, they got ALL the skins from tournaments, so they naturally always win.

SC2 never had a chance, you just don't release a sequel with an ongoing number in Korea. It seems your sample size of 1 game is sufficiently large enough to justify lumping an entire country's population of ~50 million and making a sweeping generalization such as "Koreans are generally butthurt when it comes to sequels"! Oh wait...

SC2 - more mechanical demand - bigger punishments for mistakes, normally game-ending - less room for comebacks - less social - dwindling competition (at a scary rate... season 2 - 2,000,000 people. season 5 - 500,000) - team battles aren't taken seriously - game seems less balanced for 99% of the player base I enjoy watching SC2 more than LoL, but LoL is still enjoyable to watch and it's way more fun to play. My personal reason for switching over to mostly LoL is that I don't think this game is close to balanced below pro level. Having the option to FFE into 8 gates and beat top 8 Master Zergs, likewise for 4-gate in PvP... why would I do anything else? Put MORE mechanical demand on myself for LESS chance of winning so that eventually when my mechanics are good enough I can play the top 0.1%? No thanks. If using easy strategies will land me in the top 4%, then I will do just that. Damage is just done too quickly and unpleasant surprises are 99% of the time game ending... only people with deep mastery of the game will be able play out the game in a non-derpy way.

It is likely that dota 2 will "overtake" lol in those areas, once the game is actually released. I don't know much about Eastern Europeans, but I know my Chinese friends are having a lot of trouble with steam partially because debit and credit cards over there are such a complicated system. Steam and valve in general isn't really that popular in China as of yet (last time I checked). So Dota 2 will have to overcome this hurdle in China.

Oh wait... Hehe, okay I admit it I was half-joking the reason of course is the incredible amount of money Riot invests into promotion (hello Nada-I-do-everything-for-money) and tournaments (5 million dollars please). On the side, LoL doesn't have competition in Asia. Chinese players are really strong in DotA but it becomes kind of outdated and FPS took over.

Tobi is too much of a spaz for my liking. I mean there's being excited about stuff and then there's that. Too over the top for me. I don't see Al Michaels screaming till his throat bleeds when he's announcing a football game. Can be excited without shouting at the top of your lungs jumbling all your words together.
