Not being biased about SC2 but I personally think that this should be bigger than any game out therer right now.
Maybe they are promoting the games featuring teams competing instead of 1v1? I mean Counter Strike was big as well in the International scene because of its gameplay. I think this is the same reason they are really promoting LoL like this.
Oh well, just hope that SC2 would not go down in the e-sports scene.

People keep saying LoL has a low skill ceiling as if it's gospel because you type it. It does perhaps have a low SKILL FLOOR, because the entry level is quite easy indeed; its skill ceiling however is potentially infinite(like any real time event between two humans, because you will constantly attempt to one up eachother and do unexpected things).
Just because the game can be played mechanically to perfection with something like 100APM, does not mean the skill required overall(skill is not just mechanical ability) is low.
Does Flash have the highest consistent APM of BW pros?(that's a rhetorical question, but for those who don't know the implied answer is no, yet he is still 'god')

Nobody's perfect, so don't worry about it too much :-)
I wouldn't be jealous at LoL, but rather concerned for it's future. Where are the sponsors? Where are the teams? Yes, there are a few, but many teams just pick up Dota2 teams anyway, even tho the game isn't even out and LoL would be the first pick then. Why are there huge numbers, but no interest from companies to invest? It's one thing to have huuuuge prizepools, which are provided by the company who made the game, but where is the interest from other companies, investors etc.? The players only make money by streaming, not from competitions or anything else.
Maybe the playing fanbase-only isn't as interesting for investors. Maybe there is not much potential for growth in a game, where only the people who play it watch it. So many viewers at the tournaments, but no one with money is interested, apart from Riot, who made it of course. Well, sad.

I guess that means Kespa got their slimey mitts on LoL instead of SC2.....Riot don't know what they're letting themselves in for

The biggest thing I don't understand about most of the posts in here is how people assume that any one can become professional at Lol. Do you follow the pro-scene at all? CLG has been the best team in NA since the inception of competetive LoL. I highly doubt they'd be the best team in NA for so long if anyone could become pro. Look at the other teams, too. TSM and EG have been the top 3 NA teams since the first WCG where LoL was played. Hell, almost all of the players on these teams have been playing since beta or close to that. It took them 3 years to become the best and no grandmaster SC2 player will match them.

LoL is like - Oldnavy more people have it but looks bad
Sc2 DOTA2 - LOUIS VUTTON looks good costs more

This is the problem with ARTS scene. Some tournaments choose LoL while some choose Dota or HoN. This is not the case with SC2 because almost every single tournament out there has SC2. This is why I am not really worried about SC2's future at all. ARTS's games will compete each other.

They have not seen HOTS yet. Im pretty sure it would take the crown back to the rts

The sad thing is that if Blizzard fights lol it won't be due sc2, it's because most of its 2 million WoW players dropped reason was associated to lol(and other f2p games, but mostly lol) ...

Not really suprising considering it's popularity, easy to set up and play and very good introduction into the genre. Tobi said it pretty well in that one interview. While I prefer Dota 2, having a good competitor forces the games to up their features, though currently LoL is far ahead as D2 is still closed beta and Valve has yet to work out the infrastructure for eastern PC bang clients etc. However, if they manage to get most of Dota 1 players move over, the player base will dwarf games like WoW, at least if the downloads/playerbase estimates are anything to go by.
SC2 is getting a bit stale, but I'd assume that once the last expansion is out, they have finally most if not all planned bnet features done and the game's units have been finalized, it will be a proper successor to BW. At least I hope so... it might be too late.
I just want them to break the static lineup in LoL, if they manage to make more strats viable and increase the lane activity it would be so much more interesting to follow.

Rofl blizzard missed the train with KeSPA, so now they are promoting LoL instead? That's kind of funny.

Open challenge to anyone in this thread who thinks lol is easy:
I will give you as long as you want to train and put a team together. You will then play against a group of people I can get together from the LoL community here on TL. And then you will get crushed.

Well looks like sc2 is dead.

Looks like SC2 fails so hard in Korea haha
Well, Blizzard got their last two air bubbles to breath from til the next few years, giving them some hope of not drowning in their own arrogance and mistakes.
Meanwhile we hope for a new OSL to start soon.
And people who hate on LoL for being too casual, remember to not be a hypocrite.

It's just the game that is mechanically easier than SC/SC2 not that playing agaisnt other players is easy. Just like when people say SC2 is mechanically easier than SC:BW doesn't mean winning GSL is easy.

I really tried watching LoL. I tried playing too... and... It is sooooooo boring and so easy and just, well, boring.
And it is sad to hear that SC2 is not/will not be #1 in Korea (after BW I mean). But also in Europe/US it seems that LoL is #1 Remember last IEM? 200k watching LoL and 50k watching SC2. I think I am too old, or not enough openminded to understand popularity of LoL. :/

there is A LOT of people playing/picking up LoL in korea now, SC2 is dead (nothing will "revive" it anymore, not even further expansions or PR, it IS dead in korea, face it), BW is still a favourite among casuals but definitely losing (maybe even already lost) #1 spot as the casual game in korea (not necessarily to LoL, but to other games, probably MMORPGs/FPSs)
OGN is doing a LOT to promote LoL (probably paid by Riot Games but that's my suspicion), even pushing OSL down the schedule and moving the two big-name casters to promoting LoL. But let me tell you that it's shit to watch on TV because OGN isn't casting in HD, so even on my relative's HD tv, I feel like i'm watching in 240p and can't tell shit apart (which kinda turns me off). this is from first-hand experience watching the first LoL broadcast on LoL. If they fix some things like that though, LoL will definitely take off a lot bigger in korea at a very very scary pace that will put Blizzard to shame.
